White River's Ethan Watson among multiple-event winners at Todd County Invitational

MISSION — White River’s Ethan Watson captured a pair of titles at Friday’s Todd County Invitational. 

Watson won the shot put (55-10.5) and discus (148-10.5). 

Jones County’s Asa Best was also double winner in the 200-meter dash (:24.51) and long jump (19-10). 

Stanley County’s Brendon Bothwell captured a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash (:54.55) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (:24.75). Bothwell also ran the anchor leg on Stanley County’s winning 800-meter relay (1:38.28), teaming up with Paxton Deal, Colton Brady and Landon Bame. 

Todd County’s Ty Valandra won the 100-meter dash (:11.91) and placed third in the 200-meter dash (:24.98). Valandra also ran the anchor leg on the Falcons’ winning 400-meter relay (:46.99), teaming up with Talan Iyotte, Jayce Allen and Chris Ellert. 

The Jones County boys won the 1,600-meter relay (3:52.35), 3,200-meter relay (9:16.41) and sprint medley relay (3:58.743). 

In girls action, Jones County’s BreAna Aske won the 400-meter dash (1:03.25) the 800-meter run (2:42.38) and the long jump (14-10)

Winner’s Keelie Kuil won the 100-meter dash (:13.41) the 200-meter dash (:27.56) and ran the anchor leg on Winner’s winning 400-meter relay team (:53.03). 

The Todd County girls swept the distance events with Elizabeth Moore claiming the 1,600-meter run (6:35.59) and Alexis Red Bird the 3,200-meter run (14:03.33). Red Bird teamed with Cadence Amiotte, Marisela Herman and Amaya Martinez to win the 3,200-meter relay (15:15.95).

In the girls team race, Todd County (168) was the team championship. Jones County (87) and Winner (86) placed second and third, respectively.

In the boys team race, Stanley County edged Jones County, 103-101. Todd County (96) placed third.
