Vermillion 47, Elk Point-Jefferson 46

ELK POINT — Class A No. 2 Vermillion escaped with a one-point girls basketball win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Tuesday. 

Vermillion’s Brooke Jensen scored 19 points, while Brooklyn Voss added eight points. Taylor Reuvers had three points and four steals, including the game-winning free-throw with 1.6 seconds left.

EPJ was led by Kaitlyn Van Roekel with 14 points, while Bentlee Kollbaum logged 13 points and six rebounds. Ashley Brewer added 10 points and five rebounds.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian 68, Corsica-Stickney 47

NEW HOLLAND — Three players scored in double figures as Andes Central/Dakota Christian pulled away from Corsica-Stickney for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

ACDC was led by Allison Muckey with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Josie Brouwer tallied 16 points. Gabbi Olson had 12 points, while Halle Olson added nine points, 11 rebounds, and three steals.

CS was led by Avery Broughton with 18 points, while also scoring her 2,000th career point. Sutten Eide added eight points. 


Howard 58, Hanson 55

HOWARD — Three players scored in double figures as Howard edged Hanson in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Howard’s Abby Aslesen finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Trinity Palmquist logged 14 points and seven rebounds. Kate Connor added 13 points and nine rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch had six points, six rebounds and four assists. Canyon Kidd had five points. 

Hanson’s Annalyse Weber finished with 14 points, while Eliza Oltmanns had 11 points. Alyssa Moschell, Erin Dewald and Taziah Hawkins scored eight points apiece. Moschell grabbed seven rebounds. 

Lyman 67, White River 24

WHITE RIVER — Mak Scott and Skyler Volmer combined for 49 points to power Lyman to a girls basketball win over White River on Tuesday. 

Mak Scott logged 36 points and eight rebounds. Volmer added 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists. McKenzie Laverdure had five points and eight rebounds.


Burke 49, Platte-Geddes 39

BURKE — Burke held off Platte-Geddes for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Brecken Bolander finished with 12 points. Paige Bull had eight points and eight rebounds. Adisyn Indahl logged seven points. Bridget Bartling added nine rebounds, while Elly Witt had five assists. 

Platte-Geddes’ Baleigh Nachtigal scored 13 points, while Cadence Van Zee had 14 rebounds. 


North Central 44, Ipswich 20

IPSWICH — North Central picked up a girls basketball win over Ipswich on Tuesday. 

North Central’s Brittney Frickson finished with 16 points, while Ella Batie added 12 points. Jenisa Jacobs scored eight points.

Ipswich’s Gabby Wald and Marley Guthmiller scored seven points apiece. 


Kimball/White Lake 46, Bridgewater-Emery 43

WHITE LAKE — Kimball/White Lake edged Bridgewater-Emery for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

KWL’s Ryann Nielsen led with 20 points and 13 rebounds, while Harley Namanny tallied 15 points and seven rebounds. Dani Deffenbaugh grabbed nine rebounds.

BE’s Oakley Weber logged 26 points, while Hayden Hofer had 12 points. Summer Koch grabbed eight rebounds.


Canistota 35, Freeman Academy/Marion 30

CANISTOTA — Canistota held off a second half rally to earn a win over Freeman Academy/Marion in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Kayla Papendick led Canistota with 13 points and seven rebounds. Bailey Spicer added ten points and seven rebounds. 

Jada Koemer paced Freeman Academy/Marion with ten points while Alivea Weber added eight points and four rebounds. 


Viborg-Hurley 58, Avon 29

HURLEY — Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley flew past Avon for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Viborg-Hurley’s Denae Mach poured in 26 points and eight rebounds, while Coral Mason had 11 points and eight rebounds. Charley Nelson and Aubree Schwartz each had six points, while Shelby Lyons added five points.

Avon’s Courtney Sees had 10 points, while Lila Vanderlei and Rilyn Thury added six and five points, respectively.


Centerville 55, Freeman 43

CENTERVILLE — Centerville’s balanced scoring attack helped the girls basketball team earn a win over Freeman on Tuesday. 

Thea Gust led the way with 16 points, four rebounds and three steals. Keira Austin finished with ten points while Mackenzie Meyer and Lillie Eide scored nine points apiece. Bailey Hansen added five points and 12 rebounds. 

