Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central 36, Miller/Highmore-Harrold 0

WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central racked up 352 total yards and blanked Miller/Highmore-Harrold in a Friday high school football game. The Blackhawks rushed for 191 yards and threw for 161 yards in the win. 

Holden Havlik completed 9 of 16 passes for 161 yards and two passing touchdowns. He added 15 rushing yards and another score. Brady Larson rushed for 85 yards on 12 carries and scored a touchdown. Camden Jost logged 79 rushing yards and a touchdown. Larson and Blake Larson recorded 56 and 55 receiving yards, respectively. Blake Larson also had a touchdown reception. Defensively, Tyson Eddy had 4.5 tackles and Blake Larson had an interception. 

The Rustlers finished with 42 total yards. Trey Knox threw for 34 yards, while Gunner Brueggeman had 26 rushing yards. Gunner Brueggeman added 15 receiving yards and 10.5 tackles. 


Elkton-Lake Benton 38, Canistota 30

CANISTOTA — Ryan Krog’s 55-yard touchdown pass to Riddick Westley broke a 30-30 fourth-quarter tie and lifted Elkton-Lake Benton to a Friday high school football win over Class 9A No. 4 Canistota. The Elks finished with 387 total yards, including 318 passing yards. 

Krog completed 9 of 12 passes for 318 yards and four passing touchdowns, while he had 45 rushing yards and another score. Krog added 11 tackles on defense. Tanner Stein hauled in 252 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. Blake DeVries racked up 12 tackles and Quinn Poindexter added an interception.

Canistota posted 374 total yards, including 334 rushing yards. Noah Kleinsasser rushed for 190 yards on 25 carries and scored two touchdowns. Tage Ortman added 61 rushing yards on 14 carries and two rushing touchdowns. Ortman added 43 passing yards. Levi Schroeder added 31 receiving yards. Kleinsasser posted 6.5 tackles. 

Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan 36, Sioux Valley 32

VOLGA — Class 11B No. 2 Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan outlasted Sioux Valley in a Friday high school football contest. The Seahawks recorded 245 rushing yards on 48 carries in the win. 

BEE’s Macklen Weber finished with 114 rushing yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns. Sutton Arend and Riley Endres added 57 and 54 rushing yards, respectively. Arend had a rushing touchdown and Endres added an 80-yard kickoff return for a score. Weber threw for 12 yards and Aguer Van Sickle had nine receiving yards. Defensively, Drake Gustafson logged 14 tackles. 

Sioux Valley posted 280 rushing yards on 40 carries. Donovan Rose rushed for 152 yards on seven carries and scored two rushing touchdowns, while he added an 89-yard kickoff return for a score. Boden Schiller added 75 rushing yards on 10 carries. Lane Liebsch and Jace Christensen added rushing touchdowns. Christensen threw for 10 yards and Schiller hauled in 10 receiving yards. Schiller posted 11 tackles on defense. 


Herreid/Selby Area 44, Ipswich 26

IPSWICH — Brenden Begeman’s big performance sent Class 9B No.1 Herreid/Selby Area past Ipswich in a high school football game on Friday.

Begeman recorded 287 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries. Tray Hettick went 11-of-13 passing for 158 yards and three touchdown passes. Trevor Gill had seven receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns, while Darion Barker added 49 yards receiving and one touchdown. Barker also added nine tackles on defense, while Nathan Bradford led with 11 tackles. Cole Zabel recorded eight tackles.

Ipswich’s Ian Beyers passed for 225 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 99 yards and two touchdowns. Trevor Heinz led with 97 receiving yards, while Colby Sylte had 85 yards receiving and one rushing touchdown. Chet Peterson added 58 yards receiving and one touchdown. Tyler Hettich led with 11 tackles on defense.


Centerville 60, Gayville-Volin 22

CENTERVILLE — Centerville raced past Gayville-Volin for a high school football win on Friday.

Centerville’s Lane Johnson rushed for 103 yards and one touchdown, while Cole Edberg added 60 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Noah Schoenfelder tallied three touchdowns, while Covin Wattier recorded two touchdown receptions.

Gayville-Volin stats were not reported. 


Alcester-Hudson 38, Chester Area 27

CHESTER — Alcester-Hudson posted 436 total yards and picked up a Friday high school football win over Chester Area. The Cubs recorded 321 rushing yards and 115 passing yards. 

