Milbank sweeps team titles at South Dakota National Guard Invitational

MILBANK — Milbank captured both team titles at Friday’s South Dakota National Guard Invitational.

The Milbank boys logged 165 points, finishing well ahead of second-place Aberdeen Roncalli (87). The Milbank girls recorded 138 points, holding off Groton Area (131) for the team title. 

Groton Area’s Keegen Tracy won the 100-meter dash (:11.43), 200-meter dash (:23.71) and placed second in the 400-meter dash (:52.44). 

Tri-State’s Kaleb Foltz won the 400-meter dash (:49.92) and 800-meter run (2:01.93). 

Northwestern’s Lincoln Woodring won the 1,600-meter run (4:46.47) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:02.68). 

Milbank’s Emmett Hanson captured first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.93) and 300-meter hurdles (:42.07). Hanson added a third-place finish in the javelin (113-9). 

The Milbank boys won the 400-meter relay (:49.52), 1,600-meter relay (3:36.20) and 3,200-meter relay (8:49.90). 

In girls action, Northwestern’s Ella Boekelheide won the 400-meter dash (1:01.10) and 3,200-meter run (11:23.88). 

Tri-State’s Alyvia Geffre won the 1,600-meter run (2:36.86) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:41.21). 

Groton Area’s McKenna Tietz won the 300-meter hurdles (:52.95) and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles (:18.30). 

Sisseton’s Chloe Langager won the shot put (37-1.5) and placed third in the discus (89-5). 

Great Plains Lutheran’s Abigail Kjenstad won the high jump (4-9), finished second in the triple jump (31-11.5) and placed third in the long jump (14-5.5). 

The Groton Area girls won the 400-meter relay (:54.02) and 3,200-meter relay (10:19.33).

The Great Plains Lutheran girls won the 1,600-meter relay (4:17.61) and sprint medley relay (4:23.95).
