Milbank sweeps Rob Luecke Invitational team titles

GROTON — Milbank swept the team titles at Tuesday’s Rob Luecke Invitational.

The Milbank girls recorded 123.5 points, finishing ahead of Warner (87.5) and Mobridge-Pollock (74). The Milbank boys logged 177.5 points, finishing ahead of Ipswich (87) and Mobridge-Pollock (86.5).  

In girls action, the Milbank quartet of Avery Schuneman, Zayda Townsend, Ella Koplin and Siera Wenzl won the 1,600-meter relay (4:18.16). 

The Milbank foursome of Ella Koplin, Zayda Townsend, Bianca Berry and Ashlynn Batchelor won the 3,200-meter relay (10:18.04). 

The Milbank team of Jacy Dexter, Zayda Townsend, Ella Koplin and Ashlynn Batchelor won the sprint medley relay (4:38.77). 

Dexter (9-6) and teammate Maggie Kruger (9-6) finished first and second, respectively, in the pole vault. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Ryli Thompson was a double winner in the 100-meter dash (:12.76) and 200-meter dash (:28.38). 

James Valley Christian’s Lainey Goertz won the 100-meter hurdles (:17.85) and placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (:52.65). 

In boys action, Milbank’s Emmett Hanson was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.31) and 300-meter hurdles (:44.88). Hanson anchored Milbank’s winning 1,600-meter relay (3:39.85). The Milbank quartet of Bryan Meyer, Beckham Berry, Bennett Graham and Liam Street won the 3,200-meter relay (9:20.05). 

Meyer won the 800-meter run (2:10.40). Milbank’s Payton Brown won the 1,600-meter run (4:35.08), while teammate James Batchelor placed second in 4:37.40. In the 3,200-meter run, Brown earned a first-place finish in 10:10.27 and Batchelor placed third in 10:23.44.

Milbank’s Jayden Johnson won the pole vault (13-0) and teammate Samuel Rick won the triple jump (42-3). 

Groton Area’s Keegen Tracy won the 100-meter dash (:11.23) and 200-meter dash (:24.64). 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Shane Henderson won the 400-meter dash (:54.29) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:16.62). 

Warner’s Alex Pudwill earned a first-place finish in the javelin (143-5) and placed second in the discus (132-10).
