RAPID CITY — The Pierre girls advanced five athletes to Friday’s semifinals and lead the girls state wrestling tournament after day one action at the Monument in Rapid City. 

The Governor girls have 59.5 points, ahead of Spearfish (41) and Watertown (40). Canton (37.5) and Harrisburg

(37) round out the top five teams.

Dani Ringstmeyer (126), Lexie Hillmer (132), Kezrey Benning (138), Ireland Templeton (145) and Abbigail Lewis (152) are the five Pierre athletes to reach the semifinal round. 

Spearfish only qualified five girls to the state tournament but three of those athletes reached the semifinals. Haven Baker (106), Candice Matsuda (126) and Marlee Heltzel (185) are still alive in the championship bracket. 

Watertown athletes Olivia Anderson (107), Brooklyn Randall (114), Allison Konrad (185) and Eden Hach each reached Friday’s semifinal round.
