Gregory 52, Avon 28 

GREGORY — Gregory coasted past Avon for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Daniel Mitchell led the Gorillas with 20 points, while Jordan Songer scored 11 points. Cruz Klundt added nine points and Nick Kenzy scored seven points.

Sioux Falls Lincoln 83, Sioux Falls Washington 81 (3OT) 

SIOUX FALLS — Four players scored in double figures as Sioux Falls Lincoln outlasted No. 4 Sioux Falls Washington in triple overtime on Thursday. 

Gage Gohl paced the Patriots with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four 3-pointers and four steals. Caleb Hiatt added 14 points and six rebounds, while Kahlil Cisse scored 14 points. Saif Shah and Elliot Whitney scored 12 points apiece. J.T. Rock logged nine points and six rebounds. 

Washington’s Mikele Kambalo poured in a game-high 29 points, while adding five rebounds and four 3-pointers. Kambalo’s 3-pointer as time expired in regulation forced overtime. Cole Peterson added 17 points, six rebounds and four 3-pointers. Mandalla Mohammed finished with nine points and six rebounds, while Joe Uttecht finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Tommy Peterson posted six points and Noah Robertson added five points. 


Hamlin 73, Webster Area 44

HAYTI — Four players scored in double figures to pace Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Webster Area on Thursday.

Tyson Stevenson led the Chargers with 17 points, while Brennan Keszler finished with 13 points. Easton Neuendorf added 12 points and Dawson Noem netted 11 points, including three 3-pointers. Evan Stormo and Rylan Bawdon scored eight and seven points, respectively. 

Webster Area’s Jayden Keller scored 18 points and hit four 3-pointers. Jacob Pereboom scored eight points, while Jaiden McCreary had six points. Jacob Keller and Ian Lesnar scored five points apiece. 


Sully Buttes 48, Hitchcock-Tulare 40

TULARE — Landon Hepker and Dwight Kinney combined for 30 points to pace Sully Buttes to a boys basketball win over Hitchcock-Tulare on Thursday. 

Hepker recorded 19 points, while Kinney netted 11 points. Thomas Farries added nine points and Marshall Wittler scored five points.

Hitchcock-Tulare Erik Salmen netted 12 points. T.J. Salmen scored nine points, while Kyle Hamilton added eight points. Jackson Maynard scored seven points. 


Lower Brule 113, Takini 19

HURON — Class B No. 3 Lower Brule rolled to an opening round win at the Dakota Oyate Challenge Thursday. 

Freshman Lane Grey led all scorers with 23 points. Keshaume Thigh also reached double figures, chipping in with 12 points and Daniel Goodface Jr., scored 11 points. Trevin McBride and Nunpa Kirkie had nine points apiece, while Gavin Thigh and Ellwyn Langdeau scored eight points. Eden Thigh finished with seven points. All fourteen Lower Brule players scored on Thursday. 

Randen Eagle Chasing led Takini with seven points and Kyson Crow Ghost scored six points. 


Tiospa Zina 79, Tiospaye Topa 30 

HURON — Three players reached double figures as Tiospa Zina earned a win Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge.

Devin Long Crow, Jasiah Red Bear and Juron Adams each scored 13 points to pace the Wambdi. Reondre Greeley scored seven points, while Perry Lufkins, Mike Smith and Tate Never Misses A Shot scored six points apiece. Caleb Barse added five points. All told, 11 players scored for Tiospa Zina. 

Manual Swan III led Tiospaye Topa with 13 points, while A.J. Begay scored 10 points. 


Tri-Valley 45, Elk Point-Jefferson 42
COLTON — Three players scored in double figures as Tri-Valley edged Elk Point-Jefferson in a boys basketball contest on Thursday. 

Cory McDonald scored 14 points in the win. Lance DeWitt and Connor Christensen scored 10 points apiece. 

EPJ’s Devon Schmitz scored 12 points. 


Estelline/Hendricks 61, Arlington 48

ARLINGTON — Braxton Saathoff’s big game helped lead Estelline/Hendricks to a boys basketball win over Arlington on Thursday.

Saathoff finished with 28 points, while Mattix Hausman and Dawson Bury each scored 11 points.

Arlington’s Ryker Erstad scored 23 points, while Britt Carlson added 15 points.

Castlewood 78, Lake Preston 36

LAKE PRESTON — Four players scored in double-figures as Castlewood raced past Lake Preston in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Tristan Nielsen scored 18 points, while Lane Tvedt tallied 12 points. Jackson Schofield recorded 11 points, while Bryon Laue added 10 points.

For Lake Preston, Josh McMasters scored 11 points, while Riley Casper chipped in 10 points and Jake Larsen added nine points.


