Mobridge-Pollock track and field teams take second at home meet

MOBRIDGE — The Mobridge-Pollock track and field teams captured second-place finishes at the Mobridge-Pollock Early Bird on Thursday.

On the boys side, Standing Rock, North Dakota won the team title. Mobridge-Pollock and Timber Lake finished second and third, respectively. 

On the girls side, Shiloh Christian, North Dakota won the team title with 133 points. Mobridge-Pollock (114) and Lemmon (92) placed second and third, respectively. 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Heidi Olson was a double winner in the 1,600-meter run (5:33.46) and 3,200-meter run (12:01.72). Mobridge-Pollock’s Faith Heil won the 800-meter run (2:41.08).

Mobridge-Pollock’s Ryli Thompson won the 200-meter dash (:27.85).

Herreid/Selby Area’s Breanna Jochim won the 100-meter dash (:13.69), placed second in the long jump (15-0) and third in the 200-meter dash (:28.20).

In the pole vault, Lemmon’s Payton Olson (8-6) and Jordyn Kohn (8-0) placed first and second, respectively. 

The Mobridge-Pollock quartet of Jacy Netterville, Faith Heil, Jayda Thompson and Ryli Thompson won the 1,600-meter relay in 4:21.37.

The Lemmon quartet of Chel Odenbach, Brynn Odenbach, Jordyn Kohn and Emily Faughn won the 3,200-meter relay in 10:53.50.

The Groton Area foursome of Laila Roberts, Rylee Dunker, Taryn Traphagen and Faith Traphagen won the sprint medley in 4:38.45.

On the boys side, Mobridge-Pollock’s Simon Fried was a double winner in the long jump (20-3) and 300-meter hurdles (:41.89), edging Timber Lake’s Gracen Hansen (:41.89) for the title. Hansen captured the triple jump (39-1.75). 

Mobridge-Pollock’s Jackson Eisemann won the 100-meter dash (:12.40) and placed third in the 200-meter dash (:24.45). Carter Hinsz won the shot put (45-4.5) and Kellen Pfitzer won the discus (144-5) for the Tigers. 

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte’s Jayden Taken Alive captured the 1,600-meter run (4:53.20) and placed second in the 800-meter run (2:15.72).

The Timber Lake quartet of Cole Ducheneaux, Eddie Keller, Gracen Hansen and Gavin Farlee won the 800-meter relay in 1:36.90. 

The McLaughlin foursome of Tyler Bull Head, Renzo Bull Head, John Eagle and Cassidy Demery won the sprint medley relay in 4:05.36.

The Stanley County quartet of Spencer Sargent, Brendon Bothwell, Landon Bame and Tyson Peterson won in 3:49.17.
