Sioux Falls Lincoln 60, Rapid City Central 21

SIOUX FALLS — Sioux Falls Lincoln flipped a 21-13 deficit into a 39-point Class 11AAA quarterfinal playoff win on Thursday.

The Patriots trailed 21-13, but scored 47 unanswered points and rolled into the Class 11AAA semifinals. 

Brody Schafer powered Lincoln with 146 yards rushing, 160 yards passing and five total touchdowns. He passed three touchdown passes to Mikey Roche, another one to Javon Haukaas and rushed for a touchdown. Haukaas added a rushing touchdown. Devonte Wilson added two rushing touchdowns, while Jakobi Green had a rushing score. 

For Rapid City Central, Brayden Jackson rushed for two touchdowns, while Trajan Weaver connected with Easton Graff for a touchdown reception. 


Alcester-Hudson 24, Platte-Geddes 20

ALCESTER — No. 3 Alcester-Hudson scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to beat No. 6 Platte-Geddes in 9A quarterfinal action Thursday.

AH’s Tommy Walth ran 21 times for 82 yards and a touchdown, adding 12 completions for 109 yards and a touchdown as well. Darin Dykstra rushed 10 times for 45 yards and a touchdown, adding three receptions for 14 yards and a touchdown through the air. Jackson Meyer led the all receivers with four grabs for 41 yards while Karsen Sommervold led the defense in tackles with 7.5, while Meyer sealed the win with an interception. 

For PG, Jye Bailey ran 23 times for 148 yards and two touchdowns, Kenyon Kuiper rushed 15 times for 62 yards while completing two passes for 82 yards and a touchdown, throwing a 72 yard touchdown pass to Isaac Leader. Chris Bass led the Black Panther defense with 6.5 tackles in the loss. 


Elk Point-Jefferson 49, Sioux Valley 14

ELK POINT — Top-seeded Elk Point-Jefferson cruises to a Class 11B quarterfinal win over No. 8 Sioux Valley Thursday.

Aiden Hammitt had four carries for 120 yards and two touchdowns, Beau Schmitz added eight carries for 101 yards and a touchdown, Brody VanRoekel collected seven carries for 63 yards and two touchdowns, Luke Schmitz added a 1-yard rushing touchdown, Levi Hanson completed two passes for 84 yards and a touchdown with both completions going to Hammitt in the win.

SV’s Wyatt Hardt rushed 22 times for 115 yards and a touchdown, Mitchell Guthmiller recorded 19 carries for 42 yards while Braeden Danzeisen had three carries for six yards and a touchdown run. Hardt completed four passes for 64 yards, with two completions going to Guthmiler for 34 yards in the loss.


St. Mary’s 56, Corsica-Stickney 6

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary’s rolled past Corsica-Stickney and advanced to the Class 9B semifinals on Thursday. The Cardinals finished with 463 total yards, including 321 yards on the ground. 

Lincoln LeBrun rushed for 116 yards on eight carries and scored a rushing touchdown. Trimmier Hanson added eight carries for 34 yards and a touchdown. Thomas LaVoy rushed for 161 yards on six carries. Jake Heinitz, Jacob Geraets and Jaxon Baumberger rushed for touchdowns. Logan Bauer hauled in four catches for 120 yards and caught two touchdown passes. 

Hanson completed 3-of-4 passes for two touchdowns. Defensively, Gavin Pica posted 10.5 tackles. LeBrun had 9.5 tackles and scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery. Kade Lutt and Hanson had interceptions. 

Corsica-Stickney stats were not reported. 


Deuel 27, Wagner 12

CLEAR LAKE — No. 4 Deuel pulled away from No. 5 Wagner in Thursday’s Class 11B quarterfinal action.

Gavin Kloos led the Cardinal offense with 24 carries for 107 yards and three touchdown runs. Aidan Sievers had 20 pass attempts for 86 yards, completing five to Oliver Fieber for 52 yards. Carson Marko led the Cardinal defense with 11 tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery, while Troy Jenson had two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown in the win.

Wagner’s Gannon Knebel had 17 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown, adding 19 pass attempts for 132 yards, completing two passes to Shea Kjeldgaard for 80 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown pass in the loss. Payne Petry led the defense with nine tackles, while Knebel recorded eight tackles and 0.5 sacks.


West Central 29, Madison 20

MADISON — No. 5 West Central came out on top against No. 4 Madison in Thursday’s Class 11B quarterfinal action.

Hayden Whiting rushed 36 times for 202 yards and two touchdowns in the win for the Trojans, Carter Gross added 95 yards on 15 carries as well. Gross completed six passes for 95 yards, a touchdown and an interception, Hayden Heier caught three passes for 38 yards while Kolte Garry had a 39-yard touchdown reception in the win. Kolte Garry recorded a 45-yard pick-six in the win as well. Ashton Gebhard recorded nine tackles for the Trojan defense, including one tackle for loss as well.

For Madison, Henry Veenhof had 13 carries for 25 yards and a touchdown, completing nine passes for 144 yards and a touchdown as well. Shane Veenhof caught four passes for 87 yards while Kaysen Gust caught a four-yard touchdown in the loss. Tucker King led the Madison defense with 14 tackles as well.


Pierre 41, Tea Area 7

PIERRE — Jerren Deal totaled five touchdowns as No. 3 Pierre ran away with a Class 11AA quarterfinal win over No. 6 Tea Area Thursday.

Deal completed 13-of-18 pass attempts for 324 yards and four touchdowns, adding 12 carries for 52 yards and a touchdown on the ground in the win. Porter Hunsley had eight carries for 78 yards, Carter Schiefelbein caught seven passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns, Hudson Stoeser tallied three receptions for 72 yards, Cooper Terwilliger caught two passes for 66 yards and a touchdown while Aydan Behm had one 18-yard touchdown reception in the win.

For Tea Area, Mitch Grant ran 17 times for 84 yards, completing 14 passes for 123 yards, one touchdown and one interception, completing six passes to Grifin Wiebenga for 72 yards and a touchdown. Wiebenga led the defense with eight tackles in the loss as well.
