Elk Point-Jefferson 32, Mount Vernon/Plankinton 14

MOUNT VERNON — Class 11B No. 1 Elk Point-Jefferson outlasted Mount Vernon-Plankinton during Friday’s high school football action.

EPJ’s Brody Van Roekel got the night started with two rushing touchdowns before Aiden Hammit plunged in for the third rushing score for the Huskies. Dawson Fullenkamp returned an interception 20 yards for a pick-six while Beau Schmitz added a touchdown run as well.

For MVP, Tyce Feistner threw two touchdown passes to Riley Mayer and Kyle Sandland in the loss.


Harding County/Bison 58, New Underwood 14

BUFFALO — Harding County/Bison racked up 344 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win.

HCB’s Elim Simmons rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns. Tyrel Koan, Hayden Pihl and Kyle Stadler added rushing touchdowns. Ryder Hunsucker passed for two touchdowns. Koan hauled in 48 yards receiving. Pihl and Shay Smith had four tackles apiece.

For New Underwood, Blake Beer passed for 151 yards and a touchdown. Beer added a rushing touchdown. Gunner Garrett rushed for 44 yards. Jarren Hanks hauled in 85 yards receiving. Garrett posted nine tackles on defense. 


Alcester-Hudson 41, Irene-Wakonda 8

ALCESTER — Class 9A No. 3 Alcester-Hudson piled up nearly 400 yards of offense as it defeated Irene-Wakonda during Friday’s high school football action.

Jackson Meyer led the Cubs with three carries for 73 yards and a score, Liam Moumy had three carries for 53 yards, Darin Dykstra added 46 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, Owen Serck recorded 23 yards and a score on the ground while Tommy Walth added 23 yards and a touchdown as well. Walth completed 14 passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns, with Dykstra catching both touchdowns. Meyer caught five passes for 70 yards in the win as well.

For IW, Aidan Mulder and Tristin Llewellyn each had 67 rushing yards, Brody Johnke completed five passes for 18 yards and a score while Christian Putman caught four passes for six yards and a touchdown in the loss.


Avon 48, Burke 0

BURKE — Class 9B No. 2 Avon poured it on as the Pirates defeated Burke during Friday’s high school football action.

Trenton Soukup led the Pirates rushing attack with 84 yards and a score on 10 carries, Easton Sees added four carries for 68 yards and a touchdown, Cale Cooper added nine carries for 47 yards and two touchdowns, while Grayson Ratzloff ran three times for 63 yards. Sees completed both pass attempts for 72 yards, with one going for a 25-yard touchdown to Al’Shamon Gunter. Jamie Pelton recorded a 47-yard reception as well.

For Burke, John DeLong rushed eight times for 20 yards, Elijah Bartling had three completions for 33 yards while Masen Hausmann caught two passes for 11 yards in the loss.


Sunshine Bible Academy 52, Colome 0

MILLER — Sunshine Bible Academy totaled 261 yards on the ground as the Crusaders ran away from Colome during Friday’s high school football action.

Seth Jonechne had 88 yards and a touchdown on seven carries, Toby Mickelson recorded 66 yards and a score on three carries, Tarrence Mickelson added four carries for 44 yards and a touchdown, Carter Crump ran the ball twice for 43 yards and a score while Nick Erickson added 37 yards and two touchdowns on just three carries. Konechne led the SBA defense with eight tackles.

For Colome, Harley Supik had 13 carries for 47 yards in the loss.


Britton-Hecla 61, Redfield 22

BRITTON — Britton-Hecla ran for 303 yards as the Braves defeated Redfield in high school football action Friday.

Lofton Heer rushed four times for 96 yards and a touchdown, Bryce Hawkinson had 81 yards and a touchdown on three carries, Max Suther tallied 36 yards on four carries, Bryce Heitkamp tallied 18 yards and a score on four carries while Jaxon Zuehlke ran in a nine-yard touchdown in the win. Jace Rein and Heer each tossed one touchdown as well, with Bennet Suther and Chaz Vietor each catching touchdowns for the Braves.

For Redfield, Conner Zens rushed 16 times for 69 yards and a touchdown, Chase Odland added 17 carries for 47 yards and a score. Odland also completed seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown, connecting with Grady Hulscher for a 61-yard score in the loss.


Warner 36, Ipswich 30

IPSWICH — Class 9A No. 2 Warner came back from a 22-point deficit to stun Ipswich during Friday’s high school football action.

Chays Mansfield completed 12 of 21 pass attempts for 123 yards, Jesiah Baum caught six passes for 70 yards and touchdown while rushing 10 times for 50 yards and a rushing touchdown. Baum also returned a punt for a score in the win as well. Alec Mikkelsen caught three passes for 29 yards and a touchdown for the Monarchs as well. Mansfield led the defense with 13 tackles.

For Ipswich, Hayden Schlosser had nine completions for 81 yards and one touchdown pass. Casey Geditz ran 14 times for 143 yards and two touchdowns, Shay Knust caught five passes for 18 yards and a touchdown, while Kyle Hettich returned a kick for a score for the Tigers as well.

