Ipswich captures team titles at Super Region in Gettysburg

GETTYSBURG — Ipswich captured team titles at Thursday’s Super Region track and field meet. 

The Ipswich girls finished with 110 points, ahead of James Valley Christian (104) and Potter County (98).

The Ipswich boys scored 131 points, ahead of Timber Lake (85.5) and North Central (76). 

In boys action, Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich won the 100-meter dash (:11.30), ahead of teammate Trevor Heinz (:11.37). Hettich also won the 200-meter dash (:23.23), ahead of teammate Maxwell Kulesa (:23.34). 

Ipswich’s Rasmus Loken won the 110-meter hurdles (:16.52), the pole vault (12-6) and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles (:43.80). Heinz captured the long jump (21-2). 

The Ipswich boys also won the 400-meter relay (:44.64) and 800-meter relay (1:31.30). 

Timber Lake’s Gracen Hansen won the 300-meter hurdles (:41.09) and was on the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:32.94). Hansen also placed fourth in the triple jump (39-11). 

Potter County’s Nicholas Schlachter won the 800-meter run (2:03.26) and 1,600-meter run (4:41.62). 

Leola’s Dustin Wurtz won the shot put (50-4) and discus (138-4). North Central’s Raynor Sprague won the 400-meter dash (:52.84) 

James Valley Christian’s Kaden Ober won the 3,200-meter run (10:45.99). 

Faulkton Area’s Spencer Melius won the javelin (141-9). Highmore-Harrold’s Aitor Ortega won the high jump (6-1). Lemmon’s Hiroshi Picklesimer won the triple jump (40-6.5). 

The Sunshine Bible Academy boys won the 3,200-meter relay (8:38.62) and sprint medley relay (3:54.23). 

In girls action, Ipswich’s Sophia Knittel won the 200-meter dash (:27.30). Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus won the 1,600-meter run (5:21.58). Ipswich’s Jalyssa Hutson won the high jump (4-6) and pole vault (10-6). 

Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim won the 100-meter dash (:12.57) and was on the winning 400-meter relay (:51.47) and 800-meter relay (1:48.82). Jochim also placed second in the long jump (16-1). HSA’s Mya Ebel won the discus (116-3). 

Faulkton Area’s Savanna Hayes won the javelin (108-2), finished second in the discus (114-6) and placed fourth in the shot put (32-3.5) 

Potter County’s Emma Schlachter won the 400-meter dash (1:01.41) and ran the anchor leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:08.64).

JVC’s Andee Frandsen won the 800-meter run (2:25.55) and 100-meter hurdles (:16.54). JVC’s Hadasah Olson won the 3,200-meter run (12:43.34). JVC’s Maggie Decker won the shot put (36-11.5) 

Sully Buttes’ Olivia Olson won the 300-meter hurdles (:46.81) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (:27.42). 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Emma Schneider won the long jump (16-7) and finished second in the triple jump (33-7.5). Potter County’s Kayden Cronin won the triple jump (34-4). 

The Lemmon girls won the 3,200-meter relay (9:53.62) and the SBA girls won the sprint medley relay (4:30.80).
