Lennox 18, Vermillion 12 

LENNOX — Lennox’s Boston Katzer hit Drake Mikkelsen for a game-winning 28-yard touchdown reception with eight seconds left on Friday.

Vermillion evened the score at 12-12 on a Cameron Bottoifson scoop and score on a bobbled punt snap with 1:30 left. 

Katzer finished 14 of 21 for 121 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Lennox finished with 145 rushing yards. 

Vermillion’s Hayden Christopherson completed 15 of 29 passes for 136 yards and three interceptions. 

Sioux Valley 20, Elk Point-Jefferson 11

VOLGA — Class 11B No. 3 Sioux Valley clipped Class 11B No. 2 Elk Point-Jefferson in a top-five high school football game on Friday. 

Sioux Valley’s Boden Schiller finished with 148 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdown passes, including an 83-yard score in the fourth quarter. Brock Christopherson added 51 rushing yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. Donovan Rose rushed for 31 yards. Schiller added 17 passing yards, while Jace Christensen had nine receiving yards. Christopherson posted 15 tackles and Schiller added 13 tackles. Hudsyn Ruesink had nine tackles and an interception. 

For EPJ, Keaton Gale rushed for 60 yards and passed for 97 yards. He connected with Luke Schmitz for a 65-yard touchdown pass. Jacob Gale rushed for 59 yards and Gunner Ewing had 30 rushing yards. Schmitz hauled in 66 receiving yards. Carson Timmins booted a 20-yard field goal. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 28, Bon Homme 14

ELKTON — Class 9AA No. 4 Elkton-Lake Benton rushed for 251 yards on its way to a Friday high school football win. 

Blake DeVries rushed for 94 yards on six carries and scored two touchdowns. Riddick Westley added 83 rushing yards on 10 carries and scored a touchdown. Colt Beck logged 74 rushing yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. Beck completed 5 of 7 passes for 41 yards. Carson Griffith hauled in 28 receiving yards on three catches. 

DeVries added 12 tackles and Teigan Krog posted 10.5 tackles. 

For Bon Homme, Landon Schmidt rushed for 118 yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown. Schmidt completed three passes for 49 yards and threw a passing touchdown to Chapin Cooper.

Winner 46, Webster Area 14

WINNER — Class 11B No. 1 Winner rushed for 392 yards on its way to a Friday night high school football win. 

Aiden Barfuss and Karson Keiser again did a bulk of the rushing for the Warriors. Barfuss rushed 12 times for 187 yards and scored three touchdowns. Keiser added 138 rushing yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns. Jude Sargent logged 28 rushing yards. Barfuss added 3.5 tackles, while Stratton Morehart added 2.5 tackles and an interception. 

For Webster Area, Carson Mount had 45 rushing yards, while Ian Lesnar passed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Brent Bearman hauled in 52 receiving yards and Tommy Vergeldt hauled in a touchdown pass. Bearman had 6.5 tackles and Tate Mammenga logged six tackles. The Bearcats managed just 43 rushing yards. 

 

Herreid/Selby Area 30, Lemmon/McIntosh 18 

LEMMON — Houston Hauge rushed for 182 yards on two touchdowns in a Friday high school football win. 

Wayde Grage passed for 47 yards and a passing touchdown, while rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown. Trevor Gill hauled in a touchdown reception. Gill logged 10 tackles on defense. Cole Zabel recorded nine tackles and an interception. Porter Gregg added 29 rushing yards and seven tackles. Mason Vetter rushed for 22 yards. 

For Lemmon/McIntosh, Sawyer Thompson threw two passing touchdowns to Blair Ham. Emmitt Maher added a 75-yard interception return for a score.

Parkston 54, Wolsey-Wessington 0 

WOLSEY — Class 9AA No. 1 Parkston blanked Class 9A No. 1 Wolsey-Wessington in a top-five matchup on Friday. The Trojans tallied 344 rushing yards. 

Parkston’s Kolter Kramer scored four rushing touchdowns and rushed for 131 yards on five carries. Kramer added an 80-yard fumble recovery for a score. Luke Bormann racked up 144 rushing yards on seven carries and scored a touchdown. Kaden Holzbauer and Brayden Jervik added rushing touchdowns. Carter Sommer passed for 55 yards and Bormann hauled in 31 receiving yards. Will Jodozi had a team-high eight tackles.


