Boys

Jones County 51, Stanley County 43

MURDO — Jones County used a 17-10 fourth quarter to secure a Jones County Invitational boys basketball win on Thursday.

Jones County’s Cooper Feddersen recorded 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Kaden Kinsley added 16 points and seven assists. Jett Nix scored nine points and seven rebounds, while Gunnar Whitney added six points. 

Stanley County’s Broch Zeeb scored 17 points, while Kaden Montana added 13 points. Paxton Deal scored six points. 


White River 81, Bennett County 24

MURDO — Joe Sayler and Nic Marshall combined for 46 points to power Class B No. 1 White River to a boys basketball win at the Jones County Invitational on Thursday. 

Sayler finished with 23 points and five 3-pointers. Marshall scored 23 points, while T.J. Beardt logged 14 points. Mackenzie Wike added six points. 

Bennett County’s Kaden Cottier scored 11 points, while Lante Cottier added five points.


Hanson 47, Parker 32

ALEXANDRIA — Ethan Cheeseman and Jayce Slaba combined for 27 points to pace Hanson to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Cheeseman finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Slaba added 13 points. Jackson Jarding recorded seven points, four assists and four steals. 

Parker’s Ray Travnicek and Seth VanVleit scored 14 and nine points, respectively. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 72, Platte-Geddes 59

PLATTE — Mount Vernon/Plankinton pulled away from Platte-Geddes for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

MVP’s Reed Rus led the way with 32 points, while Jordan Stoltz added 17 points. 


Parkston 56, Wagner 42

PARKSTON — Three players scored in double figures as Parkston pulled away from Wagner for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Parkston’s Will Jodozi tallied 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Kaleb Weber had 13 points and seven assists. Luke Bormann had 11 points and eight rebounds, while James Deckert added nine points.

Wagner’s Preston McFayden led with 14 points.


Dakota Valley 86, Hartington Cedar Catholic, Neb., 64

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley stayed undefeated with a boys basketball win over Hartington Cedar Catholic, Neb., on Thursday.

Isaac Bruns finished with 27 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Jaxon Hennies added 14 points and four 3-pointers. Randy Rosenquist Jr., had 17 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Jaxson Wingert logged 15 points and five rebounds. 


Castlewood 62, Great Plains Lutheran 21

CASTLEWOOD — Class B No. 4 Castlewood picked up a boys basketball win over Great Plains Lutheran on Thursday. 

Bryon Laue and Lane Tvedt scored 17 points apiece, while Tvedt grabbed seven rebounds. Bowen Ryan added six points. Jackson Schofield and Quincy Thu scored five points apiece, while Schofield grabbed five rebounds. 

GPL’s Alex Heil scored eight points and Austin Rubendall had five points. 


De Smet 69, Iroquois/Lake Preston 23

LAKE PRESTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 3 De Smet to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

De Smet’s Damon Wilkinson finished with 21 points and nine rebounds. Kadyn Fast added 19 points, while Thomas Aughenbaugh had 12 points on four 3-pointers and had four steals. Kasen Janssen logged eight points. 

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Riley Casper finished with seven points and five rebounds. Logan Peskey added six points and six rebounds. 


Miller 76, Sully Buttes 59

MILLER — Miller pulled away from Sully Buttes for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Miller’s Isaak Hunter finished with 21 points. 

Wesley Wittler had 28 points for the Chargers. 


Scotland 47, Avon 27

SCOTLAND — Scotland picked up a boys basketball win over Avon on Thursday.

Scotland’s Kory Keppen finished with 21 points, while Trenten Skorepa added 10 points. Stephen Johnson scored eight points. 

Avon’s Trace Pelton scored eight points and Aziah Meyer added six points. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 61, Arlington 26

ARLINGTON — Elkton-Lake Benton cruised past Arlington for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

ELB was led by Tanner Drietz with 14 points, while Ryan Krog recorded 13 points and six steals. Carson Griffith had 11 points and seven rebounds, while Tanner Stein added six points.

Arlington’s Blake Madsen logged 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Riley Miller added nine points.


Milbank 62, Redfield 32

REDFIELD — Garrett Mertens and Jaxson Wildung combined for 42 points to lead Milbank to a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Mertens finished with 24 points and four 3-pointers, while Wildung tallied 16 points. Joe Schulte added 10 points.

Redfield’s Mitchell Mack had nine points, while Justin Ratigan had seven points.


Florence/Henry 71, Britton-Hecla 43

BRITTON — Florence/Henry earned a boys basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Thursday.

Florence/Henry was led by Mehki Keller with 19 points, while Ty Bergh had 16 points. Clay Trupe had 14 points, while Peyton Roe added nine points.

Britton-Hecla’s BoDell Davidson tallied 14 points, while Will Schuller had eight points. Landon Carlson, Ashton Mills, and Ty Fagerland each had six points.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 79, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 42

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary picked up a boys basketball win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday.

Nic Gaspar finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Maverick LeBrun added 18 points, while Trevon Beckman scored 16 points. 

ORR’s Caden Hojer scored 15 points. 


Beresford 69, Tri-Valley 40

COLTON — Beresford pulled away from Tri-Valley for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Tate VanOtterloo finished with 24 points and eight rebounds. Andrew Atwood added 13 points and nine rebounds. Malachi James had nine points. 

Tri-Valley’s Trey Johnson finished with 12 points, while Noah Haynes scored nine points. 


Girls 

Viborg-Hurley 68, Gayville-Volin 21

GAYVILLE — Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley cruised past Gayville-Volin for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

VIborg-Hurley’s Coral Mason and Denae Mach each had 17 points and eight rebounds, while Mach also had six steals. Estelle Lee had nine points, while Charley Nelson added seven points.

