Lower Brule 75, Parkston 49

MITCHELL — Brian LaRoche Jr., and Gavin Thigh combined for 49 points to power Class B No. 5 Lower Brule to a boys basketball win over Parkston at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday.

LaRoche Jr., poured in 30 points, while Thigh added 19 points. Tyshawn Battese and Lane Gray added 11 and 10 points, respectively. Ellwyn Langdeau scored five points.

Parkston’s Will Jodozi scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds, while Brycen Bruening and Kaleb Weber added seven points apiece. Sam Benson and Luke Bormann scored six points apiece.

 

Platte-Geddes 62, Freeman Academy/Marion 52

MITCHELL — Platte-Geddes pulled away from Freeman Academy/Marion for a boys basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday. 

Hayden Sprik netted 22 points and hit six 3-pointers. Dawson Hoffman added 13 points and nailed three 3-pointers. Tanner Dyk had 12 points, while Joey Foxley finished with eight points. 

FAM’s Jackson Donlan scored 22 points and hit three 3-pointers. Matthew Hagen and Maddox Kihne scored 11 points apiece.

Kimball/White Lake 45, Crow Creek 43

MITCHELL — Kimball/White Lake rallied past Crow Creek for a girls basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday. 

KWL’s Harley Namanny logged 15 points, while Ryann Nielsen added 11 points. Ryann Grussing finished with 10 points and Dani Deffenbaugh scored nine points. 

Crow Creek’s Ronessa Sazue scored 17 points and Kharmon Wells netted 15 points. Mackenzie Squirrel Coat added five points.

 

 


Crow Creek 67, Mitchell Christian 62

MITCHELL — Crow Creek held off Mitchell Christian for a boys basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday.

Crow Creek’s Quentin McBride Jr., scored 22 points. 

Mitchell Christian’s Aiden Lieber poured in 39 points. 


Freeman Academy/Marion 52, Lower Brule 49

MITCHELL — Freeman Academy/Marion outlasted Lower Brule for a girls basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday. 

FAM’s Alivea Weber scored 21 points, while Jada Koerner added 20 points. Leah Goodwin scored eight points. 

Lower Brule’s Courtney Traversie tossed in 14 points and Lamaira Middletent finished with 13 points. Kaiya Thompson scored 10 points and Brilyn LaRoche added six points. 


Custer 38, Platte-Geddes 33

MITCHELL — Custer clipped Platte-Geddes for a girls basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday.

Custer’s Allyson Cass scored 10 points, while Ramsey Karim netted nine points. Bailey Cass had seven points. 

Platte-Geddes’ Karly VanDerWerff finished with 17 points. Cadence VanZee recorded eight points. 


Lakota Tech 80, West Central 71

MITCHELL — Lakota Tech held off West Central for a girls basketball win at the Sacred Hoops Classic on Saturday.

Lakota Tech’s Jodene Hunter recorded 36 points, while Tawny Rodriguez finished with 17 points. Shania Ferguson added seven points. 

West Central’s Molli Thornton had 23 points, while Jazelle Jarding recorded 15 points. Tessa VanOverbeke added 12 points. Cambell Fischer finished with 11 points.

Lakota Tech 51, West Central 49

MITCHELL — Jordan Whirlwind Horse hit a go-ahead 3-pointer in the closing seconds to lift Lakota Tech to a boys basketball win over West Central at the Sacred Hoops Classic. 

Whirlwind Horse finished with 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Quincy Means added nine points. Kendrell Cuevas logged nine points, while Dominic Ghost Bear had nine points. Marvin Richard had five points. 

West Central’s Dylan Stromer tossed in 14 points, while Owen Heath logged eight points. Brodie Herr finished with seven points.