Redfield 52, Milbank 49

REDFIELD — Redfield had three players score in double-figures as they edged Milbank in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Peyton Osborn scored 15 points, while Mitchell Mack recorded 14 points. Nolan Gall finished with 12 points and Jerron Haider added seven points.

For Milbank, Justus Osborn tallied 12 points, while Garrett Mertens recorded 11 points. Bennet Schwenn added 10 points.


Clark/Willow Lake 63, Deuel 58

CLEAR LAKE — Clark/Willow Lake edged Deuel in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Tyler O’Neill scored 14 points, Noah Boykin tallied 13 points and eight rebounds, and Kaplan Felberg recorded 12 points. Trey Huber and Brady Jordan each added 11 points.

For Deuel, Braydon Simon scored 16 points, Trey Maaland recorded 13 points, and Cooper Schiernbeck tallied 11 points. Naethan Lovre added eight points.


Waverly-South Shore 64, Britton-Hecla 60

WAVERLY — Three players scored in double figures to lift Waverly-South Shore to a girls basketball win over Britton-Hecla on Thursday. 

Carter Comes led the Coyotes with 16 points, while Troy Kneeland netted 15 points. Dan Dalton scored 14 points and Cooper Schmit had 12 points. 

Britton-Hecla’s Aidan Fredrickson finished with 25 points and BoDell Davidson scored 17 points. Landon Carlson and Ashton Mills scored seven points apiece. 

 

Spearfish 62, Rapid City Central 58

RAPID CITY — Spearfish edged Rapid City Central in a boys basketball game on Thursday.

Antonio Serrano scored 17 points, while Seth Hamilton tallied 16 points. Brayden Delahoyde recorded nine points, while Rylan Palmer and Ryan Heinert each added eight points.

For the Cobblers, Reno Lowe scored a game-high 25 points, while Cooper Totten added 14 points.


Dakota Valley 60, Sioux Falls Christian 54

SIOUX FALLS — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley edged Sioux Falls Christian in a Thursday boys basketball contest. 

Isaac Bruns led Dakota Valley with 26 points, while Randy Rosenquist scored 11 points. Sam Faldmo added nine points. 


Girls basketball 

Bon Homme 57, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 56

TYNDALL — Three players scored in double figures as Bon Homme edged Andes Central/Dakota Christian in girls basketball action on Thursday. 

Jaden Kortan logged 20 points and seven rebounds. Jurni Vavurska added 17 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Camille Sykora logged 10 points and four steals. 

ACDC’s Allison Muckey tossed in a game-high 32 points, while Lexie VanderPol posted 16 points. 


Lyman 48, New Underwood 39

NEW UNDERWOOD — Skyler Volmer and Ellie Erikson combined for 41 points to lift Lyman to a girls basketball win over New Underwood on Thursday.

Volmer finished with 23 points, six rebounds and five assists. Erikson added 18 points and three rebounds. Mak Scott logged six rebounds and five assists. 


Groton Area 52, Northwestern 29

MELLETTE — Allyssa Locke and Gracie Traphagen combined for 32 points to lead Groton Area to a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Locke finished with 16 points, while Traphagen scored 16 points and 11 rebounds. Brooke Gengerke added seven points.

Northwestern’s Jessica Boekelheide tallied 11 points and six rebounds.


Sully Buttes 61, Hitchcock-Tulare 34

TULARE — Sully Buttes raced past Hitchcock-Tulare for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Stevie Wittler and Lydia Hill each scored 17 points, while Caitlin Birney added nine points.

For the Patriots, Katelyn Schroeder scored 18 points, nine steals, and seven rebounds, while Madison Hofer tallied nine points and seven rebounds.


Lower Brule 97, Takini 21

HURON — Four players reached double figures as the Lower Brule girls rolled to a win Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. 

Kharmon Wells led all scorers with 19 points. Ally Wells, coming off the bench, finished with 14 points. Brilyn LaRoche and Jesse Estes combined for 23 points. 

Jynea St. John finished with nine points for Takini. 


Crow Creek JV 59, Marty 35

HURON — A late entrant into this year’s Dakota Oyate Challenge, the Crow Creek junior varsity girls picked up a win Thursday. 

Ronessa Sazue paced all scorers with 22 points. Cacee Adams had 15 points for Crow Creek. Justine Dog Eagle scored eight points, while DeeDrah Drapeau scored six points. 

Marty’s Genesis Patterson posted 10 points. Nevaeh Medicine Horn scored eight points, while Jayla Bruguier and Hawk Bair scored seven points apiece. 


Omaha Nation 52, Flandreau Indian School 42

HURON — Nine players scored as the Lady Chiefs from Omaha Nation picked up a win Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge. Bianca Fremont led all scorers with 18 points. 

