EUGENE, Oregon — Simeon Birnbaum is getting comfortable at his future college track and field home.

The recent Rapid City Stevens graduate and future Oregon Duck won the boys one-mile run garmin championship at Sunday’s Nike Outdoor Nationals, clocking in at 4:02.22. The competition is being held at University of Oregon’s Hayward Field.  

Earlier in the meet, Birnbaum placed third in the men’s 1,500-meter professional run in 3:37.93, finishing just behind Matt Wisner (3:36.87) and Connor Mantz (3:37.92). 

On Sunday, the Sioux Falls Christian boys placed eighth in the boys 400-meter relay in :42.84 seconds.