Gavyille-Volin’s Taylor Hoxeng tallied 11 points.


Wagner 59, Parkston 35

PARKSTON — Class A No. 2 Wagner rolled to a girls basketball win over Parkston on Thursday. 

Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal finished with 26 points and eight rebounds, while Lydia Yost added nine points. Macy Koupal recorded eight points and six rebounds. 

Parkston’s Abby Hohn recorded nine points and seven rebounds. Faith Oakley logged eight points and five boards. Mya Thuringer logged six points and four rebounds, while Keeara Oakley had five points and four rebounds. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 55, Platte-Geddes 46

PLATTE — Three players scored in double figures to lift Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win over Platte-Geddes on Thursday.

Kyia Schmidt finished with 16 points, while Regan Rus added 13 points. Emilee Fox netted 11 points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Baleigh Nachtigal scored 16 points, while Autumn Breukelman and Karly VanDerWerff scored 11 points apiece. Cadence VanZee recorded 10 points and Regan Hoffman scored five points. 


Corsica-Stickney 36, Winner 27

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney broke away from a 23-23 tie with a 13-4 fourth quarter to secure a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Corsica-Stickney’s Avery Broughton finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Payton DeLange added 11 points, while Braylee Bordewyk added six points. Jacey Kemp collected six rebounds and dished out four assists. 

Winner’s Josey Kludt recorded seven points, while Cora Moss finished with five points. 


Howard 63, Canistota 41

HOWARD — Howard used a 21-8 second quarter to pull away from Canistota for a girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Dakota Spader added 11 points and three 3-pointers. Kate Connor and Trinity Palmquist scored eight points apiece. Palmquist recorded six rebounds and six steals. Canyon Kidd added six points. 

Canistota’s Kayla Papendick finished with 12 points and six rebounds. Bailey Spicer added eight points. Ellie Becker, Natalie Becker and Alyssa Pierson scored five points apiece. Natalie Becker added nine rebounds and three steals. 


Hanson 75, Parker 25

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson coasted to a girls basketball win over Parker on Thursday.

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber finished with 15 points and five rebounds. Alyssa Moschell added 12 points, while Eliza Oltmanns logged 11 points. Taziah Hawkins scored 10 points. Karlie Goergen had eight points and four steals. Erin Dewald recorded five steals. 

Parker Lessman had eight points for the Pheasants. Janae Olson added six points and seven rebounds. 


Scotland 53, Avon 49

SCOTLAND — Scotland edged Avon for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Scotland’s Trinity Bietz tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Bailey Vitek had 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Claire Janish and Martina DeBoer each added eight points.

Avon’s Courtney Sees scored a game-high 22 points, while McKenna Kocmich recorded 15 points. Lila Vanderlei added six points and seven rebounds.


Lyman 57, Stanley County 41

PRESHO — Mak Scott and Skyler Volmer combined for 46 points to pace Lyman to a girls basketball win over Stanley County. 

Scott finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, six steals and four blocked shots. Volmer added 20 points and eight rebounds. Jordyn Scott and Annie Brakke scored points apiece. Scott added seven rebounds and Brakke had five boards. 


Andes Central/Dakota Christian 70, Mitchell Christian 23

NEW HOLLAND — Three players scored in double figures to lift Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a girls basketball win over Mitchell Christian on Thursday. 

ACDC’s Allison Muckey finished with 16 points and six steals. Mahpiya Irving logged 15 points, while Josie Brouwer added 13 points. Neveah Morgan had seven points. Halle Olson and Gabbi Olson had eight and seven rebounds, respectively.

Mitchell Christian’s Madelyn Nebelsek had six points, while Kelsey Holdemann had six rebounds. 


De Smet 68, Iroquois/Lake Preston 51

IROQUOIS — De Smet raced past Iroquois/Lake Preston for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

De Smet’s Jada Burke had 20 points, while Hazel Luethmers had 18 points.

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s recorded a game-high 35 points and four steals, while Hadlee Holt had six points and seven rebounds. Faith Steffensen added nine rebounds.


Deubrook Area 39, Estelline/Hendricks 28

WHITE — Deubrook Area picked up a girls basketball win over Estelline/Hendricks on Thursday.

Deubrook Area’s Skyla Petersen had 14 points, while Ellie Koenig had 10 points. Matte Bauman added seven points.

Estelline/Hendricks was led by Sadie Johnson with eight points, while Kenzy Beare had seven points.


Northwestern 58, Ipswich 38

IPSWICH — Northwestern picked up a girls basketball win over Ipswich on Thursday.

Northwestern’s Adriana Ratigan totaled 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Ella Boekelheide and Ashley Haven each had 14 points and six assists. Ella Haven added eight points and seven rebounds.

Ipswich’s Baylee Kulesa tallied 11 points and six rebounds, while Marley Guthmiller had 10 points.


Sioux Falls Christian 60, Tea Area 37

TEA — Sioux Falls Christian jumped out to a 18-8 first-quarter lead en route to a girls basketball win over Tea Area. 

Sioux Falls Christian’s Ellie Lems recorded 16 points, while Peyton Poppema recorded 12 points and five rebounds. Brenna Beyke logged nine points on three 3-pointers. Maya Nelson scored seven points, while Katie Vander Leest scored five points. Moriah Harrison had nine rebounds and four points. 

Tea Area’s Kendra McKinney finished with 12 points, while Mara Grant logged eight points and 10 rebounds. Ellie Clayberg had five points. 


Tri-Valley 52, Beresford 40

COLTON — Tri-Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Beresford on Thursday.

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde and Mattie Huwe scored 18 and 13 points, respectively. 

Beresford’s Ella Merriman scored 13 points and Harley Koth netted 10 points.
