St. Thomas More 11, Rapid City Christian 1 (6 innings)

RAPID CITY — Ben Bowers and Sebastian Wald drove in three runs apiece as St. Thomas More earned a mercy rule win over Rapid City Christian in high school baseball action Thursday.

Bowers and Wald each had three hits and three RBIs in the win, Carter Kemp and Hayden Heig each added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Grayden Juve had two hits while Ian Quasney and Charles Rangel each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

Juve pitched four innings in the win, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three.

For RCC, Garrett Mellendorf allowed eight runs on 11 hits and three walks, striking out five in the loss.

Joe Samuelson, Turner Tonkel, Jett Dreyer and Owen Boorman each had a hit in the loss.


Dell Rapids 4, Lennox 2

LENNOX — Dell Rapids held off a late comeback to beat Lennox in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Gauge Bunkers earned the victory on the mound in six innings of work, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out five.

Drake Eastman batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs for the Quarriers, Connor Hanson added two hits while Jackson Peppel recorded an RBI-double in the win.

For Lennox, Cole Spieler allowed four runs on six hits and a walk in seven innings of work, striking out nine in the losing effort.

Gabe Veurink had two hits and an RBI while Talen Eich added an RBI-double in the loss.


Winner/Colome 13, Gregory County 5

WINNER — A 10-run first inning powered Winner/Colome over Gregory County in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Carter McKenzie drove in four runs on three hits, a double and a walk, Zac Olson, Quincy Phillips, Cooper Craven and Mason Beehler each drove in a run on two hits while Camden Anderson added two RBIs on a hit in the win.

Carter Foster pitched 1.1 innings to take the win on the mound, allowing four runs on two hits and seven walks, striking out two.

For GC, Cash Hemming allowed five runs on four hits and a walk to take the loss.

Carter Baumbgartner, Landon Keiser and Dylan Fiebelkorn each had an RBI in the loss.


Clark Area 6, Warner/Ipswich/Northwestern 3

CLARK — Clark Area clipped Warner/Ipswich/Northwestern in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Charlie Luvaas took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing two unearned runs on four hits and four walks, striking out five.

Jax Tharaldsen had three RBIs on a single, Caleb Drenth drove in a run on two hits while Ky Vandersnick added an RBI-walk in the win.

For WIN, Quinn Huetl allowed four runs on four hits and two walks in four innings of work, striking out one in the loss.

Mac Heinz drove in a run on a hit and two walks, Jacob Schmidt tallied two hits and a walk while Alec Mikkelsen and Lincoln Kroll each had an RBI in the loss.


Madison 6, Milbank 0

MILBANK — Cohen Hahn struck out 11 batters as Madison shutout Milbank in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Hahn allowed just three hits and three walks in seven shutout innings, striking out 11 in the win.

Darwin Corrales Gonzalez tallied two RBIs on a double and two walks while Nolan Fischer and Cale Johnson each had an RBI on one hit in the win.

For Milbank, Mack Koplin allowed one run on four walks in 2.1 innings in the loss, striking out two.

Mason Allen, Koplin and Bennett Hunt each had a hit in the loss.


Tri-Valley 15, Baltic 7

COLTON — A seven-run fifth-inning separated Tri-Valley from Baltic in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Cooper Durick, Treyson Richter and Lawson Schneiderman each had two RBIs on one hit, Brody Dybvig added an RBI on two hits and a walk, Dante Nehman had two hits and a walk while Tristen Bunde, Jackson Williams and Cole Hendrixson each had one RBI on one hit in the win.

Schneiderman pitched four innings in the win, allowing three runs on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts.

For Baltic, Laken Kortemeyer allowed six runs on five hits and five walks in four innings, striking out two.

Elias Oakley had three hits, Zach Helgeson added two RBIs on two hits and a walk while Jackson Goehring collected an RBI on two hits in the loss.


Dakota Valley 12, Canton 1 (6 innings)

CANTON — Noah Graham struck out nine batters as Dakota Valley earned a mercy rule win over Canton in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Graham allowed one run on three hits and two walks in six complete innings, striking out nine in the win.

Tyler Kloucek tallied a three-RBI-triple, Jack Wiese added two RBIs on two hits, including a double, Tate Cornelsen had an RBI on two hits while Graham and Jack Jones each had an RBI in the win.

For Canton, Kayden Chaulk allowed seven runs on five hits and two walks in four innings, striking out four.

Landon Hill drove in the lone run on one hit in the loss.


Pierre 3, Rapid City Stevens 2 (9 innings)

PIERRE — Porter Hunsley scored on a passed ball to earn a walk-off win for Pierre over Rapid City Stevens in high school baseball action Thursday.

Tripp Lindekugel had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Sutton Sonnenschein added an RBI-walk in the win.

