White River 62, Philip 38

MURDO — White River claimed its 26th Jones County Invitational championship on Tuesday. It was also White River’s 19th JCI title since 2006. 

Tourney MVP Nic Marshall tossed in a game-high 30 points, while Jordan Uhlir posted 13 points. Ray Crow added seven points and Evastine Wright had six points. 

For Philip, Lane Kuchenbecker scored 15 points and Jess Jones had 11 points. Talan Haynes added six points. 


Jones County 63, Kadoka Area 50 

MURDO — Four players scored in double figures to pace Jones County to a third-place finish at the Jones County Invitational on Tuesday.

Cooper Feddersen finished with 21 points and nine rebounds. Jett Nix added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kaden Kinsley logged 11 points, while Bryer Kinsley had 10 points. Gunnar Whitney dished out 10 assists. 

For Kadoka Area, Gus Stout scored 22 points. Garrett Hermann had 11 points, while Jared Nemecek and Mason Stilwell scored six points apiece. 


Castlewood 68, Dell Rapids St. Mary 46

CASTLEWOOD — Lane Tvedt paced Class B No. 1 Castlewood to a boys basketball win over Class B No. 5 Dell Rapids St. Mary on Tuesday.

Tvedt poured in a game-high 38 points, while Bryon Laue had 11 points and 10 rebounds. Quincy Thu and Jamison Keszler scored five points apiece.

For Dell Rapids St. Mary, Maverick LeBrun finished with 17 points and Trevon Beckman added 15 points. Trimmier Hanson had eight points. 


Wessington Springs 58, James Valley Christian 56

WOLSEY — Parker Graff’s buzzer beater lifted James Valley Christian to a 281 Conference boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Graff finished with 29 points and hit four 3-pointers. Ryder Michalek had 19 points and Colby Flowers scored six points.

For JVC, Jerrad Wallman finished with 17 points and Dax Frandsen added 14 points. Isaac Korell logged 10 points and Davis Chase scored nine points. Ethan Bartholow scored six points. 


Timber Lake 66, Sully Buttes 65

TIMBER LAKE — Gracen Hansen buried a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Timber Lake to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Tristan Dupris tossed in a game-high 32 points, while Hansen finished with 12 points. Kyler Bollinger scored seven points and Kody Keller scored five points.

For Sully Buttes, Wesley Wittler scored 20 points. 


Hanson 54, Howard 49

ALEXANDRIA — Hanson held off Howard for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Jayce Slaba netted a game-high 18 points, while Isayah Price posted nine points and seven rebounds. A.J. Wilber had eight points and seven rebounds. Sutton Dewald added eight points.

For Howard, Kolt Koepsell had 18 points and eight rebounds. Luke Koepsell logged seven points and seven rebounds. Colby Claussen had nine points. 

 

Hamlin 64, De Smet 46

DE SMET — Class A No. 3 Hamlin pulled away from Class B No. 2 De Smet for a boys basketball win on Tuesday. 

Hamlin’s Easton Neuendorf finished with 20 points, while Tyson Stevenson added 17 points. Evan Stormo scored 12 points and Jackson Wadsworth logged 11 points.

For De Smet, George Jensen scored 12 points. Kadyn Fast and Grant Wilkinson scored 10 points apiece. Tom Aughenbaugh had seven points.


Highmore-Harrold 65, Sunshine Bible Academy 34

WOLSEY — Highmore-Harrold topped Sunshine Bible Academy in 281 Conference boys basketball tournament action on Tuesday.

Highmore-Harrold’s Carson Stephenson and Trake Cowan scored 18 points apiece. Miles McPeak scored seven points and Aiden Ferens had six points. Cowan collected 11 rebounds. 

For SBA, Dominic Kalacinski scored 16 points and Trey Thieman had 10 points. Jensen Wipf added five rebounds. Thieman added five steals and four assists. 


Mt. Vernon/Plankinton 64, Redfield 32

PLANKINTON — Mt. Vernon/Plankinton picked up a boys basketball win over Redfield on Tuesday.

MVP’s Zach Baker finished with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Tyce Feistner had 11 points and four steals. Blaine Bohr had eight points, while Dylan Rihanek, Jack Larsch, Caden Barnes and Mason Karst scored five points apiece. 

Redfield stats were not reported. 


Flandreau 60, Deuel 42

FLANDREAU – Three players scored in double figures to pace Deuel to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Paul Parsley finished with 18 points, 15 rebounds and four steals. Luke Sheppard had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Alfie Henderson scored 11 points.

For Deuel, Trey Maaland scored 16 points. 


