Ipswich sweeps team titles at Charger Invitational

ONIDA — The Ipswich track and field teams won team titles at Tuesday’s Charger Invitational. 

The Ipswich boys won the team title with 93 points, ahead of Lyman (69.5) and Faulkton Area (68), while the Ipswich girls dominated with 162 points, ahead of North Central (66.25) and Lyman (60.25).

In the girls’ meet, Lyman’s Brooke Montgomery won the 100-meter (:12.29) and 200-meter dashes (:25.64).

Jones County’s BreAna Aske won the 400-meter race (:59.61) and also took the top spot in the long jump event (16-09.00).

Ipswich’s Isabella Galbraith secured the 1,600-meter run (5:31.97) while Jayla Stiles added a top spot in the 3,200-meter run (12:24.24).

Ipswich also swept the hurdle events, with Aubree DeRaad taking the 100-meter hurdles (:17.15) and Marley Guthmiller securing the 300-meter hurdles (:48.01).

Timber Lake’s Arianna Bieber, Hailey Roggow, Korbi Heck and Josie Boldt won the 400-meter relay (:52.88) and the 800-meter relay (1:53.00).

Ipswich won the 1,600-meter relay (4:17.84) with Guthmiller, DeRaad, Kalynn Oban and Shawna Henderson. 

Brianna Geditz, Gabrielle Wald, Henderson and Madisyn Gellhaus won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay for the Tigers, while Oban, Jennay Gisi, Isabella Henderson and Guthmiller added a top spot in the 3,200-meter relay (10:17.12).

In the field events, Ipswich’s Tristan Geditz secured the shot put event (34-09.25) and discus (113-07) events. Jalyssa Hutson also won the pole vault event (10-07) for the Tigers.

White River’s Page Wright secured the high jump event (4-11).

North Central’s Lindsey Geier took first place in the triple jump (32-05.50).

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Keilee Schone won the javelin throw (104-09).

In the boys’ meet, Ipswich’s Kyle Hettich won both the 100-meter (:10.87) and the 200-meter dashes (:22.23).

White River’s Hayden Hand won the 400-meter race (:53.54).

Dupree’s Tayshaun Cudmore won the 800-meter race (2:02.20) and the 1,600-meter run (4:36.01).

Bison’s Justin Burkhalter took the top spot in the 3,200-meter run (10:37.29).

Miller’s Isaak Hunter swept the 110-meter hurdles (:15.60) and the 300-meter hurdles (:41.96).

Ipswich’s Casey Geditz, Hettich, Brody Davis and Shay Knust secured the 400-meter relay (:44.75).

Timber Lake’s Broc Bauer, Landen Bieber, Owen Schweitzer and Braxton Farlee won the 800-meter relay while Bauer, Schweitzer, Jackson Bigger and Holden Gill secured the 1,600-meter relay (3:37.35).

Schweitzer, Bauer, Bieber and Gill won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay (3:51.69) for the Panthers as well.

Faulkton Area’s Logan Niederbaumer, Max Martinmaas, Cole Noon and Korbin Stark won the 3,200-meter relay (8:46.62).

In the field events, Sully Buttes’ Kadyn Westergren won the shot put event (48-11.50).

Lyman’s Dawsen Volmer won the high jump (6-00).

James Valley Christian’s Gavin Waldner won the long jump event (21-01.00).

Herreid/Selby Area’s Tyson Schumacher secured the triple jump event (42-06.00).

Faulkton Area’s Weston Senn took first place in the discus (133-02).

Ipswich’s Brody Davis won the pole vault (13-01).
