Platte-Geddes 3, Belle Fourche 0

SIOUX FALLS — Platte-Geddes swept Belle Fourche in consolation action at the Class A state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-22 and 25-22. 

Karly VanDerWerff finished with 20 kills, three blocks, 12 digs and three aces. Cadence Van Zee had 13 kills, nine digs and two aces. Avery DeVries finished with 36 assists, three blocks and six digs. Hadley Hanson contributed nine digs while Baleigh Nachtigal had eight digs

Belle Fourche’s Mataya Ward had another strong outing with ten kills, four gis and a block. Lily McCarty finished with 22 assists, five digs, a block, an ace and two kills. Adryana Hovland tallied six kills and nine digs. Sloan Young had five kills while Grace Clooten and four kills.

Dakota Valley 3, Wagner 0

SIOUX FALLS — Dakota Valley swept Wagner in consolation action at the Class A state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-11 and 25-17. 

Claire Munch led Dakota Valley with 11 kills while adding 10 digs and a block. Logan Miller dished out 35 assists and finished with two digs, a block and a kill. Jorja Van Den Hul had 11 kills, two aces, two digs and a block. Addison Kleis finished with seven kills while Kate VanRooyan contributed 20 digs and an ace. 

For Wagner, Emma Yost finished with six kills, 11 digs and a block. Macy Koupal had 19 assists and 11 digs. Kya Kjedgaard, Avari Bruguier and Shalayne Nagel each had four kills for the Red Raiders. 

 

Sioux Falls Christian 3, Elk Point-Jefferson 0

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Christian swept Elk Point-Jefferson in semifinal action at the Class A state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-7 and 25-15. 

Ellie Lems helped Sioux Falls Christian with a 12 kill, two dig performance. Addisen Barber contributed 32 assists, 11 digs, four kills, two blocks and two aces. Peyton Poppema finished with ten kills and 11 digs. Sidney Oostra tallied 12 digs, ten kills, two assists and an ace. Lavin Maddox had ten kills and Taylor Byl had five kills and two digs. 

Sophia Giorgio led Elk Point-Jefferson with 16 assists and 12 digs. Josie Curie had six kills and two blocks for the Huskies. Danica Torrez finished with four kills and seven digs while Bentlee Kollbaum contributed five kills and four digs. 

Sioux Falls Christian takes on Elkton-Lake Benton on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Class A state volleyball championship.

 

 


 

Elkton-Lake Benton 3, Miller 0

SIOUX FALLS — Elkton-Lake Benton swept Miller in semifinal action at the Class A state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-22, 25-9 and 25-21. 

Rachel Krog paced the Elks with 11 kills and 17 digs. Tevan Erickson tallied 29 assists, 14 digs and two aces. Kailyn Drietz finished with ten kills and six digs. Kayla Goertz had 14 digs while Andrea Renkly had six kills and four digs. Kinsley Krog added five digs with Aubree Bales finishhing with three kills and three digs. 

Ally Mullaney led Miller with 12 kills. Tyra Gates dished out 25 assists and also had ten digs and three kills. Jaden Werdel contributed 11 digs, six kills and four assists. Abigail Blake had four kills and Shaylee Anderberg tallied three digs. 

Elkton-Lake Benton takes on Sioux Falls Chrisitian on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Class A state volleyball championship.

 

Warner 3, Wolsey-Wessington 0

SIOUX FALLS — Warner swept Wolsey-Wessington in semifinal action at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-15 and 25-11. 

Ava Nillson finished with 32 assists, ten digs, three blocks and four kills to lead Warner. Kyra Marcuson led the hitters with 13 kills while adding three digs. Courtney Bjorgaard had 11 kills while Lauren Marcuson had seven kills, eight digs, an ace and an assist. Kyleigh Schopp tallied five kills and three blocks while Kamryn Anderson had five kills, eight digs and three blocks. 

Mya Boomsma and Leah Williams each had six kills to lead the Warbirds. Boomsma added six digs and an ace while Williams had seven digs and an assist. Mallory Miller finished with six kills, three blocks and an assist. Lainey Uttecht had 15 kills while Payton Kemnitz had six assists, six digs and an ace. 

Warner takes on Chester Area on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Class B state volleyball championship. 

 

 



Chester Area 3, Burke 1

SIOUX FALLS — Chester Area derailed Burke in a four-set match at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 24-26, 25-19, 27-25 and 25-22. 

Lily VanHal paced the Flyers with 23 kills, 20 assists, 13 digs and three aces. Jacy Wolf tallied 28 assists, 15 digs and 11 kills. Kaylor Geraets and Emery Larson finished with 25 and 21 digs respectively. Addison Bates tallied 11 kills, three digs and two blocks while Emmerson Eppard had five kills and two digs. 

Kailee Frank had a strong night for Burke with 18 kills and 25 digs. Adisyn Indahl finished with 14 kills, 27 digs, a block and an ace. Elly Witt had 28 assists and 12 kills with Ava Sargent having 13 assists and 11 kills. Elle Johnson led Burke with 37 digs. 

Chester Area takes on Warner on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Class B state volleyball championship.


Northwestern 3, Freeman 0

SIOUX FALLS — Northwestern swept Freeman in consolation action at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-17, 25-12 and 25-15. 