Wall 52, New Underwood 0 

WALL — Class 9AA No. 5 Wall used a balanced offensive attack to pick up a Friday high school football win over New Underwood. The Eagles passed for 148 yards and rushed for 140 yards.

Wall’s Burk Blasius completed 6 of 7 passes for 148 yards and threw two passing touchdowns. He added a rushing touchdown and returned a fumble for a score. William Volmer added 61 rushing yards and a score. Kaylen Spotted Bear scored a rushing touchdown. Younger Amiotte and Kale Crowser had interceptions on defense. Amiotte returned his for a touchdown. Tanner Volmer logged six tackles. 

For New Underwood, Jaxon Fulton passed for 51 yards and had five tackles.


Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 32, Clark/Willow Lake 7

CLARK — Class 11B No. 4 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan pulled past Clark/Willow Lake for a Friday high school football win.

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan’s Macklen Weber and Drake Gustafson each scored a pair of rushing touchdowns. Kean Stevenson added a five-yard rushing touchdown. 

 

Howard 28, Kimball/White Lake 0

KIMBALL — Class 9AA No. 3 Howard blanked Kimball/White Lake in Friday high school football action. 

KWL’s Blake Leiferman finished with 19 receiving yards and 15 tackles. Iden Myers added 51 rushing yards and 10 tackles. Lucas Lenz had three quarterback sacks.

Howard stats were not reported.

 

Faulkton Area 52, Potter County 8 

FAULKTON — Class 9B No. 1 Faulkton Area racked up 440 total yards en route to a Friday high school football win. The Trojans rushed for 308 yards. 

Faulkton Area’s Garrett Cramer rushed for 173 yards on nine carries and scored three touchdowns. Tristan Baloun, Spencer Melius and Landon Coyle added rushing touchdowns. Layne Cotton threw for 99 yards and a passing touchdown to Melius. Cotton added two interceptions on defense, while Melius also had a pick. Melius and Charlie Deiter had seven tackles on defense.

For Potter County, Landon Larson passed for 24 yards and threw three interceptions. Chance Smith rushed for 42 yards and Carter Luikens had 31 rushing yards. Smith added 13 receiving yards. Sage Hermann logged five tackles on defense.


Harding County/Bison 40, Faith 0

FAITH — Hayden Pihl tossed three touchdown passes as Class 9A No. 5 Harding County/Bison blanked Faith in Friday high school football action.

Pihl completed 9 of 13 passes for 220 yards and threw two passing touchdowns to Evan Meyer, who hauled in 96 receiving yards. Nayati Bickerdyke hauled in 67 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Braden Routier rushed for 79 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns. Brennan Glines added 24 rushing yards. Kaden Green and Lincoln Wickstrom posted nine tackles apiece. Payton Dvorak had an interception. 

For Faith, Cooper Schuelke rushed for 30 yards and Jackson Spencer added 23 rushing yards. Drew Harper passed for 21 yards and Caden Selby hauled in 16 yards receiving. Roy Antrim logged six tackles.


Hitchcock-Tulare 62, Iroquois/Lake Preston 8

LAKE PRESTON — Class 9B No.4 Hitchcock-Tulare used a balanced attack to earn a win over Iroquois/Lake Preston in high school football action Friday afternoon. 

Quarterback Brendan Nowell had an extremely efficient night completing six passes for 163 yards and five touchdown passes. Nowell also added 118 rushing yards that included a 93-yard rushing touchdown. He also scored on a 57-yard kickoff return. Erik Salmen finished with 48 yards rushing and a touchdown while grabbing four passes for 120 yards and three touchdowns. Payton Chasing Hawk added a 37-yard touchdown reception for Hitchcock-Tulare. 

AJ Wienk led Iroquois/Lake Preston with five catches for 56 yards. Rowdy Scheel led the defense with four tackles.


Warner 35, Ipswich 6

IPSWICH — Class 9A No. 2 Warner racked up 273 rushing yards en route to a Friday high school football win over Ipswich. 

Hunter Cramer racked up 102 rushing yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns. He also threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Brodey Sauerwein. Cramer completed 11 of 16 passes for 205 yards. Payton Volk added 91 rushing yards on 10 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Charlie Dulany had 10 tackles. 

For Ipswich, Max Kulesa completed 15 of 31 passes for 143 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Casey Geditz hauled in 95 receiving yards on receptions, while rushing for 47 yards. Geditz racked up 14 tackles, while Peterson and Kulesa had 12 tackles apiece. 