Vivica Blacksmith led Flandreau Indian with 17 points. Erika Bien added 12 points in the loss. 


Tiospa Zina 55, Tiospaye Topa 49

HURON — Kennadee Bissonette and Alexia Quinn combined for 39 points as Tiospa Zina edged Tiospaye Topa in a girls basketball game Thursday at the Dakota Oyate Challenge.

Bissonette scored 21 points, while Quinn added 18 points. Hannah Ziegler added seven points.

Tiospaye Topa’s Leilani Bowker scored a game-high 23 points.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 60, Alcester-Hudson 43

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary used a 27-10 third quarter to put away Alcester-Hudson in girls basketball action on Thursday.

Ella Griffin led the win with 18 points, while Mya Heinitz scored 10 points. Whitney Warwick added nine points, while Madala Hanson scored seven points. Addy Gilbert scored five points. 

Alcester-Hudson’s Elly Doering scored a game-high 21 points, while Alexis Gray scored 16 points. 


Garretson 75, Chester Area 60

CHESTER — Garretson picked up a girls basketball win over Chester Area during the opening round of the Big East Conference tournament on Thursday.

Jaelyn Benson and Sydney Olson each tallied 13 points. Anna Jones grabbed 11 rebounds, while Lily Ranschau recorded 10 steals and five assists.

For the Flyers, Emery Larson scored 21 points, while Emmerson Eppard tallied 18 points and 10 rebounds.


Sioux Valley 65, Baltic 46

CHESTER — Sioux Valley cruised past Baltic for a girls basketball win during the opening round of the Big East Conference tournament on Thursday.

Isabelle Bloker tallied 19 points, while Keyra Kruse added 14 points and eight rebounds.

For Baltic, Berklee Erickson scored 21 points. Cami Artz grabbed nine boards.


Tri-Valley 41, Elk Point-Jefferson 39

COLTON — Tri-Valley edged Elk Point-Jefferson in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Tri-Valley’s Paige Jewett scored 16 points.

EPJ’s Kaitlyn Van Roekel tallied 10 points.


Wolsey-Wessington 66, Highmore-Harrold 53

WOLSEY — Three players scored in double-figures as Wolsey-Wessington picked up a girls basketball win over Highmore-Harrold on Thursday.

Leah Williams stuffed the stat sheet with a game-high 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals, while Faith Nelson tallied 13 points and Mya Boomsma added 11 points.

For HH, Letha Jessen recorded 16 points, while Maddie Knox scored 13 points and 10 assists. Courtney Moser added 12 points. Grace Knox grabbed 10 rebounds.


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 57, Wessington Springs 26

WOONSOCKET — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket used a 20-5 second quarter to pull away from Wessington Springs in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Brooke Doering scored 14 points, while Trinity Boschee tallied 12 points and Trista White added nine points.

For the Spartans, Avery Orth tallied 13 points, nine rebounds, and four steals.


Freeman 50, Canistota 24

CANISTOTA — Freeman used a 29-8 second half to run past Canistota in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Kate Miller led all scorers with 15 points and seven rebounds, while Erin Uecker scored 12 points and 10 rebounds. Ashlin Jacobsen chipped in 11 points.

For Canistota, Kayla Papendick scored nine points, while Natalie Becker recorded eight rebounds and eight steals.


Elkton-Lake Benton 58, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 43

ELKTON — Elkton-Lake Benton had three players score in double-figures as they picked up a girls basketball win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday.

Rachael Krog scored 18 points and eight steals, while Kylie Ramlo tallied 14 points and six rebounds. Tevan Erickson recorded 12 points and eight rebounds, while Emily Robbins added eight points and six rebounds.

For ORR, Bailey Hyland and Alivia Bickett each scored 14 points. Alivia Spilde grabbed 11 boards. 


Clark/Willow Lake 46, Deuel 26

CLEAR LAKE — Clark/Willow Lake used a 17-4 second quarter to pull away from Deuel in a girls basketball game on Thursday.

Alicia Vig scored 19 points, including four 3-pointers to pace the Cyclones. Musonda Kabwe tallied nine points and Kayla Jordan added six points.

For Deuel, Harley Hennings scored 12 points and six rebounds, while Haley Winter added four points and seven boards.

 

Rapid City Central 62, Spearfish 27

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 5 Rapid City Central cruised past Spearfish for a girls basketball win on Thursday.

Nevaya Cuny scored 11 points, while Aaliyah Jones and Denna Smith each tallied nine points. Josie Hill, Sadie Glade, and Wicahpi Cuny each added eight points.

For Spearfish, Stella Marcus scored nine points and Maria Bouman added six points.
