Sioux Valley 77, Beresford 45

MONTROSE — Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley captured the Big East Conference Tournament championship over Beresford on Saturday.

Sioux Valley’s Oliver Vincent recorded 16 points, five assists, and four steals, while Maverick Nelson had 15 points. Hudsyn Ruesink also had 15 points, while adding 12 rebounds. Alec Squires had 13 points and seven rebounds, while Patrick Carey also had 13 points.

Beresford’s Malachi James had 15 points, while Aiden Hamm tallied nine points. Michael Shegrud added seven points.


McCook Central/Montrose 52, Baltic 49

MONTROSE — McCook Central/Montrose edged Baltic for a third place finish at the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

MCM’s Mason Sabers tallied 14 points, while Boston Katzer had 12 points and eight rebounds. Owen Alley had eight points, while Jackson Schmidt added seven points.

Baltic’s Jack Erickson recorded 19 points and six rebounds, while Tayden Hansen had 10 points and nine rebounds. Mark Ditter had eight points.


Flandreau 50, Parker 27

SALEM — Flandreau raced past Parker for a fifth place finish at the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Flandreau’s Alfie Henderson tallied 12 points and five rebounds, while Paul Parsley had nine points and eight rebounds. Micah Otto also had nine points, while Luke Sheppard added eight points.

Parker’s Ray Travnicek had 11 points.


Chester Area 38, Garretson 37

SALEM — Chester Area edged Garretson for a seventh place finish at the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Chester Area’s Layke Wold tallied 21 points and seven rebounds, while Brayden Schut added five points.

Garretson’s Sam Schleuter had 13 points, while Ramsey Schweitzer had nine points and 10 rebounds. Ian Buettner grabbed nine boards.

 



Sioux Valley 67, Baltic 53

MONTROSE — Class A No. 2 Sioux Valley picked up a second round Big East Conference Tournament win over Baltic on Saturday.

Sioux Valley was led by Alec Squires with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Oliver Vincent had 18 points and four assists. Patrick Carey had 17 points.

Baltic’s Jack Erickson had 19 points and seven rebounds, while Gunner Schultz had 10 points. Tayden Hansen had eight points and six rebounds.


Beresford 59, McCook Central/Montrose 51

MONTROSE — Beresford held off McCook Central/Montrose for a boys basketball win in the second round of the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Beresford’s Aiden Hamm scored 15 points, while Tate VanOtterloo had 11 points. Andrew Atwood and Mason Heiberger each had eight points, while Jake Goblirsch had seven points and eight rebounds.

MCM’s Boston Katzer had 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Owen Alley had 11 points. Mason Sabers and Ty Morrison each had nine points.


Flandreau 44, Garretson 31

SALEM — Flandreau picked up a second round boys basketball win over Garretson at the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Flandreau’s Paul Parsley tallied 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Luke Sheppard had eight points and 15 rebounds. Alfie Henderson added six points.

Garretson’s Sam Schleuter recorded 18 points and nine rebounds, while Blaine Trower had seven points. Ian Buettner grabbed 10 rebounds.


Parker 51, Chester Area 27

SALEM — Parker raced past Chester Area for a boys basketball win in the second round of the Big East Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Parker’s Ray Travnicek totaled 18 points and seven rebounds, while Seth VanVliet had nine points and eight rebounds. Ethan Kasten also had nine points.

Chester Area’s Layke Wold had nine points and seven rebounds, while Zach Moyer and Garret Hansen each had six points.


Castlewood 48, Deuel 45

CASTLEWOOD — Class B No. 4 Castlewood edged Deuel for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Castlewood’s Bryon Laue recorded 14 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocked shots. Lane Tvedt tallied 13 points, while Jackson Schofield had 11 points. Joe Decker added 10 points.

Deuel’s Ronnie Begalka had 16 points and nine rebounds, while Gavin Benck had 12 points.


Irene-Wakonda 57, Freeman 37

FREEMAN — Irene-Wakonda pulled away from Freeman for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Miles Pollman and Jake Kuhl each had 17 points for Irene-Wakonda, while Kuhl added 13 rebounds. Garrett Libby had 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Jens Hansen added seven assists.