Crow Creek 68, Miller 64

STEPHAN — Crow Creek clipped Miller for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Crow Creek’s Mickael Bernard scored 16 points.

Miller’s Alex Schumacher tossed in 32 points and Isaak Hunter scored 24 points. 


Corsica-Stickney 46, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 34

CORSICA — The Corsica-Stickney boys used a strong fourth-quarter to earn a win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian in boys basketball action Tuesday.  

Tyson Wentland paced Corsica-Stickney with 13 points and eight rebounds. Luca Catapano chipped in with 11 points. 

Peter Backes led Andes Central/Dakota Christian with 10 points with AJ Johnson scoring nine points. 


Viborg-Hurley 61, Avon 37

AVON — Nick Hanson powered Class B No. 4 Viborg-Hurley to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Hanson finished with 27 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots. Brady Schroedermeier had 10 points. Bryson Morrison added eight points and five assists. Nolan Kolthoff posted five points and four assists. 


Hitchcock-Tulare 58, Iroquois/Lake Preston 37

WOLSEY — Hitchcock-Tulare pulled away from Iroquois/Lake Preston for a 281 Conference boys basketball win on Tuesday.

HT’s Erik Salmen finished with 19 points, while Patrick Maynard had 16 points. Jackson Maynard added 12 points. Brendon Nowell scored six points.

For Iroquois/Lake Preston, Lucas Peskey scored 12 points. Josh McMasters scored nine points. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 43, Wolsey-Wessington 36

WOLSEY — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket edged Wolsey-Wessington for a 281 Conference boys basketball win on Tuesday.

SCW’s Payton Uecker and Trey Moody scored 10 points apiece. Bryce Larson scored nine points and Cody Slykhuis added eight points. Jeff Boschee finished with six points.

For WW, Moshe Richmond and Tate French scored 12 points apiece. Peyton Rainford and Caleb Richmond scored five points apiece. 

 

Platte-Geddes 68, Kimball/White Lake 35

PLATTE — Platte-Geddes picked up a boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Tuesday.

Platte-Geddes’ Tanner Dyk finished with 19 points, while Braxton Breukelman scored 16 points. Hayden Sprik posted 13 points and Parker Bailey had 10 points. 

For KWL, Blake Leiferman finished with 16 points and six rebounds. Nathan Mohnen added six points. Park Sinclair had five points and four rebounds.


Dakota Valley 70, West Central 55

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley won its 61st straight boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Dakota Valley’s Jaxson Wingert finished with 29 points and eight rebounds. Luke Bruns had 19 points and five rebounds. Logan Collette posted 12 points, while Charlie Margeas added 10 points, seven assists and four rebounds. 


Beresford 59, McCook Central/Montrose 35

SALEM — Beresford pulled away from McCook Central/Montrose for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Beresford’s Andrew Atwood finished with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four 3-pointers. Seth James added 13 points and 15 boards. Aidan Hamm had eight points, while Jon DeLay and Malachi James scored seven points apiece. Tiegan Nyhaug scored six points.

MCM’s Ty Morrison and Ben Wiebersick scored nine points apiece. Owen Alley had eight points. 


Freeman 71, Centerville 63

FREEMAN — Freeman held off Centerville for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Freeman’s Chris Aasen finished with 18 points, while Rocky Ammann and Tate Sorensen scored 15 points apiece. Sorensen had 10 rebounds. Luke Peters posted nine points and five rebounds. 

For Centerville, Cole Edberg had 15 points and seven rebounds. Brennan Tople and Aiden Bobzin scored 14 points apiece. 


Huron 67, Brookings 49 

HURON — Blake Ellwein and Anderson Porisch powered Huron to a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Ellwein finished with 23 points, five 3-pointers and four rebounds. Porisch had 14 points and eight rebounds. Kolton Ogle and Carsen Evans scored nine points apiece. CJ Gainey had five points and six assists.

For Brookings, Austin Clark scored 11 points. Ben Moret and Nathan Smith scored eight points apiece. Owen Burns had seven points and Griffen Bartels had five points. 


Tea Area 63, Watertown 62 (OT) 

TEA — Tea Area outlasted Watertown in overtime for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Tea Area’s Sam Almas finished with 24 points and nine assists. Jessen Wiebenga, Garrett Wiebenga and Griffin Wiebenga scored eight points apiece. Brenner Konrad scored six points. Marshall Smythe logged five points and five rebounds. 

For Watertown, Dylon Rawdon had 21 points and eight assists. Kohen Kranz had 21 points and three 3-pointers. Jake Olson added 10 points and Caden Beauchamp scored eight points.