Alcester-Hudson’s Mateo Kleinhans threw for 115 yards and two passing touchdowns. Evan Brown amassed 146 rushing yards on 22 carries and scored two touchdowns. Jose Lopez logged 79 rushing yards and one touchdown. Owen Bovill had 56 receiving yards and Ethan Bovill caught a 15-yard touchdown reception. Kleinhans had 4.5 tackles on defense.

Chester Area’s Layke Wold threw for 133 yards and had a passing touchdown. Jovi Wolf added 88 passing yards and threw a pair of touchdowns. Wolf had 69 rushing yards, while Wold had 24 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Max McGreevy, Brayden Schut and Zach Moyer all had touchdown receptions. Wolf had 68 receiving yards and an interception on defense. Garret Hansen had 10.5 tackles on defense. 


Gregory 46, Irene-Wakonda 11

GREGORY — Rylan Peck scored five total touchdowns to pace Class 9A No. 1 Gregory to a Friday high school football win. 

Peck rushed for 138 yards and had three scores, while he threw for 84 yards and had two more touchdowns. Trey Murray hauled in 65 receiving yards and two touchdown receptions. Gannon Thomas added a rushing touchdown. Eli Fogel recorded two sacks and Thomas intercepted a pass. 

Irene-Wakonda’s Chase Dahlerup threw for 185 yards and connected with Miles Pollman for a touchdown reception. Pollman finished with 115 receiving yards on four catches. Dahlerup nailed a 29-yard field goal. Pollman logged six tackles. 


Florence/Henry 50, Waverly-South Shore 30

WAVERLY — Florence-Henry scored 28 points in the fourth quarter to put away Waverly/South Shore in Friday high school football action. The Falcons logged 124 rushing yards and 161 passing yards. 

Florence-Henry’s Tegan Sumner completed 8 of 15 passes for 140 yards and threw two passing touchdowns, while he had a rushing touchdown. Mehki Keller added 68 rushing yards, 59 receiving yards and 21 passing yards. He threw a passing touchdown, hauled in a touchdown reception and scored one on the ground. Karter Kohlenberg had two rushing touchdowns and had 43 rushing yards. Clay Trupe posted 35 receiving yards. Clay Trupe had 13 tackles and a sack. Kohlenberg had two interceptions, while Sumner and Keller each had interceptions. 

WSS’s Troy Kneeland completed 13 of 31 passes for 162 yards and threw three passing touchdowns. He also rushed for a touchdown. Owen Gilmour rushed for 56 yards on seven carries, while Cody Thompson had 98 receiving yards. Thompson, Ries and Gavin Meadors hauled in touchdown receptions. 


Sioux Falls Christian 34, Madison 28

MADISON — Sioux Falls Christian held off Madison for a high school football win on Friday.

SFC’s Tayton Snyder passed for 322 yards and two touchdowns, while Brayden Witte rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown. Carter VanDonge caught eight passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns, while James Woodward added a touchdown run. Sioux Falls Christian totaled 410 yards of offense.

Madison’s Ben Brooks passed for 149 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 120 yards on 38 carries and three touchdowns. Shane Veenhof tallied nine catches for 98 yards and two touchdowns. 


Howard 51, Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy 0

HOWARD — Class 9AA No. 1 Howard erupted for 528 total yards and blanked Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy in Friday high school football action. The Tigers rushed for 389 yards on 29 carries, while they threw for 139 yards. 

Howard’s Taiden Hoyer completed 8 of 14 passes for 139 yards and had two passing touchdowns. Hoyer added 74 rushing yards. Karsyn Feldhaus added 159 rushing yards on nine carries and scored two touchdowns. Griffin Clubb, Karsten Hamilton, Tate Miller and Nolan Mentele each had rushing touchdowns. Atticus Darnell added 68 receiving yards and had a touchdown reception. Luke Koepsell caught a touchdown. Kaden Hofer and Feldhaus each had five tackles. Clubb added an interception. 

For Freeman/Marion/Freeman Academy, Riley Tschetter threw for 112 yards. Dominic Sperling rushed for 14 yards, while Maddox Kihne recorded 52 receiving yards. Rocky Ammann tallied 6.5 tackles. 


Wall 50, White River 0

WHITE RIVER — Class 9AA No. 2 Wall racked up 298 total yards and blanked White River in a Friday high school football action. The Eagles finished with 170 rushing yards and 128 passing yards. 