Northwestern’s Ella Haven continued her strong play with 25 kills, 12 digs and five blocks. Brooklinn Halvorson finished with 33 assists, four aces and eight digs. Ashley Haven tallied 11 kills, six digs and an ace. Ella Boekelheide finished with three kills, 17 digs and two blocks. Payton Grandpre had 13 digs and two aces while Adriana Ratigan notched four kills for the Wildcats. 

Freeman was led by Kate Miller who finished with nine kills, three digs and a block. Cami Fransen had 12 assists, two digs, a block and an ace. Ashlin Jacobsen tallied 27 digs and five kills while Zenovia Butler had 11 digs and five kills. 


Castlewood 3, Colman-Egan 1

SIOUX FALLS — Castlewood defeated Colman-Egan in four sets during consolation action at the Class B state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-18, 17-25, 27-25 and 25-18. 

Mackenzie Everson led Castlewood in kills (17) and digs (23). She also added two blocks and an ace. Gracie Haug finished with 38 assists, 22 digs and two blocks. Emerson Carter had 12 kills and three blocks while Madeline Horn had ten kills, seven digs and an ace. Lynsdey Archer and Kailyn Larson had seven and eight digs respectively. 

Berkled Groos led Colman-Egan in kills (10) and digs (22). Daneila Lee finished with eight kills, ten digs, five blocks and three aces. Kadence Landis tallied nine kills, four digs and an ace while Brynlee Landis helped out with eight kills and three blocks. 

 

 

 

Sioux Falls Jefferson 3, Sioux Falls Washington 2

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Jefferson won a five-set marathon against Sioux Falls Washington at the Class AA state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-23, 12-25, 25-22, 20-25 and 15-7. 

Presly Pastian finished with 37 assists, 18 digs, two blocks and two kills to lead Sioux Falls Jefferson. Ella Kvernmo finished with 12 kills, 16 digs and a block. Madison Paulsen tallied 12 kills, four digs and four blocks. Cora Hokenstad finished with 19 kills and three assits while Kendall Kniffen had ten kills. 

Joslyn Richardson paced Sioux Falls Washington with 25 kills while adding 14 digs, three blocks and four aces. Carlie Beckstrand had 15 kills, two digs and two blocks. Macie Malchow tallied 42 assists, ten digs and two aces. Cate Legel had eight kills and 16 digs while Grace Nesdahl had five kills, four digs and three blocks. 

Sioux Falls Jefferson takes on Harrisburg for the Class AA state volleyball championship at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. 


Harrisburg 3, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 1

SIOUX FALLS — Harrisburg advanced to the Class AA state volleyball championship with a four-set win over Sioux Falls O’Gorman on Friday. The set scores were 21-25, 25-21, 25-23 and 25-23. 

Gabrielle Zachariasen had a big night for Harrisburg with 18 kills and 11 assists. Kayleigh Hybertson handed out 41 assists and finished with 13 digs, four blocks, two assists and three kills. Kaelyn Snoozy had 12 kills and 11 digs while Morrisen Samules tallied 11 kills and 17 digs. Maggie Meister led the Tigers with 22 digs. 

Bergen Reilly helped the Knights with 19 kills, 13 digs and two assists. Brogan Beck added 13 kills and five blocks. Brooke Harvison finished with 36 assists and 13 digs. Gabriella Jones and Makayla Tiahrt had 20 and 19 digs respectively. 

Harrisburg meets Sioux Falls Jefferson on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. for the Class AA state volleyball championship.

 

 



Pierre 3, Rapid City Stevens 2

SIOUX FALLS — Pierre earned a five-set win in consolation action at the Class AA state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 22-25 and 15-9. 

Reese Terwilliger came up big at the net finishing with 15 kills and seven blocks. Ayvrie Kaiser finished with 15 kills, thirteen digs and three blocks. Aleise Christopherson handed out 24 assists and had seven digs. Remington Price paced Pierre with 24 digs while Lainey Reinke had 13 digs. Lily Sanchez had 15 digs, seven kills, a block and an ace. 

For Rapid City Stevens, Macey Wathen had 17 kills, 12 digs, a block, an ace and three assists. Carsyn Mettler led the Raiders with 24 digs and 27 assists. Isabell Higgins had 13 kills, 14 assists and an ace. Claire Fierro had four kills and four blocks while Alexa Morin-Baxter had four blocks and two kills. 


Sioux Falls Lincoln 3, Huron 2

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln outlasted Huron in a five-set match at the Class AA state volleyball tournament on Friday. The set scores were 25-23, 14-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 15-11. 

Nyareal Kutey finished with 14 kills and five blocks to lead the Patriots. Linnea Nesheim tallied 13 kills, 11 digs and a block. Samantha Zeeck finished with 36 assists to go along with 12 digs and two aces. Claire Brown had 43 digs and Sophia Siegel had 13 digs and five kills. 

Huron’s Heavan Gainey had a big afternoon for Huron with 18 kills, 17 digs and two blocks. Hamtyn Heinz finished with 42 assists, 13 digs and seven kills. Brynn Gose and Karsyn Kopfmann had 15 and 12 kills respectively.