Kate Miller led Freeman with 26 points and seven rebounds. Cami Fransen and Ashlin Jacobsen each finished with eight points. 


Lennox 59, Parker 27

LENNOX — Lennox raced past Parker for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Lennox was led by Carli Kuyper with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Ryan Hanssen totaled 15 points. Courtney Sandal and Andie Peters each added nine points.

Parker was led by Janae Olson with nine points.


Flandreau 61, Deuel 22

DEUEL — Flandreau had a pair of double figure scorers during Tuesday’s win over Deuel in girls basketball action. 

Claire Sheppard paced the Fliers with 13 points. Sadie Lott added 12 points while Lily Klein and Hannah Krull each scored eight points. 

Harley Hennings led Deuel with eight points while Josie Andersen chipped in seven points. 

 

Wolsey-Wessington 58, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 43

HURON — Class B No. 2 Wolsey-Wessington picked up a 281 Conference Tournament win over Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Tuesday.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Mallory Miller totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Leah Williams recorded 14 points and four assists, while Mya Boomsma had 12 points.

SCW’s Kenna Ochsner had 16 points and three assists, while Liz Boschee tallied 15 points and three steals. Kam Oschner added seven points.


Wessington Springs 47, James Valley Christian 37

HURON — Wessington Springs picked up a 281 Conference Tournament win over James Valley Christian on Tuesday.

WS was led by Avery Orth with 24 points, while Kate Havlik tallied eight points. Kirstie Munsen added seven points.

JVC was led by Lily Hofer with 14 points, while Alexa Goertz tallied 12 points.


Iroquois/Lake Preston 51, Highmore-Harrold 46

WOLSEY — Iroquois/Lake Preston outlasted Highmore-Harrold for a girls basketball win at the 281 Conference Tournament on Tuesday.

ILP’s Hadlee Holt totaled 20 points, while Adison Moore recorded 14 points. Faith Steffensen added six points.

HH’s Brooke Palmer tallied 19 points, while Autumn Fallis had eight points.


Faulkton Area 54, Aberdeen Christian 22

FAULKTON — Faulkton Area cruised past Aberdeen Christian for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Faulkton Area’s Addison Melius tallied 16 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Paislee Martinmaas logged 12 points, nine rebounds, and three steals, while Gabby Kast had eight points. Kelli Stoecker and Jaymi Senn had seven and six points, respectively. Senn and Olivia Hadrick each grabbed seven rebounds.

Aberdeen Christian was led by Chloe Bosma with 11 points, seven rebounds, and four steals. Sophia Fogarty had 10 points, while Jolie Fogarty added eight rebounds.


Milbank 46, Waubay/Summit 41

MILBANK — Milbank used a big third quarter on their way to a win over Waubay/Summit in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Maurina Street powered Milbank with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Isablle Anderson finished with 11 points and four rebounds while Tyra Berry contributed eight points and five steals. 

Eva Benike led Waubay/Summit with 18 points and seven rebounds. Faith Larson finished with ten points and three rebounds. 


Tri-Valley 54, Deubrook Area 40

COLTON — Tri-Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Deubrook Area on Tuesday.

Tri-Valley’s Mattie Huwe scored 22 points, while Lauren Grinde added 10 points.

Deubrook Area’s Ellie Koenig tallied 14 points, while Skyla Petersen had six points and seven rebounds. Delaney Pedersen also had six points, while Kadence Bowne grabbed nine rebounds.

 



Harrisburg 40, Sioux Falls Washington 39

SIOUX FALLS — Makinley Lawrenson’s basket as time expired lifted Class AA No. 5 Harrisburg to an upset win over Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Washington on Tuesday.

Harrisburg’s Abigail Flanagan led with 12 points, while Hannah Eide had 10 points. Jaylee Hofer tallied eight points.

Sioux Falls Washington’s Brooklyn Harpe led all scorers with 19 points, while Grace Peterson added nine points and seven rebounds.


Rapid City Stevens 69, Sturgis 26

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Stevens raced past Sturgis for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Rapid City Stevens was led by Taaliyah Porter with 20 points and eight rebounds, while Izzy Higgins tallied 12 points and six rebounds. Gabbie Love had nine points, while Macey Wathen added eight points, six rebounds, and four assists. Finley Love and Claire Fierro each added six points.

Sturgis was led by Tori Williams and Landry Haugen with six points apiece.