Wall’s Burk Blasius completed 5 of 5 passes for 115 yards and three passing touchdowns. Mason Heath rushed for 60 yards and scored a rushing touchdown. Cedar Amiotte added 53 rushing yards and a touchdown. Stran Williams, Blair Blasius, Levi Sharp and Amiotte scored touchdowns through the air. William Volmer logged 3.5 tackles, while Amiotte intercepted two passes on defense. 

The Tigers finished with 22 total yards. Gavin Folkers threw for 40 yards and Teagen Bouman had 19 rushing yards. Evastine Wright had 17 receiving yards. Ryatt Wooden Knife posted two tackles. 


Bon Homme 43, Stanley County 7

TYNDALL — Riley Rothschadl had a hand in five touchdowns to power Bon Homme to a Friday high school football win over Stanley County. 

Rothschadl scored on a kickoff return, a punt return, two rushing touchdowns and threw a touchdown strike to Logan Winckler. Chapin Cooper blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown. Jackson Caba had nine tackles and a sack on defense. 

Stanley County stats were unavailable. 

Corsica-Stickney 50, Burke 26

CORSICA — Corsica-Stickney racked up 493 total yards and pulled away from Burke for a Friday high school football win. The Jaguars rushed for 368 yards on 49 carries. 

Waylon Bolle led the Jaguars with 210 rushing yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns. Bolle added 124 receiving yards and hauled in two touchdown receptions. Carter Wright added 120 rushing yards on 18 carries and scored two scores. Shad Bosma completed 6 of 9 passes for 125 yards and threw two touchdown passes. Wright and Brock Hinker intercepted passes on defense. 

Burke logged 369 yards, including 213 passing yards. Reed Benter completed 11 of 21 passes for 193 yards. Gentry Bartling rushed for 59 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns. Benter added 43 rushing yards on 12 carries and a touchdown. Ira Burroughs had 89 receiving yards on four catches. Sawyer Tietgen had 2.5 tackles on defense.

 

Aberdeen Roncalli 56, Mobridge-Pollock 6

ABERDEEN — Aberdeen Roncalli rolled to a Friday high school football win over Mobridge-Pollock. The Cavaliers rushed for 335 yards to power the win. 

Jackson Isakson rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns, while Maddox May had 100 rushing  yards and two touchdowns. Abe Kretchman logged 51 rushing yards and two touchdowns.


Dakota Valley 33, Milbank 6

MILBANK — Class 11A No. 5 Dakota Valley totaled 410 yards of offense as they picked up a high school football win over Milbank on Friday.

Dakota Valley’s Ethan Anema passed for 179 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for a touchdown. Jackson Boonstra added a rushing touchdown, while Drew Lukken passed for 94 yards and one touchdown.

Milbank’s Garrett Mertens passed for 122 yards, while Aidan Foell rushed for 88 yards. Barrett Schneck added 49 yards rushing and one touchdown. Eli Johnson recorded 84 yards receiving. 


Deubrook Area 16, Iroquois/Lake Preston 12

LAKE PRESTON — Deubrook Area outlasted Iroquois/Lake Preston for a high school football win on Friday.

Deubrook Area’s Jace Vomacka passed for 94 yards and one touchdown, while also rushing for 25 yards. Jacob Jorenby tallied 53 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Colin Bauman added a rushing touchdown and 9.5 tackles on defense. Devon Landmark recorded eight tackles, while Conner Andrews added 7.5 tackles.

I/LP’s Haydon Shurson rushed for 167 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns. Jake Larson had seven tackles on defense.  


Estelline/Hendricks 47, Colman-Egan 14

ESTELLINE — Mattix Hausman recorded 219 yards of total offense to lead Estelline/Hendricks to a high school football win over Colman-Egan on Friday.

Hausman passed for 111 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 108 yards and three touchdowns. Braxton Saathoff rushed for 54 yards and one touchdown, while Joseph McAninch tallied 48 rushing yards and a score. Jon Nefzger added a receiving touchdown. 

CE’s Logan Voelker rushed for 159 yards and one touchdown.


Dell Rapids St. Mary 44, Arlington 20

ARLINGTON — Dell Rapids St. Mary picked up a high school football win over Arlington on Friday.