Freeman’s Rocky Ammann led with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Tate Sorensen had 10 points and six rebounds. Ethan Balvin added six points and five steals.


Viborg-Hurley 43, Hanson 33

ALEXANDRIA — Viborg-Hurley picked up a boys basketball win over Hanson on Saturday.

Viborg-Hurley was led by Bryson Morrison with 11 points, while Kobe Sherman and Gage Goettertz each had 10 points.

Hanson’s Ethan Cheeseman scored 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Jackson Jarding had 10 points. Sutton Dewald added five assists.


Dakota Valley 68, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Iowa 38

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 1 Dakota Valley raced past Sergeant Bluff-Luton, Iowa for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Dakota Valley was led by Isaac Bruns with 30 points and nine rebounds, while Randy Rosenquist tallied 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, and six steals. Sam Faldmo added three steals.


Waubay/Summit 65, Great Plains Lutheran 40

WAUBAY — Waubay/Summit used a balanced scoring attack to cruise past Great Plains Lutheran in a boys basketball game on Saturday.

Waubay/Summit’s Jonathan Johnston recorded 21 points, while Jackson Wohlleber tallied 17 points. Damon Opdahl had 14 points.

Great Plains Lutheran stats were not reported.


Crazy Horse 71, Sunshine Bible Academy 26

MILLER — Crazy Horse raced past Sunshine Bible Academy for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Crazy Horse’s Noah Iron Horse poured in 27 points and nine steals, while Devaughn Milk had 13 points. Trey Lamont had nine points and nine rebounds, while Richard Pumpkin Seed had eight points. LeBron White Eagle added six points and 10 rebounds.

SBA was led by Daniel Gerbracht with eight points and six rebounds, while Nolan Triebwasser had six points.


Rapid City Christian 84, Shiloh Christian, ND, 81

BISMARCK — Rapid City Christian remained undefeated on the season with a win over Shiloh Christian, ND on Saturday. 

All five starters scored in double figures for the Comets. Elijah Hoyt had a big game with 21 points and 16 rebounds, Benson Kieffer added 18 points and seven assists, Sam Fischer had 15 points, Julius Frog 12 points and 10 rebounds and Simon Kieffer had 11 points. 

 



Huron 73, Harrisburg 71

HURON — Huron held off Harrisburg for a boys basketball win on Saturday. 

Huron’s Reilyn Zavesky netted 27 points and grabbed eight boards. Blake Ellwein added 18 points. Mason Davis had nine points, while Dylan Lichty recorded eight points. C.J. Gainey scored five points. 

Harrisburg’s Braeden VanBockern tossed in 33 points, including 9 of 13 shooting 3-pointers. Camden Phipps added 14 points, while Ethan Determan had 11 points. Maxwell Knutson and Jacoby Mehrman had six and five points, respectively. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 65, Rapid City Stevens 54

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Class AA No. 1 Sioux Falls Jefferson picked up a boys basketball win over Rapid City Stevens on Saturday.

Sioux Falls Jefferson’s Kaden Year scored 18 points, while Taylen Ashley had 15 points and six rebounds. Griffin Wilde and Beau Giblin each had 10 points.

Rapid City Stevens was led by Kaelem Brooks and Dayler Segrist with 11 points apiece. Segrist also had 11 rebounds, while Nash Sobczak and Madinko Hawley each had eight points. Hayden Gebhart added seven points.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 78, Aberdeen Central 58

ABERDEEN — Elliot Whitney and J.T. Rock combined for 51 points as Class AA No. 3 Sioux Falls Lincoln pulled away from Aberdeen Central for a boys basketball win on Saturday.

Whitney erupted for 31 points, while Rock tallied 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots. Tate Schafer had 13 points, while Jack Hilgenberg added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Aberdeen Central’s Carter Dingman recorded 18 points, while Spencer Barr had 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Grant Fritz added eight points.
