CHAMBERLAIN — Plankinton blanked Chamberlain and earned a spot to the Class B state amateur baseball tournament on Wednesday. The state tournament is Aug. 2-13 in Mitchell. 

Plankinton’s Hunter Pranger finished with two hits and drove in a run. Blaine Bohr and Thomas Stange both knocked in runs. Drew Gerlach earned the win after seven strikeouts, four hits allowed and zero runs through his eight-inning start.

For Chamberlain, Evan Stiener, Mike Schwartz, Kyle Forester and Ian Anderson each had hits. Adam Schroeder took the loss after allowing six hits, three earned runs, two walks and struck out three batters in eight innings.
