White River 88, Kadoka Area 53

KADOKA — Joe Sayler erupted for a career-high 51 points to power Class B No. 1 White River to a boys basketball win over Kadoka Area on Thursday.

Sayler nailed a school-record 13 3-pointers, dished out six assists and collected five rebounds. The state record for most 3-pointers in a game is 14 by Bison’s Josh McKinstry in 2017. Nic Marshall added 16 points, seven assists and four rebounds. Gavin Folkers recorded 11 points, four rebounds and three assists. 

Kadoka Area stats were not reported. 


Sioux Falls Lincoln 72, Pierre 62

SIOUX FALLS — Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Lincoln held off Class AA No. 2 Pierre for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Tate Schafer led Lincoln with 23 points and six 3-pointers. Elliot Whitney added 18 points, five assists and four rebounds. J.T. Rock recorded 11 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots. Braxton Mohr finished with 11 points, while Elijah Olson scored five points. 

Pierre’s Jackson Edman scored a team-high 16 points and grabbed four rebounds. Benjamin Heisler recorded 14 points and six rebounds. Carson Ahartz had 12 points and six rebounds, while Jacob Mayer scored 10 points. Cade Kaiser scored six points. 


Waubay/Summit 72, Langford Area 39

WAUBAY — Three players scored in double figures as Waubay/Summit raced past Langford Area for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Waubay/Summit was led by Jackson Wohlleber with 25 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and five steals. Jonathan Johnston had 24 points, while Damon Opdahl had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Langford Area stats were not reported.


Castlewood 61, Sisseton 29

CASTLEWOOD — Class B No. 5 Castlewood used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a boys basketball win over Sisseton on Thursday. 

Castlewood’s Byron Laue finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Jamison Keszler added nine points, while Joe Decker scored eight points. Jackson Schofield recorded seven points and five rebounds. Booker Schooley, Kabren Jackson and Lane Tvedt scored six points apiece. 

Sisseton’s Ethan DeSpiegler finished with nine points, while Dean Shultz scored seven points. Christian Shepherd had six points. 


Howard 41, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 39

HOWARD — Howard held off Sanborn Central/Woonsocket for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Howard’s Colby Claussen led the Tigers with 10 points, while Taiden Hoyer and Luke Koepsell had eight points apiece. Kolt Koepsell scored six points. 

SCW’s Jeff Boschee netted 14 points, while Cody Slykhuis scored 10 points. Brady Larson finished with seven points. 


McLaughlin 59, Stanley County 41

MCLAUGHLIN — Three players scored in double figures to pace McLaughlin to a boys basketball win over Stanley County on Thursday.

Lane Lawrence finished with 18 points, while Elias Sims added 16 points. Raymin Yellow Earrings finished with 13 points, while Jre Antelope scored six points. 

Stanley County’s Broch Zeeb scored 15 points, while Paxton Deal netted eight points. Kaden Montana added six points and Blaize Frost netted five points. 


Philip 52, Jones County 36

MURDO — Philip picked up a boys basketball win over Jones County on Thursday.

Jones County was led by Cooper Fedderson with 14 points and 22 rebounds, while Jett Nix had nine points. Kaden Kinsley added six points.

No stats were reported for Philip.


Wessington Springs 83, Sunshine Bible Academy 30

MILLER — Four players scored in double figures as Wessington Springs raced past Sunshine Bible Academy for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

WS was led by Ryder Michalek with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Blake Larson and Parker Graff each had 14 points. Graff also had seven steals. Colby Flowers had 12 points, while Brock Krueger added eight points and seven assists.

SBA was led by Nolan Triebwasser with 11 points, while Anthony Mitchell had nine points.


Hamlin 58, Tiospa Zina 41

AGENCY VILLAGE — Brennan Keszler and Zac VanMeeteren combined for 28 points to pace Hamlin to a boys basketball win over Tiospa Zina. 

Keszler finished with 17 points, while VanMeeteren added 11 points. Easton Neuendorf logged 10 points. Jackson Wadsworth and Tyson Stevenson scored five points apiece. 

Tiospa Zina’s Tate Never Misses A Shot logged 12 points, while Storm Sierra scored nine points. Mike Smith had six points. 


Dakota Valley 60, LeMars, Iowa 55

LEMARS, Iowa — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley outlasted LeMars, Iowa, for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Isaac Bruns pumped in 26 points, while Randy Rosenquist netted 15 points. Jaxson Wingert added 13 points. 


Colman-Egan 70, Arlington 44

COLMAN — Four players scored in double figures as Colman-Egan raced past Arlington for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Colman-Egan was led by Jase Mousel with 14 points, while Sawyer Uhing and Jackson Zwart each had 13 points. Zwart added seven rebounds. Logan Voelker had 10 points, while Tyce Ryan added eight points.

Arlington’s Blake Madsen had 14 points, while Evan Fonseca added eight points and eight rebounds.


Huron 61, Brookings 57

HURON — Huron held off Brookings for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Huron’s Reilyn Zavesky poured in 27 points and seven rebounds, while C.J. Gainey had 10 points. Blake Ellwein had eight points, while Dylan Lichty added seven points and eight rebounds.

Brookings was led by Austin Clark with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Ryan Bauman had 13 points. Sam Johnson had 11 points, while Sam Conrad added eight points.


Aberdeen Roncalli 62, Leola/Frederick Area 51

FREDERICK — Aberdeen Roncalli held off Leola/Frederick Area for a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Roncalli's Maddox Miller scored 19 points, while Zane Backous had 11 pionts. Caden Shelton added nine points. 

Leola/Frederick Area’s Brayden Sumption and Noah Kippley scored 12 points apiece. 


Dell Rapids St. Mary 65, Estelline/Hendricks 45

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a boys basketball win on Thursday.

Trevon Beckman finished with 22 points, while Nic Gaspar had 19 points. Maverick LeBrun tossed in 13 points. 

Estelline/Hendricks’ Joseph McAninch and Braxton Saathoff scored 16 and 10 points, respectively. 


Redfield 49, Britton-Hecla 26

REDFIELD — Redfield pulled away from Britton-Hecla for a boys basketball win on Thursday. 

Redfield’s Jerron Haider scored 19 points, while Zach Akin and Justin Ratigan scored eight points apiece. Nolan Gall and Mitchell Mock scored six points apiece. 

Britton-Hecla’s Willie Schuller scored seven points, while Landon Carlson finished with six points. Ty Fagerland added five points.