 

Dell Rapids St. Mary 52, Arlington 0 

DELL RAPIDS — Class 9B No. 3 Dell Rapids St. Mary blanked Arlington in Friday high school football action. DRSM rushed for 376 yards in the win.

Lincoln LeBrun finished with six carries for 197 yards and two touchdowns in the win. He added 3.5 tackles on defense. Trimmier Hanson passed for 54 yards and threw a passing touchdown. Hanson added 39 yards rushing and scored a rushing touchdown. Kade Lutt had 23 yards receiving. Pano Skliris rushed for 58 yards and scored a touchdown. Kade Lutt and Jacob Geraets rushed for touchdowns. Geraets posted 4.5 tackles and Jake Heinitz recorded an interception. 


Wagner 35, Hot Springs 7

HOT SPRINGS — Wagner’s Gannon Knebel powered Class 11B No. 2 Wagner to a Friday high school football win.

Knebel passed for 251 yards and tossed two passing touchdown passes, while rushing for 122 yards and three more scores. Knebel added seven tackles and an interception on defense. Shea Kjeldgaard hauled in 96 yards receiving and a touchdown reception. Cruise Koupal had 63 yards receiving and a touchdown reception. Slaten Podzimek posted four tackles and an interception. 


Canistota 30, Iroquois/Lake Preston 12

LAKE PRESTON — Easton Miller totaled over 200 yards and two touchdowns as Canistota beat Iroquois/Lake Preston during Friday’s high school football action.

Miller collected 157 yards and a touchdown on the ground, adding 53 yards and a score on two receptions in the win. Prayden Acheson added 11 carries for 74 yards and a score, while Carter Becker caught a five-yard touchdown. Nate Merrill completed six passes for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Miller also led the defense in the win with 8.5 tackles.

For the Sharks, Lucas Peskey caught five passes for 145 yards and a score, Brycen Blue completed nine passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns, Carter Arbeiter hauled in two passes for 42 yards while Ervin Carter added 25 yards and a touchdown on two catches. Ben Curd led the defense with 7.5 tackles.


Deuel 48, Aberdeen Roncalli 26

CLEAR LAKE — Gavin Kloos rushed for 207 yards as Deuel ran away from Aberdeen Roncalli during Friday’s high school football action.

Kloos totaled 207 yards on 16 carries, adding three touchdowns as well. Aidan Sievers had 111 passing yards on 11 attempts, running in one touchdown. Ryker Granger tallied a rushing score in the win as well. Defensively Carson Marko led the Cardinals with 11 tackles while Troy Jenson highlighted the defensive plays with a 102 yard pick-six in the fourth quarter.

For Roncalli, Will Haskell had 78 rushing yards on 14 carries, adding a 51-yard touchdown reception as well. Austin Fisher passed for 174 yards on 15 attempts, throwing two touchdowns. Brock Bowman led the defense with nine tackles.


Madison 21, Dell Rapids 20 

MADISON — Madison clipped Dell Rapids in a Friday high school football game. 

Madison’s Henry Veenhof finished with 197 yards passing and two touchdowns, while he rushed for 93 yards. Caleb Hodges added a rushing touchdown. Shane Veenhof hauled in 84 yards receiving and a touchdown reception. Myles Schneider hauled in 84 yards receiving. Caleb Pettersen posted 15 tackles on defense. 

For Dell Rapids, Devin Lodmell, Ryan Stubbe and Drake Eastman rushed for touchdowns. Lodemell had a team-high 89 rushing yards. Eastman passed for 26 yards and posted eight tackles on defense.


Tri-Valley 34, Milbank 0

MILBANK — Tri-Valley blanked Milbank during Friday’s high school football action.

Brady Jewett completed five passes for 92 yards while rushing for a touchdown as well. Brody Dybvig added 57 yards and a score on the ground as well. Ty Oyen completed seven passes for 73 yards and a touchdown, while Dybvig and Luke Nehlich each tallying three tackles defensively.

For Milbank, Braylen Bowsher had four completions for 52 yards and two picks. Zack Karges rushed three times for 12 yards, while Sam Rick caught two passes for 40 yards in the loss.


Dakota Valley 35, Canton 14

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Dakota Valley racked up 407 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win over Canton.

Dakota Valley’s Bennett Lukken piled up 292 rushing yards on 36 carries and scored five touchdowns. 

For Canton, Alex Rhead passed for 205 yards and threw a touchdown pass to Ryder Thompson. Thompson hauled in 100 yards receiving on four catches. Aiden Schrempp added a rushing touchdown for Canton, which finished with 269 total yards. 


Tea Area 25, Aberdeen Central 7

ABERDEEN — Tea Area topped Aberdeen Central in a Friday high school football game. 

The Titans finished with 296 total yards, including 213 on the ground. 

Tea Area’s Mitch Grant finished with 93 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Kade Korleski had 69 yards rushing and a touchdown. Daschle Lowery passed for 45 yards and Griffin Wiebenga had 52 yards receiving. 

For Aberdeen Central, Brayden Bowman passed for 201 yards and a touchdown. Karson Borge hauled in six catches for 123 yards. Carter Lust caught a touchdown pass.