Hunsley earned the win on the mound in 0.1 innings of relief, allowing a walk and a hit. Brennan McCullough pitched 8.2 innings for the Governors, allowing two unearned runs on eight hits while striking out six.

For Stevens, Trevor Schlosser allowed three unearned runs on four hits and a walk in eight innings of work, striking out nine. Bridger Mez had three hits, a double, triple, and two RBIs while Caidan Comparetto added three hits as well.


Rapid City Stevens 3, Pierre 1 (8 innings)

PIERRE — Two runs in the eighth inning pushed Rapid City Stevens over Pierre in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Brady Waddell earned the win on the mound in eight innings pitched, allowing one run on five hits and a walk, striking out 10 in the win. Caidan Comparetto had three hits and two RBIs while Trevor Schlosser added two hits, including a double, in the win.

For Pierre, Bridger Babcock allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk in eight innings of work, striking out two.

Will Eilers drove in the lone run on one hit in the loss.


O’Gorman 6, Harrisburg 3

HARRISBURG — O’Gorman jumped out to a 4-0 lead as O’Gorman beat Harrisburg in high school baseball action on Thursday.

O’Gorman’s Isaac Tobin took the win on the mound in five innings of work, allowing three runs on six hits and five walks, striking out two.

Sam Donohoe drove in two runs on two hits, Bennett Duncan added two hits and an RBI, Paxton Sohn and Alex McKinney each had an RBI on a hit and a walk while Joey Laible drew three walks and drove in a run in the loss.

For Harrisburg, Kade Wede allowed five runs on six hits and five walks in three innings, striking out seven.

Noah Rutten batted 3-for-4 with an RBI, Gavin Weir collected two hits and an RBI while Bryson Esser hit a solo homer in the loss.


Sioux Falls Lincoln 3, Sioux Falls Roosevelt 2

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln clipped Sioux Falls Roosevelt for a high school baseball win on Thursday.

Colin Lunders and Murphy Eisenberg each collected an RBI on two hits for the Pats, including a triple by Lunders, while Opland Sonnichsen added an RBI-triple in the win.

Cooper Wasmund took the win on the mound in 6.1 innings of work, allowing two runs on six hits and two walks, striking out eight.

For Roosevelt, Nick Reideman allowed three runs on five hits and a walk in four innings pitched, striking out four.

Lawsen Hensley and Chris Logue each had two hits while Carson Breidenbach added two RBIs on a triple in the loss.


Sioux Falls Jefferson 11, Sioux Falls Washington 0

SIOUX FALLS — Jefferson erupted for 10 hits as the Cavaliers rolled past Sioux Falls Washington in high school baseball action on Thursday.

Brody Jacobson had three hits and an RBI, Maddox Zens added two RBIs on two hits, Noah Grabow had two RBIs on a double and a walk, Easton Riley collected an RBI on a hit and a walk while Cason Mediger tallied two doubles and a walk in the win.

Matnel Jensen allowed four hits and two walks in seven shutout innings, striking out eight for the Cavaliers.

For Washington, Zaki Dillard allowed three runs on two hits and four walks in 1.1 innings, striking out two in the loss.

Tyler Ringheimer tallied two hits, one double, in the loss.


Belle Fourche 17, Hot Springs 1 (4 innings)

HOT SPRINGS — Trig Thomsen drove in four runs as Belle Fourche took down Hot Springs in mercy rule action on Thursday.

Thomsen batted 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs in the win, Raif Parmeter added three hits, a double, triple, and two RBIs, Caeyn Howard collected two RBIs on two hits, Tate Thomsen added two hits, a walk, and an RBI, Graham VanderBoom had an RBI-triple while Tyson Kracht and Urijah Hamilton each drove in a run in the win.

Carsyn Hahne allowed one unearned run on three hits in three innings pitched for the Broncs, striking out four to take the win on the mound.

For HS, Holten Rutz allowed 11 runs on seven hits and six walks in two innings, striking out two.

Nik Cruz had two hits in the loss.

 

Spearfish 13, Douglas 3 (6 innings)

SPEARFISH — Sean Sewell B McCann each drove in four runs as Spearfish blew past Douglas in high school baseball action Thursday.

Sewell batted 2-for-3 with a walk and four RBIs while McCann batted 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs as well for the Spartans. Tucker Viessman had two RBIs on two hits, Cooper Chase added two hits and an RBI, Darin Crooks had two hits and two walks while Walker Viessman had an RBI on a hit and two walks in the win.

Walker Viessman took the win on the mound in two shutout innings, allowing one walk while striking out one.

For Douglas, Carson Hicks allowed 11 runs on eight hits and eight walks in 4.1 innings, striking out five.

Bobby Steffy drove in two runs on one hit in the loss for the Patriots.
