Wolsey-Wessington 56, Wessington Springs 38

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to lift Class B No. 2 Wolsey-Wessington to the 281 Conference Tournament title on Thursday.

Wolsey-Wessington’s Mallory Miller finished with 25 points and eight rebounds. Leah Williams added 15 points, while Mya Boomsma had 12 points. 

Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth logged 14 points and eight boards. Kirstie Munsen finished with 13 points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 42, James Valley Christian 37

HURON — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket edged James Valley Christian for a third-place finish at the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday.

SCW’s Liz Boschee recorded 18 points and 12 rebounds. Jaycee Baruth added six points. Kennadie Ochsner and Kamryn Ochnser scored five points apiece. 

JVC’s Kaylie Robinson scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds. Alexa Goertz and Darli Frandsen scored seven points apiece. Addison Bartholow added six points. 


Iroquois/Lake Preston 70, Hitchcock-Tulare 51

HURON — Adison Moore tossed in 34 points to pace Iroquois/Lake Preston to a fifth-place finish at the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday. 

Moore nailed six pointers, grabbed eight rebounds and added five assists. Hadlee Holt added 20 points and eight boards, while Faith Steffensen logged five points. 

Hitchcock-Tulare’s Katelyn Schroeder scored 18 points and collected eight boards, while Gracelyn Bixler had 13 points. Isabel Gilbert added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Cambree Hoeckman scored seven points. 


Highmore-Harrold 50, Sunshine Bible Academy 22

HURON — Highmore-Harrold raced past Sunshine Bible Academy for a seventh-place finish at the 281 Conference Tournament on Thursday.

Highmore-Harrold’s Kendall Cermak tallied 14 points and five rebounds, while Addison McDonnell had seven points. Autumn Fallis and Kenidey Effling grabbed nine and six rebounds, respectively.

SBA was led by Sadie Konechne with seven points and eight rebounds, while Brielle Jeffery had six points. Betra Amare had five points and seven rebounds, while Abby Hinman added five rebounds, four steals, and four assists.

 

Faulkton Area 45, Ipswich 31

FAULKTON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Faulkton Area to a girls basketball win over Ipswich on Thursday.

Faulkton Area’s Addison Moore and Paislee Martinmaas scored 14 points apiece. Martinmaas added nine rebounds. Carley Cotton scored 11 points. 

Ipswich’s Ashlyn Weyg scored 13 points, while Gabby Wald had seven points.


Waubay/Summit 46, Aberdeen Christian 14

SUMMIT — Waubay/Summit picked up a win over Aberdeen Christian in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Eva Benike led Waubay/Summit with 14 points. Madison Zirbel finished with nine points and Brianna Lindholm added seven points. 

Chloe Bosma led Aberdeen Christian with six points. 


Milbank 40, Groton Area 33

MILBANK — Milbank pulled away late to earn a win over Groton Area in girls basketball action Thursday. 

Maurina Street led Milbank with 12 points and six rebounds. Siera Wenzl scored 10 points with Isabella Anderson chipping in seven points and six rebounds. 

Sydney Leicht led Groton Area with 11 points. Jaedyn Penning added eight points with Kennedy Hansen scoring seven points. 


Brandon Valley 75, Pierre 69 

PIERRE — Brandon Valley outlasted Class AA No. 4 Pierre for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Brandon Valley’s Hilary Behrens finished with 29 points and hit four 3-pointers. Alyvia Padgett recorded 13 points, while Ava Kellenberger scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Kennedi Deckert added eight points, while Jaida Metzger had seven points. Paisley Hoff scored six points. 

Pierre’s Lennix DuPris logged 18 points, while Remington Price posted 15 points. Reese Terwilliger scored 10 points and Aleise Christopherson finished with nine points. Ayvrie Kaiser and Sydney Tedrow scored six points apiece, while Kaiser collected nine rebounds. 


Sioux Falls Washington 63, Marshall, Minn., 50 

MARSHALL, Minn. — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Washington turned a four-point halftime deficit into a 13-point girls basketball win on Thursday. 

Brooklyn Harpe finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Hannah Harpe added 12 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. Ava Brink scored eight points, while Taryn Larson had seven points. Grace Peterson had six points, while Shae Fink and Claire Woods had five points apiece.
