Brandon Valley 53, Pierre 52

BRANDON — Cole Dekker converted an offensive rebound at the buzzer to lift Brandon Valley to a boys basketball win over Class AA No. 3 Pierre on Thursday. 

Brandon Valley’s Lukas Morgan finished with 18 points, while Landon Dulaney added 13 points. Josh Olthoff scored eight points, while Nate VandeBerg had five points. Dekker scored four points. 

Pierre’s Jackson Edman scored 16 points, while Lincoln Kienholz had 13 points. Brecken Krueger netted 12 points, all on 3-pointers. Benjamin Heisler scored nine points. 


Madison 62, Dell Rapids 61

MADISON — Aiden Jensen’s monster double-double helped Madison edge Dell Rapids in a boys basketball contest on Thursday. 

Jensen finished with 39 points, 13 rebounds and three blocked shots. Ben Brooks added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Andrew Comes had seven points and scored the game-winning layup with nine seconds left. 

Dell Rapids’ Brayden Pankonen finished with 20 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five 3-pointers. Camden Justice had 15 points and hit three 3-pointers. Jack Henry recorded 11 points and six rebounds. Will Jaton scored five points. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 62, Chester Area 53

CHESTER — Dell Rapids St. Mary earned a road win over Chester Area in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Trevon Beckman led the Cardinals with 22 points and seven rebounds. Nic Gasper added 17 points and seven rebounds with CJ Smith dishing out six assists. 

Sophomore Layke Wold led Chester Area with 16 points while Clay Hansen added 15 points. Jovi Wolf had six rebounds and five assists for Chester Area. 


Sioux Valley 100, Deubrook Area 47 

WHITE — Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley erupted for 100 points and 19 3-pointers en route to a boys basketball win over Deubrook Area on Thursday. 

Oliver Vincent tossed in 26 points and nailed six 3-pointers. Patrick Carey added 20 points and hit four 3-pointers. Maxwell Engebretson finished with 12 points, while Maverick Nelson had 11 points and three 3-pointers. Hudsyn Ruesink scored nine points. Alec Squires and Jace Christensen scored eight points apiece. 

Deubrook Area’s Jake Jorenby scored 15 points, while Treven Grimsrud added 10 points. Gavin Landmark and Cooper Holmlund scored seven and six points, respectively. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 54, Colman-Egan 38

ELKTON — Three players scored in double figures as Elkton-Lake Benton garnered a 54-38 win over Colman-Egan in boys basketball action Thursday. 

Ryan Krog paced the Elks with 19 points and nine rebounds. Carson Griffith added 13 points and 11 rebounds while Garrett Neill finished with 10 points. 

Sawyer Uhing and Camden Schmidt each had nine points to lead Colman-Egan. Logan Voelker chipped in with seven points. 


Leola/Frederick Area 59, Northwestern 56 (OT)

MELLETTE — Sam Vetter nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Leola/Frederick Area to a boys basketball win over Northwestern on Thursday.

Noah Kippley finished with 22 points, while Brayden Sumption added 13 points. 


James Valley Christian 74, Wolsey-Wessington 59

HURON — Three players scored in double figures as James Valley Christian defeated Wolsey-Wessington to claim the 281 Conference Tournament title on Thursday. 

Landon Wager finished with a game high 24 points to pace James Valley Christian. Dax Frandsen added 15 points and three assists with Jerrad Wallman scoring ten points and grabbing four rebounds. 

Moshe Richmond led Wolsey-Wessington with 18 points. Tate French added 17 points and nine rebounds while Blaze Herdman finished with 11 points. 


Highmore-Harrold 67, Hitchcock-Tulare 57

HURON — Four players scored in double figures to pace Highmore-Harrold to a 281 Conference Tournament win on Thursday.

Highmore-Harrold’s Treyton Knox logged 20 points and five rebounds. Carson Stephenson added 17 points and hit five 3-pointers. Mason Knox scored 12 points and added five steals. Bryce Bourk logged 11 points and seven rebounds. Dawson Hale had five points. 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s T.J. Salmen logged 14 points and eight rebounds. Jackson Maynard scored 11 points and hit three 3-pointers. Carter Binger had 10 points and four rebounds. Riley Fliehe and Cole Schroeder scored six points apiece.


Wessington Springs 82, Iroquois/Lake Preston 42

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to lift Wessington Springs to a 281 Conference Tournament win on Thursday.

Ryder Michalek recorded 29 points and 10 boards. Blake Larson and Parker Graff scored 15 points apiece. Brock Krueger scored nine points and dished out 10 assists. Colby Flowers added eight points. 

Iroquois/Lake Preston’s Josh McMasters and Tobias Arbeiter scored 12 points apiece. Logan Peskey added 10 points and six rebounds. Riley Casper scored seven points and collected six rebounds. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 52, Sunshine Bible Academy 25

HURON — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket picked up a seventh-place finish over Sunshine Bible Academy at the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday.

SCW was led by Jeff Boschee with 16 points, while Hayden Beigh had seven points, six rebounds, three steals, and three assists. Bryce Larson had six points and three assists, while Trey Moody also had six points. Payton Uecker and Brady Larson grabbed six and five rebounds, respectively.

SBA was led by Daniel Gerbracht with 13 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Jensen Wipf added six points. 


Herreid/Selby Area 54, North Central 30

EUREKA — Three players scored in double figures as Herreid/Selby Area earned a road win over North Central. 

Tray Hettick paced Herreid/Selby Area with 19 points. Brenden Begeman added 15 points while Trevor Gill finished with 10 points. 

Raynor Sprague led North Central with eight points while Dawson Walz added seven points.