Dell Rapids 39, Belle Fourche 13

DELL RAPIDS — Class 11A No. 1 Dell Rapids picked up a Friday high school football win over Belle Fourche. The Quarriers recorded 278 total yards. 

Mason Stubbe finished with 73 rushing yards and one touchdown. Cole Ruesink added 35 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Ruesink had 38 receiving yards. Sutton Williams added a rushing score. Jack Henry threw for 39 yards, while Cooper Frost connected with Gabe Jones for a touchdown reception. Ryan Stubbe posted eight tackles and a sack.

For Belle Fourche, Riley Dighton had 47 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Broncs finished with 151 yards. 

 

Centerville 24, Irene-Wakonda 22

CENTERVILLE — Centerville built a 24-0 lead and held off Irene-Wakonda for a Friday high school football win. 

Centerville’s James Buckneberg rushed for 133 yards on 15 carries. Alec Austin added 67 yards passing and threw two passing touchdowns. Noah Schoenfelder hauled in two touchdown receptions, while Miles Eide caught a passing touchdown. Austin logged five tackles and Charlie Eide had an interception.


Aberdeen Roncalli 35, Redfield 0

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen Roncalli blanked Redfield in Friday high school football action. 

Roncalli’s Zane Backous passed for 216 yards and three passing touchdowns, while rushing for one touchdown. He added three sacks on defense. 

Aiden Fisher logged 137 receptions and yards and hauled in three touchdowns, while rushing for 34 rushing yards. 


Milbank 37, Madison 34 (OT)

MADISON — An overtime 20-yard field goal from Moises Luna helped Milbank pick up a road win over Madison in high school football action Friday.

Milbank quarterback Garrett Mertens completed 11 passes for 157 yards and three touchdowns. 

Emmett Hanson hauled in two of those touchdown passes while Esteban Abrego caught the other. Tate Schlueter rushed for 132 yards and caught five passes for 76 yards. 

Madison quarterback Ben Brooks completed 19 passes for 309 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Shane Veenhof caught nine passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns while Cale Johnson caught three passes for 65 yards and a touchdown. 


Pierre 49, Brookings 0 

PIERRE — Class 11AA No. 1 Pierre blanked Brookings in a Friday high school football game. 

Cade Kaiser led the Governors with three passing touchdowns, all to Jett Zabel. Brock Moser scored two rushing touchdowns. Spencer Easland had two interceptions, while Carson Stoeser returned an interception for a score. Trey Lewis scored on a punt return. 


Tea Area 28, Aberdeen Central 7

TEA — A pair of fourth quarter touchdowns helped Tea Area pull away for a win over Aberdeen Central in high school football action Friday night.

The Titans were masters of the ground game Friday with Keegan DeYoung and Brenner Konrad combining for 291 yards on the ground. Konrad finished with two rushing scores as the Titans rolled up 439 yards on the ground Friday. Carter Turek had four tackles and 1.5 sacks to lead the defense. 

Aberdeen Central quarterback Parker Lemer completed five passes for 125 yards and a touchdown pass to Cooper Eisenbiesz who scored on a 98-yard pass play. 


Hot Springs 61, Lakota Tech 6

PINE RIDGE — Class 11B No. 5 Hot Springs defeated Lakota Tech in Friday high school football action. 

For Lakota Tech, Riley Casey completed 10 of 13 passes for 132 yards and one touchdown. Julian Tonche hauled in 80 receiving yards, while Gilbert White Jr., caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Casey. Defensively, Ethan Steele had six tackles and rushed for 42 yards. 

Hot Springs stats were not reported. 


Sully Buttes 62, Sunshine Bible Academy 32

MILLER — Sully Buttes rolled up 487 yards of total offense in a Friday high school football win. 

Gavin Barber led the Chargers with 300 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 14 carries. He added 58 receiving yards and a touchdown reception, while he had an interception and a fumble recovery on defense. Lucas Arcoren rushed for a touchdown and Trever Marshall hauled in a touchdown catch. 

For SBA, Troy Paul rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Dominic Kalancinski had 41 rushing yards and a score. Jimmy Burma racked up 243 receiving yards and a touchdown catch. Anthony Mitchell hauled in 42 receiving yards and a touchdown reception. Tarrence Mickelson had six tackles and an interception.
