BALTIC — The Sioux Valley boys won the Big East Conference track and field title on Thursday. The Cossacks racked up 172.5 points, ahead of Baltic (121) and Chester (115). Beresford (105) and Garretson (58) rounded out the top five teams.

The Sioux Valley girls scored 132 points, ahead of Chester (115) and Flandreau (110). Baltic (99) and Parker (90) were the top five girls teams at Thursday’s meet. 

Sioux Valley’s Donovan Rose won the 100-meter dash (:11.14), 110-meter hurdles (:15.40) and the 300-meter hurdles (:43.85) and finished third in the 200-meter dash (:22.90). Skyler Trygstad won the 1,600-meter run (4:47.73) and the 3,200-meter run (10:36.81). The Sioux Valley boys also captured the 3,200-meter relay (8:35.53) and sprint medley relay (3:48.12). Mitchell Guthmiller anchored that 3,200-meter relay, won the high jump (6-1), and anchored the winning 1,600-meter relay (3:34.44)

Beresford’s Andrew Atwood won the 400-meter dash (:50.15) and 800-meter run (1:58.74).

Chester’s Jovi Wolf finished second in the 100-meter dash (:11.52), won the 200-meter dash (:22.87), finished fourth in the 400-meter dash (:52.99) and won the long jump (20-10.5). Chester’s JD Prorok won the javelin (152-11).

McCook Central Montrose’s Paul Kaffar won the triple jump (41-11.25), finished second in the long jump (20-3.5) and anchored the 400-meter relay to a win (:46.61)

In girls action Sioux Valley’s Isabelle Bloker finished third in the 800-meter run (2:21.97) and teamed with Adison Renkly, Abby Haaland and Talya Vincent to win the sprint medley relay (4:20.97). The Cossacks did well in the field events with Summer Guthmiller winning the discus (112-7), Tia Glaus the javelin (99-0) and Emma Gorvin in the high jump (4-11). 

Parker’s Braelyn Berens won the 100-meter dash (:12.63) and 200-meter dash (:26.28) and anchored the winning 400-meter relay (:51.58) and 800-meter relay (1:49.24). 

Flandreau’s Faith Wiese won the 400-meter dash (1:01.16) and 800-meter run (2:19.83) and ran the opening leg on the winning 1,600-meter relay (4:18.68). 

Chester’s Jacy Wolf won the 300-meter hurdles (:49.87), finished second in the 100-meter hurdles (:16.51), anchored the second place 400-meter relay (:53.79) and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (:27.59). Emery Larson won the 1,600-meter run (5:07.24) and finished second in the 800-meter run (2:20.05) and won the 3,200-meter run (11:25.86)
