Boys

Colome 66, Bennett County 24

COLOME — Colome jumped out to a 21-7 first-quarter lead en route to a boys basketball win over Bennett County on Tuesday.

Colome’s Joseph Laprath tossed in 26 points, while Alec Thieman added 11 points. Eli Vobr scored nine points.

Bennett County’s Christin Poor Bear had eight points and Lante Cottier scored six points. Devon Featherman added five points. 


Aberdeen Central 84, Pierre 82 (2OT) 

ABERDEEN — Spencer Barr erupted for 51 points to power Aberdeen Central to a boys basketball win over Class AA No. 4 Pierre on Tuesday.

Barr finished 17 of 27 from the field, 7 of 14 from the 3-point line and 10 of 13 at the foul line. He forced double overtime with a driving layup as time expired in the first overtime. Barr's 51-point performance tied with Rapid City Stevens' Eric Piatkowski for the fourth highests individual scoring game in Class AA boys basketball history. Eric Kline holds the Aberdeen Central school record with 59 points, the highest individual scoring game in Class AA boys basketball history. 

Jett Carlson added 16 points and hit five 3-pointers for the Golden Eagles. Carter Dingman tossed in 10 points and Cooper Eisenbiesz scored five points. Aberdeen Central hit 15 of 32 3-point attempts. 

Pierre’s Lincoln Kienholz put in 33 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Benjamin Heisler recorded 18 points and 10 boards. Jackson Edman added 14 points and nine rebounds. Cade Kaiser had eight points and Jacob Mayer scored five points. 


Winner 52, Todd County 49 

WINNER — Blake Volmer and Aiden Barfuss combined for 31 points to pace Winner to a boys basketball win over Todd County on Tuesday.

Volmer finished with 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Barfuss recorded 14 points and four steals. Shawn Hammerbeck added eight points and eight boards. Ethan Bartels collected six rebounds. 

Todd County’s Charles Long recorded 16 points and six assists. Ray Crow logged 13 points and six rebounds. Sayge Yellow Eagle tossed in eight points, while Ty Valandra added six rebounds and four points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 76, Wagner 40 

PLANKINTON — Four players scored in double figures to lift Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Wagner. 

MVP’s Zach Baker tossed in 20 points. Reed Rus stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 11 assists, nine steals and eight rebounds. Jordan Stoltz and Blaine Bohr scored 12 points apiece. Stoltz added six rebounds and four blocked shots. 


Canistota 60, Chester Area 45

CHESTER — Tage Ortman and Brandon Kjetland combined for 33 points as Canistota earned a road win over Chester Area in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Ortman paced the Hawks with 21 points and seven rebounds. Kjetland had 12 points and seven rebounds while Noah Kleinsasser dished out five assists. 

Jovi Wolf paced Chester Area with 21 points. Layke Wold added 12 points and two assists while Clay Hansen finished with 10 rebounds. 


Castlewood 81, Colman-Egan 29 

CASTLEWOOD — Three players scored in double figures to pace Castlewood to a boys basketball win over Colman-Egan on Tuesday. 

Castlewood’s Lane Tvedt logged 22 points and buried four 3-pointers. Joe Decker added 15 points and hit three 3-pointers, while Jackson Schofield had 10 points. Jamison Keszler scored nine points and Bennett Johnson added eight points. Quincy Thu scored five points.

Colman-Egan’s Jase Mousel recorded 12 points. Tyce Ryan scored five points. 


Faith 66, Potter County 48

GETTYSBURG — Three players scored in double figures as Faith picked up a win over Potter County in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Jackson Schauer led the Longhorns with 28 points, three assists and two steals. Caden Selby and Rylan Palmer both had 12 points while Matthew Gray had six points and 13 rebounds. 

Alex Tanner led Potter County with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Ryder Falkenhagen had eight points while Landon Larson chipped in with six points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 55, Hanson 49 

FORESTBURG — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket clipped Hanson in boys basketball action on Tuesday. 

SCW’s Jeff Boschee netted 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out four assists. Bryce Larson recorded 10 points and five rebounds. Toby Kneen and Cody Slykhuis grabbed seven rebounds apiece. Slykhuis had four assists. 

Hanson’s Ethan Cheeseman scored 19 points and Jayce Slaba added 13 points. 


Wolsey-Wessington 54, Sunshine Bible Academy 22

MILLER — Three players scored in double figures as Wolsey-Wessington earned a win over Sunshine Bible Academy in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Moshe Richmond led the Warbirds with 14 points, two assists and two steals. Ricky Maurovic added 13 points and six rebounds while Tate French added 12 points and nine rebounds. 

Nolan Triebwasser and Jensen Wipf each scored seven points to pace Sunshine Bible Academy. 


