Lennox 65, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 52

MOUNT VERNON — Lennox pulled away from Mount Vernon/Plankinton for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Lennox’s Porter Ihnen netted 21 points, while Conner Eich added 14 points. Braeden Wulf scored 12 points. 

MVP’s Reed Rus finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Jordan Stoltz added 14 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and four assists. Zach Baker had seven points and six assists. Mason Hetland logged seven points.

Winner 79, Chamberlain 50

WINNER — Shawn Hammerbeck and Blake Volmer combined for 47 points to power Winner to a boys basketball win over Chamberlain on Friday. 

Hammerbeck finished with 26 points and nine rebounds. Volmer added 21 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. Aiden Barfuss had 10 points and six rebounds. Ethan Bartels had nine points, while Norman Chasing Hawk IV had five points. 

Chamberlain’s Dakota Munger finished with 16 points. Levi Miller and Kenyon McCloskey had 12 and 10 points, respectively. Collin Two Strike and Sawyer Donovan had six points apiece. 


De Smet 66, Arlington 19 

ARLINGTON — Class B No. 3 De Smet coasted to a boys basketball win over Arlington on Friday. 

De Smet’s Damon Wilkinson finished with 22 points and nine rebounds. George Jensen added 14 points and 10 boards. Kadyn Fast logged 12 points. Kasen Janssen and Tom Aughenbaugh scored five points apiece. 

Arlington’s Riley Miller finished with nine points and four rebounds. Blake Madsen added five points and five rebounds. Tommy Bacon grabbed five rebounds. 


Jones County 60, Wall 46

MURDO — Cooper Feddersen logged a monster double-double to power Jones County to a boys basketball win over Wall on Friday. 

Feddersen recorded 24 points and 22 rebounds in the win. Jett Nix added 18 points and seven rebounds. Kaden Kinsley had 10 points and five assists. Gunnar Whitney had six points and eight rebounds. 

Wall’s Cedar Amiotte had 14 points, while Jace Mohr added 11 points. Ben Amundson and Taalan Kjerstad scored eight and seven points, respectively. 

 



Ethan 61, Wessington Springs 58

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Ethan outscored Wessington Springs, 20-12, in the fourth quarter to secure a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Kody Klumb finished with 25 points and five rebounds. Taite Klumb added 13 points and four rebounds. Riley Endres had eight points and 12 rebounds. Drake Gustafson recorded seven points. 

Wessington Springs’ Parker Graff had 19 points and four rebounds. Colby Flowers finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Blake Larson added 10 points and four assists. Ryder Michalek had eight points, seven assists and six rebounds. Brock Krueger posted five points, six assists and six rebounds. 


Centerville 54, Burke 52

BURKE — Centerville clipped Burke for a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Centerville’s Logan Bobzin finished with 15 points, while Alec Austin added 12 points. 

Burke’s Reed Benter finished with 22 points and five assists. Nick Nelson added 11 points and three steals. Quinten Bull logged six points and nine rebounds. 


Northwestern 73, Britton-Hecla 42

BRITTON — Northwestern pulled away from Britton-Hecla for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Northwestern’s Reilly Schmitt led with 14 points, while Jude Ortmeier had 12 points. Chase Neiber had 10 points, while Quintin Fischbach had nine points.

Britton-Hecla was led by Ty Fagerland and Dawson Treeby with eight points apiece.


McCook Central/Montrose 65, Parker 35

BERESFORD — Four players scored in double figures as McCook Central/Montrose raced past Parker for a first round win at the Big East Conference Tournament on Friday.

MCM was led by Mason Sabers and Ty Morrison with 17 points apiece. Owen Alley tallied 14 points, while Isaac Kane added 10 points.

Parker’s Ray Travnicek recorded 17 points, while Myles Myers added six points.


Beresford 56, Chester Area 34

BERESFORD — Beresford picked up a first round win over Chester Area at the Big East Conference Tournament on Friday.

Beresford’s Tate VanOtterloo totaled 21 points, while Andrew Atwood and Aiden Hamm each had nine points.

Chester Area’s Jovi Wolf had eight points, while Layke Wold added six points.


Elk Point-Jefferson 70, Alcester-Hudson 20 

ELK POINT — Elk Point-Jefferson cruised past Alcester-Hudson for a boys basketball win on Friday.

EPJ was led by Easton Kempf with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Alexander Scarmon tallied eight points. Carson Timmins added seven points.

Alcester-Hudson’s Jose Topete-Lopez led with eight points and five rebounds.


Iroquois/Lake Preston 56, Deubrook Area 46

LAKE PRESTON — Three players scored in double figures to lift Iroquois/Lake Preston to a boys basketball win on Friday. 

Logan Peskey recorded 17 points and eight rebounds, while Josh McMasters added 14 points. Tobias Arbeiter logged 11 points, while Riley Casper had eight points and seven rebounds. 

Deubrook Area’s Landon Johnson scored 23 points, while Gavin Landmark had eight points. Colton Trooien had six points. 


Vermillion 65, Parkston 40

VERMILLION — Vermillion picked up a boys basketball win over Parkston on Friday.

Carter Hansen poured in 27 points, while Wyatt Gestring scored 17 points. Carter Hansen added 11 points. 

Parkston stats were not reported. 

 

Canton 59, Elkton-Lake Benton 49 

ELKTON — Four players scored in double figures to lift Canton to a boys basketball win over Elkton-Lake Benton on Friday. 

Derek Tieszen and Matt Langerock scored 14 points apiece. Matt Anderson added 11 points, while Jacob VandeWeerd scored 10 points. 

ELB’s Ryan Krog logged 20 points, six rebounds, four steals, four assists and three 3-pointers. Tanner Drietz added 12 points, while Carson Griffith had 11 points and seven rebounds.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 56, Rapid City Central 48

RAPID CITY — Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Jefferson held off Rapid City Central for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Taylen Ashley led with 16 points, while Griffin Wilde and Beau Giblin each had 10 points. Kaden Year had nine points, while Dawson Sechser added seven points.

Rapid City Central’s Shun-Zi White Women led with 14 points and six rebounds, while Cooper Totten had 13 points. Lincoln Archambault added seven points.


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 50, Rapid City Stevens 41

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures to lift Sioux Falls Roosevelt to a boys basketball win over Rapid City Stevens on Friday. 

Jackson Brouwer finished with 18 points, eight rebounds and five 3-pointers. Garang Kuol had 12 points, nine rebounds and six steals. Naser Ismail logged 12 points. 

Stevens’ Caden Dowling recorded 10 points, while Dayler Segrist had eight points. Hayden Gebhart scored six points, while Kaelem Brooks had five points and five rebounds. 


Sioux Falls Washington 78, Aberdeen Central 39

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Washington doubled up Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win on Friday.

Sioux Falls Washington was led by A.J. Akot with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Mandalla Mohamed tallied 12 points and 10 assists. Zharic Sheppard had 11 points, while Gage Gasca added 10 points and seven rebounds. Cole Peterson had nine points.

Aberdeen Central was led by Carter Dingman with 11 points, while Parker Lemer had eight points. Spencer Barr added seven points.
