Ipswich sweeps Lake Region Conference track and field team titles

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept the team titles at Tuesday’s Lake Region Conference track and field meet. 

The Ipswich boys finished with 134 points, edging North Central (133.5) for the team title. Faulkton Area (118) placed third. The Ipswich girls totaled 235 points, finishing ahead of Warner (187) and North Central (118). 

On the boys side, Kyle Hettich won the 100-meter dash (:11.03) and 200-meter dash (:22.49). Hettich, Casey Geditz, Brody Davis and Shay Knust won the 400-meter relay (:46.32). The same quartet won the 800-meter relay (1:37.28). Ipswich’s Tate Hogie won the discus (141-5). 

Faulkton Area’s Spencer Melius won the 110-meter hurdles (:15.10), the 300-meter hurdles (:42.96) and the javelin (172-0). Faulkton Area’s Korbin Stark won the 1,600-meter run (5:01.79) and the 3,200-meter run (11:14.93). 

Frederick Area’s Howard Sumption won the 800-meter run (2:20.01). Sumption, Milo Sumption, Noah Heuer and Westyn Thorpe won the 1,600-meter relay (3:40.57). Sumption, Sumption, Titus Kippley and Winston Clark won the 3,200-meter relay (9:18.67). 

Northwestern’s Carson Reppe, Brecken Halvorson, Ty Boekelheide and Drew Sparling won the sprint medley relay (4:12.72). Boekelheide added a first-place finish in the triple jump (45-1.75). 

Warner’s Jesiah Baum won the 400-meter dash (:54.93). Warner’s Chays Mansfield won the pole vault (12-10). 

Leola’s Jacob Kindelspire won the shot put (49-5.75). 

North Central’s Donovan Nelson won the high jump (5-8). 

Aberdeen Christian’s Dylan Hofer won the long jump (22-9.5). 

On the girls side, Ipswich’s Jalyssa Hutson won the pole vault (11-6), took second in the high jump (4-6) and placed second in the javelin (94-5). 

Ipswich’s Sophia Knittel won the 200-meter dash (:26.69) and took second in the 100-meter dash (:12.60). 

Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith won the 800-meter run (2:38.38), the 3,200-meter run (12:44.23) and placed second in the 1,600-meter run (5:58.96). Ipswich’s Madisyn Gellhaus took first place in the 1,600-meter run (5:58.91), second in the 800-meter run (2:38.55) and second in the 3,200-meter run (12:58.23). 

Aubree DeRaad won the 100-meter hurdles (:16.31) and 300-meter hurdles (:52.06) for the Tigers.

Brianna Geditz, Sophia Knittel, Gabrielle Wald and Luci Fuller won the 400-meter relay (:52.95). Geditz, Fuller, Wald and DeRaad won the 800-meter relay (1:55.87). 

Langford Area’s Paytyn Marlow won the 100-meter dash (:12.53) 

Warner’s MaKenna Leidholt won the 400-meter dash (1:04.73) and long jump (16-4). Warner’s Claire Bakeberg won the shot put (32-3.75). Miah Leidholt won the high jump (4-10) for the Monarchs. 

Northwestern’s Sienna Kessler, Brenna Halvorson, Elexis Kramp and Ella Boekelheide won the 1,600-meter relay (4:24.30). Rachel Melius, Halvorson, Lilly Haven and Boekelheide won the 3,200-meter relay (10:36.50). Halvorson, Melius, Kramp and Boekelheide won the sprint medley relay (4:36.48). 

North Central’s Jillian Fischer won the discus (108-6), while teammate Carleigh Dosch won the javelin (106-10). 

Aberdeen Christian’s Shawnteah La’Croix won the triple jump (36-2.5).