Tripp-Delmont/Armour 55, Centerville 33 

TRIPP — Isaac Wunder and Jaden Groeneweg combined for 40 points as Tripp-Delmont/Armour picked up a win over Centerville in boys basketball action Tuesday. Wunder paced TDA with 22 points and six rebounds. Groenweg had 18 points and four rebounds. Riley Spaans finished with six points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals. 

Aiden Bobzin paced Centerville with 19 points. Logan Bobzin added 11 points for Centerville. 


Leola/Frederick Area 64, Britton-Hecla 28 

FREDERICK — Leola/Frederick Area coasted to a boys basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Tuesday. 

Leola/Frederick Area’s Noah Kippley scored 24 points and Brayden Sumption added 12 points. 


Redfield 65, Hitchcock-Tulare 42

REDFIELD — Redfield used a big second half to pull away from Hitchcock-Tulare earning a win in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Jerron Haider powered Redfield with 26 points. Mitchell Mack finished with 11 points while Nolan Gall chipped in with nine points. 

Riley Fliehe and Erik Salmen paced Hitchcock-Tulare with both players scoring seven points. 


Aberdeen Christian 70, Herreid/Selby Area 45

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Christian stayed perfect with a convincing boys basketball win over Herreid/Selby Area on Tuesday.

Jackson Isakson recorded 15 points, while Malek Wieker added 14 points. Joey Johnson posted 12 points and seven rebounds. 

HSA’s Brenden Begeman tossed in 19 points. 


Lyman 59, Jones County 52

MURDO — Lyman picked up a boys basketball win over Jones County on Tuesday.

Cooper Long tossed in 28 points and hit three 3-pointers. Ryker Choal added 13 points, while Teagan Gourneau and Damian Abrahamson scored six points apiece. 

Jones County’s Cooper Feddersen finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Jett Nix added 14 points, six boards and six assists. Gunnar Whitney posted eight points and Kaden Kinsley recorded seven points. Bryer Kinsley scored five points. 


Menno 51, Gayville-Volin 49 

MENNO — Menno clipped Gayville-Volin for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Menno’s Ajay Herrboldt recorded 22 points, while Hayden McNinch added 12 points and six rebounds. 

Gayville-Volin’s Spencer Karstens added 15 points and eight boards. Preston Karstens and Nate Selchert scored 10 points apiece. 


Madison 76, Chamberlain 40

MADISON — Aiden Jensen and Andrew Comes combined for 34 points as Madison earned a win over Chamberlain in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Aiden Jensen made 9-of-11 shots and finished with 21 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Comes managed 13 points, an assist and a steal. Eli Barger and Charles Callahan each finished with eight points for Madison. 

Dakota Munger led Chamberlain with 16 points. Kenyon McCloskey had 13 points for the Cubs. 


Canton 70, Tri-Valley 42

CROOKS — Three players scored in double figures to pace Canton to a boys basketball win over Tri-Valley on Tuesday.

Canton’s Derek Tieszen scored 16 points, while Jacob Vande Weerd had 14 points. Matthew Langerock scored 10 points. 

Tri-Valley’s Noah Haynes scored nine points, while Brady Benson added seven points. 


Watertown 67, Huron 52

HURON — Kohen Kranz and Dylan Rawdom combined for 30 points as Watertown picked up a road win over Huron in boys basketball action Tuesday. 

Kranz paced Watertown’s attack with 19 points with Rawdon adding 11 points. Caden Beauchamp and Jack Heesch each scored eight points for Waterrown. 

Huron was paced by Reilyn Zavesky who had 27 points and six rebounds. Dylan Lichty added eight points while Dawsyn Rogers chipped in with seven points. 


Girls

Andes Central/Dakota Christian 70, Wessington Springs 67

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Four players scored in double figures to pace Andes Central/Dakota Christian to a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Halle Olson recorded 22 points and nine rebounds. Josie Brouwer added 18 points and four steals. Allison Muckey posted 13 points and seven assists. Mahpiya Irving finished with 12 points. Isabella Brouwer logged five points. 

Wessington Springs’ Avery Orth had 22 points and collected 14 boards. Kirstie Munsen and Carissa Scheel scored 18 and 17 points, respectively. Kate Havlik had five points. 


Wagner 74, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 55

PLANKINTON — Ashlyn Koupal powered Class A No. 4 Wagner to a girls basketball win over Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Tuesday.

Koupal finished with 36 points, seven rebounds and six 3-pointers. Emma Yost added 16 points and 12 rebounds. 

MVP’s Emilee Fox scored 15 points. 


Wolsey-Wessington 73, Sunshine Bible Academy 14

WOLSEY — Four players scored in double figures as Class B No. 2 Wolsey-Wessington picked up a win over Sunshine Bible Academy in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Mya Boomsma finished with 21 points and eight rebounds. Leah Williams added 17 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals. Williams also scored her 1,000th career point. Payton Kemnitz logged 12 points, while Shae Uttecht posted 10 points. Taylor Horn scored seven points. 

