Sioux Falls Lincoln’s J.T. Rock has committed to Iowa State University. The junior tweeted his commitment to the Cyclones on Wednesday.

A 7-foot-1, 225-pounder, Rock is a four-star center that also had scholarship offers from Iowa, Purdue, Creighton, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Dakota State and Kansas. 


Rock is the No. 60 player in the 2024 class, according to 247Sports Composite. He is listed as a four-star recruit and the No. 10 center nationally.

At Iowa State, Rock will play for T.J Otzelberger, the former head coach at South Dakota State. 

This season, Rock is averaging 19.6 points, 8.3 rebounds and 7.3 blocks per game. He nearly logged a triple-double on Dec. 13 against Harrisburg, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots. He’s coming off a 24 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots against Sioux Falls Jefferson on Dec. 20. 

Last season, Rock averaged 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. 

The Class AA No. 3 Patriots (2-1) will host Class AA No. 2 Pierre (5-0) on Thursday.