DRSM’s Nic Gaspar tallied 91 rushing yards and one touchdown, while also adding one receiving touchdown. Tate Bunkers rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns. C.J. Smith logged one rushing and one passing touchdown. Gabriel Lindemann recorded nine tackles on defense.

Arlington’s Brecken Vossler rushed for 119 yards on nine carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Caden Murphy had an 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown, while adding seven tackles, defensively.


Harding County/Bison 54, Newell 0

BISON — Harding County/Bison raced past Newell for a high school football win on Friday.

HC/B was led by Rylee Veal, who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, while Braden Routier and Dawson Kautzman each added one rushing touchdown. Kelby Hett passed for 88 yards and two touchdown passes, while Hayden Pihl added 76 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Brennan Glines led with 67 receiving yards and one touchdown, while Kaden Green, Evan Meyer, and Gage Gilbert each had one receiving touchdown. Kohl Risty added an interception on defense.

Newell’s Chase Johnson rushed for 77 yards, while James Duncan passed for 33 yards and one interception.


Castlewood 50, North Central 7

EUREKA — Lane Tvedt had a hand in four total touchdowns to power Castlewood to a Friday high school football win over North Central.

Tvedt threw for 65 yards and two passing touchdowns, while he rushed for 56 yards and two more scores. Camron Eng added 62 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jeremiah Wiersma added a rushing touchdown. Carson Kirwan and Booker Schooley had touchdown receptions. Joe Decker had six tackles and Eng had an interception on defense. 

North Central’s Beau Schilling threw for 67 yards and Landon Wolf rushed for 30 yards. Beau Schilling scored a rushing touchdown. Cole Bukaske had 39 receiving yards. Jade Jacobs had four tackles, while Beau Schilling had an interception on defense. 


Jim River 31, Baltic 6

BALTIC — Ajay Herrboldt rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns to pace Jim River to a Friday high school football win over Baltic. The Trappers finished with 307 rushing yards on 55 carries.

Logan Sayler added 115 rushing yards on 27 carries and Kadeyn Ulmer added a rushing touchdown. Tyrus Bietz logged 6.5 tackles on defense and Herrboldt added five tackles. 

Baltic recorded 104 total yards, including 82 passing yards. Tate Feucht logged 82 passing yards, while Isaac Weeman had 20 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Ben Erickson logged 38 receiving yards. Clay Lardy posted 7.5 tackles, while Jarett Iverson had one interception. 


Deuel 27, Groton Area 0

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel piled up 262 rushing yards on 48 carries en route to a shutout win over Groton Area on Friday. 

Deuel’s Owen Quail logged 107 rushing yards on 26 carries and scored two rushing touchdowns. Trey Maaland added 82 rushing yards on 17 carries and threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Carver Nothem. Dominic Constant added a 69-yard touchdown run. Gavin Benck hauled in 25 receiving yards. Constant had eight tackles and a sack. 

Groton Area’s Andrew Marzahn rushed for 31 yards on 14 carries. Lane Tietz threw for 113 passing yards and Tate Larson hauled in 56 receiving yards. 


Great Plains Lutheran 42, Sunshine Bible Academy 7

MILLER — Great Plains Lutheran picked up a high school football win over Sunshine Bible Academy on Friday.

GPL’s Brody Scharlemann passed for 101 yards and one touchdown, while adding 70 yards rushing. Thomas Erickson rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown, while adding a touchdown pass. Jacob Bartels and Hayden Karli each had one touchdown reception, while Micah Holien had one rushing touchdown and an interception return for a score. Kowynn Muhl added a fumble recovery for a touchdown. 

SBA’s Nolan Triebwasser passed for 42 yards and one touchdown, while Daniel Gerbracht added 40 yards receiving and one touchdown. Triebwasser also added 13 tackles and a fumble recovery on defense. 


Tea Area 42, Douglas 0

BOX ELDER — Class 11AA No. 2 Tea Area racked up 400 yards of total offense as the Titans defeated Douglas in a high school football game on Friday.

Tea Area’s Maddix Slykhuis passed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 34 yards and one score. Blake Thompson rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown, while also passing for 55 yards and one touchdown. Thompson also added a receiving touchdown. Keegan DeYoung added 61 rushing yards, while Parker Mulder added a receiving touchdown.

Douglas was led by Aiden Russell with 58 yards passing. The Patriots totaled 40 yards of offense.