Sadie Konechne led Sunshine Bible Academy with eight points while Lydia Lo added four points. 


Howard 51, Bridgewater-Emery 16

HOWARD — Abby Aslesen and Kate Connor combined for 30 points and 16 rebounds to pace Howard to a girls basketball win over Bridgewater-Emery on Tuesday.

Aslesen logged 16 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Connor had 14 points and seven rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch added five points and six boards. Dakota Spader grabbed five rebounds.

Bridgewater-Emery’s Hayden Hofer finished with seven points and four rebounds. Oakley Weber added five points. 


Scotland 45, Alcester-Hudson 41

SCOTLAND — The Scotland girls used a balanced scoring attack to earn a win over Alcester-Hudson in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Martina DeBoer paced Scotland with 12 points. Trinity Bietz scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Bailey Vitek and Kailey Vitek each scored seven points while Claire Janish had seven points. 

Ella Doering led Alcester-Hudson with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ella Serck finished with eight points while grabbing six rebounds. 


Avon 65, Burke 58

AVON — Courtney Sees and McKenna Kocmich combined for 42 points as Avon picked up a win over Burke in girls basketball action Tuesday.

Sees powered Avon with 27 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Kocmich finished with 15 points and four steals. Lila Vanderlei scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds for Avon. 

Elly Witt led Burke with 21 points and two steals. Bridget Bartling, Adisyn Indahl and Cecily Geaghan each had eight points for Burke. 


Hanson 57, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 44

FORESTBURG — Hanson held off Sanborn Central/Woonsocket for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Annalyse Weber logged 14 points and five assists, while Kylie Haiar added 13 points and nine rebounds. Taziah Hawkins posted 10 points. 

SCW’s Liz Boschee logged 22 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Kenna Ochsner added eight points, while Kara Wormstadt posted seven rebounds. 


Winner 38, Chamberlain 28 

WINNER — Winner used a 13-4 second quarter to help secure a girls basketball win over Chamberlain on Tuesday. 

Winner’s Keelie Kuil recorded 13 points and seven rebounds. Kylie Sachtjen added seven points and seven rebounds. Cici Watson had five points and four rebounds. Cora Moss had five points, while Lilly Barfuss grabbed six rebounds. 

Chamberlain’s Jayna Handel finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Kinsey Evans and Leigha Long scored five points apiece. Evans added nine rebounds and Long grabbed six boards. Chesney Mutziger had seven rebounds and Alexa Petersen added five boards. 


Menno 55, Gayville-Volin 50

MENNO — The Menno girls used a balanced scoring attack to earn a win over Gayville-Volin in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Layne Schmidt paced Menno with 15 points and six rebounds. Ashton Massey scored five points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists. Lexie McNinch had 11 points and six rebounds for the Wolves. 

Maia Achen led Gayville-Volin with 19 points and five rebounds. Taylor Hoxeng finished with 13 points and four rebounds. 


Parkston 48, Platte-Geddes 40

PLATTE — Parkston used a 15-9 fourth quarter to hold off Platte-Geddes for a girls basketball win on Tuesday. 

Parkston’s Faith Oakley scored 11 points and Abby Hohn added 10 points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Baleigh Nachtigal recorded 10 points, while Karly VanDerwerff scored eight points and grabbed 11 boards. Regan Hoffman and Cadence VanZee scored seven points apiece. 


Northwestern 54, Faulkton Area 45

FAULKTON —  Three players scored in double figures as Northwestern picked up a win over Faulkton Area in girls basketball action Tuesday. 

Adriana Ratigan led Northwestern with 14 points, two assists and two steals. Ella Boekelheide scored 11 points with Ella Haven scoring ten points and grabbing six rebounds. Ashley Haven added eight points and six rebounds. 

Faulkton Area was paced by Addison Melius who had a 21 point, 21 rebound effort. Paislee Martinmaas chipped in with 12 points. 


Pierre 63, Aberdeen Central 54

PIERRE — Class AA No. 5 Pierre pulled away from Aberdeen Central for a girls basketball win on Tuesday.

Pierre’s Remington Price logged 23 points and four 3-pointers. Reese Terwilliger added 17 points and eight rebounds. Ryann Barry tossed in 13 points, while Sydney Tedrow had six points. 

Aberdeen Central’s Taryn Hermansen logged 22 points. Anna Malchow tossed in 18 points, all from the 3-point line. Lauryn Burckhard posted eight points and 12 rebounds. 


Tri-Valley 53, Canton 47 

CROOKS — Tri-Valley clipped Canton in girls basketball action on Tuesday. 

Tri-Valley’s Lauren Grinde scored 21 points and Hailey Sorensen added nine points. 

Canton’s Amanda Lease posted 15 points and Landree Meister scored eight points.
