Avon 51, Freeman Academy/Marion 39

AVON — The Avon girls pulled ahead early and earned a comfortable win over Freeman Academy/Marion in girls basketball action Tuesday night. 

Courtney Sees led the Pirates with 20 points, six rebounds and five steals. Lila Vanderlei finished with 13 points and seven rebounds. McKenna Kocmich chipped in with eight points and four assists. 

Jada Koerner paced Freeman Academy/Marion with 18 points. Alivea Weber added 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Bearcats. 


Viborg-Hurley 45, Alcester-Hudson 20

ALCESTER — Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley used a strong second half to earn a win over Alcester-Hudson in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Coral Mason posted 24 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and six steals to lead Viborg-Hurley. 

Denae Mach posted nine points, six rebounds and five steals while Estelle Lee added seven points.

Ella Doering led Alcester-Hudson with eight points while Alexis Gray chipped in with four points. 


Vermillion 54, Madison 26

MADISON — Class A No. 4 Vermillion improved to 8-0 with a girls basketball win over Madison on Tuesday. 

Brooke Jensen scored 17 points, while Chandler Cleveland added 14 points. Taylor Reuvers added nine points. Brooklyn Voss scored eight points. 

Madison’s Audrey Nelson and Zoey Gerry scored 10 points apiece. Nelson added six rebounds, while Gerry collected five boards. 


Centerville 45, Scotland 28

CENTERVILLE — Centerville improved to 6-1 with a win over Scotland in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Thea Gust led Centerville with 14 points while teammate Mackenzie Meyer added nine points and seven rebounds. Bailey Hansen contributed four points, eight rebounds and three assists. 

Claire Janish led Scotland with eight points, four rebounds and three assists. Martina DeBoer added five points while Kailin Odens added four points and three rebounds. 


Flandreau 44, Garretson 29

FLANDREAU — Claire Sheppard scored her 1,000th career point as Flandreau picked up a girls basketball win over Garretson on Tuesday.

Sheppard finished with 19 points and eight rebounds. Lizzie Pavlis and Lily Klein scored nine points apiece. Klein had six rebounds and six steals, while Pavlis had six rebounds and three steals. 

Garreton’s Kylie Christensen and Sydney Olson scored seven and six points, respectively. 


Corsica-Stickney 54, Mitchell Christian 23

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney coasted to a girls basketball win over Mitchell Christian on Tuesday.

Corsica-Stickney’s Avery Broughton finished with 14 points, six rebounds and four assists. Payton DeLange added eight points, seven rebounds and three assists. Ashlyn Lefers recorded eight points, while Jacey Kemp had six points and four assists. 

Mitchell Christian’s Rebekah Strong and Kelsey Holderman scored seven points apiece. Holderman added five rebounds, while Strong had four rebounds. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 67, Elkton-Lake Benton 53

ELKTON — Behind Ella Griffin’s shooting performance, Dell Rapids St. Mary picked up a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Griffin nailed a school-record nine 3-pointers and scored 35 points in the win. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 60, Kimball/White Lake 32

WOONSOCKET — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket cruised past Kimball/White Lake for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

SCW’s Liz Boschee stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 13 rebounds, six steals, six assists, and five blocked shots. Kailynn Eggleston had 11 points, while Kenna Ochsner had seven points.

KWL was led by Ryann Nielsen with 13 points, while Ryann Grussing had seven points. Rylee McCord added five points.


Potter County 64, Stanley County 42

GETTYSBURG — Tyler Simon and Ashlee Kaup combined for 46 points as Potter County raced past Stanley County for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Simon led all scorers with 30 points and eight rebounds, while Kaup tallied 16 points and seven steals. Olivia Mikkelsen added seven points and seven rebounds.

Stanley County’s Mattie Duffy recorded 14 points, while Morgan Hoffman had 10 points and six boards. Cadence Hand added seven points.


Winner 45, North Central, Neb., 31

WINNER — Winner jumped out to a 16-2 first-quarter lead en route to a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Winner’s Lily Barfuss finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Keelie Kuil logged eight points, seven steals and six rebounds. Josey Kludt and Kylie Sachtjen scored seven points apiece. Preslie Petersek added five points. 


Parkston 50, Chamberlain 31

PARKSTON — Parkston pulled away from Chamberlain for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Parkston’s Abby Hohn finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks. Faith Oakley added 12 points and six rebounds. Gracie Oakley had eight points, six rebounds and five assists. Berkley Ziebart had seven points and five rebounds. 

Chamberlain’s Kinsley Evans logged 10 points and nine rebounds. Jayna Handel had nine points and six rebounds. 

 



Great Plains Lutheran 41, Estelline/Hendricks 39

WATERTOWN — Great Plains Lutheran held off Estelline/Hendricks to earn a win in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Olivia Holmen paced Great Plains Lutheran with 18 points. Myra Lentz, Abby Kjenstad and Katherine Prahl each scored six points for the Panthers. 

Kenzy Beare powered Estelline/Hendricks with 23 points. Brooke Johnson had seven points with Sadie Johnson chipping in five points. 


Arlington 60, Deuel 42

ARLINGTON — Four players notched double-figures as Arlington defeated Deuel in high school girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Jaelyn Huntimer  led the Cardinals with 17 points with teammate Addalyn Steffensen adding 16 points and six rebounds. Jolyssa Steffensen finished with 11 points while Harley Johnson chipped in ten points. 

Jaycee Hourigan and Harley Hennings paced Deuel with ten points apiece. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 66, Tripp-Delmont/Armour 32

LAKE ANDES — Mahpiya Irving and Allison Muckey combined for 35 points to pace Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Irving finished with 18 points, while Muckey added 17 points. Josie Brouwer logged eight points and eight rebounds. Josie Brouwer scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds. Gabby Olson had eight rebounds. 

Tripp-Delmont/Armour’s Megan Reiner finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Hannah Stremick logged eight points, while Mia Reiner had 11 rebounds. 


Milbank 69, Tiospa Zina 38

AGENCY VILLAGE — A hot shooting Milbank team earned a win over Tiospa Zina in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Tyra Berry led Milbank with 19 points. Maurina Street added 16 points and eight rebounds. Isabella Anderson finished with 14 points and three assists. 

Alexa Quinn managed nine points and six rebounds for Tiospa Zina. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 71, Faulkton Area 43

ABERDEEN — Ava Hanson and Maddie Huber combined for 49 points as Aberdeen Roncalli raced past Faulkton Area for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Hanson erupted for 35 points and eight 3-pointers, while Huber tallied 14 points and six rebounds. Morgan Helms added six points.

Faulkton Area’s Addison Melius recorded 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kelli Stoecker had 10 points. Gabby Kast added eight points.


Freeman 61, Parker 34

PARKER — Three players reached double figures as the Freeman girls garnered a win over Parker in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Kate Miller powered Freeman with 16 points while adding five rebounds. Ashlan Jacobsen tallied 14 points and eight rebounds while Rylee Peters added ten points. 

Janae Olson led Parker with 14 points and five rebounds. Parker Lessman scored eight points with Hope Larson adding five points. 


Tea Area 63, Tri-Valley 54

TEA — Three players scored in double figures to pace Tea Area to a girls basketball win over Tri-Valley. 

Mara Grant finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Haidyn West added 12 points and hit three 3-pointers. Kendra McKinney logged 10 points and seven rebounds. Miah Weber scored eight points. 

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde posted 18 points and four assists. Ava Pearson finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots. Stephanie Buchmann had nine points and eight rebounds. Hailey Sorenson added six points and six rebounds.
