RAPID CITY — Enna Henry recorded her 2,000 career assist as St. Thomas More swept Hot Springs in Thursday volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-19. 


Freeman 2, Parker/Marion 1

ALEXANDRIA — Freeman outlasted Parker/Marion in the championship match of the Hanson Early Bird tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 23-25, 25-22 and 26-24.

Freeman’s Vaida Ammann finished with seven kills, 10 assists and 21 digs. Sami Fransen had 14 assists, 11 digs and four aces. Libby Ammann totaled 15 digs, while Rylee Peters tallied nine kills and 11 digs. Cadence Hofer posted five kills, 10 digs and two aces.

For PM, Maliyah Nankivel totaled eight kills and three blocks. Lanae Waldner tallied six kills, five blocks and two digs. Kallie Johnson recorded 20 digs and two kills. Hannah Schaeffer recorded 17 assists and six digs. Mara Mohr had nine assists and five digs. Braelyn Berens had 22 digs. Kyla Fosheim had four kills. 


Wessington Springs 2, Avon 0 

ALEXANDRIA — Wessington Springs swept Avon for third place at the Hanson Early Bird tournament on Thursday. The set scores were 25-21 and 27-25.

Wessington Springs’ Kaitlyn Bravo had eight kills and four blocks. Kerstyn Heim had six kills and 17 digs. Remie Roduner had 33 digs. Kenzie Kolousek added 10 digs and four aces. Logan Menning finished with 21 assists and 15 digs. 

For Avon, Rilyn Thury finished with 11 kills and 17 digs. Jordyn Voigt totaled 32 digs. Brielle Voigt had 18 assists and 10 digs. Breanna Hento had five kills, three blocks and 13 digs. Kaydence Metzger had three kills and seven digs. Lexi Vanderlei posted 11 digs. 


Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 2, Hanson 1

ALEXANDRIA — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket topped Hanson for fifth place at Thursday’s Hanson Early Bird tournament. The set scores were 16-25, 25-19 and 25-21.

SCW’s Liz Boschee finished with 12 kills, three blocks and two digs. Hudson Fouberg added 10 kills, while Addison Bartholow posted seven kills and seven digs.

For Hanson, Ava Doyle finished with 17 kills and eight digs. Brooke Endorf had 13 assists and nine digs. Taryn Holm finished with 11 digs and three aces. Claire Bridge totaled nine digs. 


Platte-Geddes 2, Andes Central/Dakota Christian 0 

ALEXANDRIA — Platte-Geddes swept Andes Central/Dakota Christian to take seventh place at the Hanson Early Bird tournament. The set scores were 25-17 and 25-18.

PG’s Kori Vanderwerf tallied seven kills, 11 digs and two aces, Jerni Severson had four kills and two aces, Ava Olson added three kills, Kolbi Hoffman recorded 13 assists, Taylor Shrank had six digs while Mallroy Gant added five digs as well.

For ACDC, Taylor Brooks and Cami Ronfeldt each had one kill, Lily Muckey tallied two digs while Madeline Waetermans recorded five digs in the loss.


Miller 3, Winner 2

WINNER — Class A No. 4 Miller outlasted Winner in a five-set thriller in Thursday high school volleyball action. 

Miller’s Kate Lichty finished with 14 kills and three blocks. Paige Werdel added 12 kills and three aces. Jolie Palmer posted 33 digs and two aces. Emma Pugh posted 22 digs and two assists. Gracen Werdel had two blocks. 

For Winner, Livvy Audiss recorded 10 kills and four aces. Lilly Barfuss finished with nine kills. Gracie Root recorded 25 assists and 33 digs. Payton Sargent totaled 20 digs and two blocks. Alice Wilson finished with three aces. 


Madison 3, Flandreau 0

MADISON — Madison swept Flandreau in high school volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-8, 25-16 and 25-16.

Madison’s Jaya Engels had eight kills and three aces, Lydia Nelson recorded eight kills and five blocks, Mara Klingbile added four aces and two digs, while Karley Theede had 23 assists in the win.

For Flandreau, Addy Hammer had five kills, Aly Schepel totaled four kills, four assists and one block while Nora Hamilton added 11 assists in the loss.


Clark/Willow Lake 3, Sioux Valley 2

VOLGA — Clark/Willow Lake edged Sioux Valley in a five-set thriller on Thursday. The set scores were 19-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-19 and 16-14.

CWL’s Shelby Begeman had 19 kills, Eliza Larson added eight kills, Ella Sass recorded eight kills while Kelsey Hofer totaled six kills. Zoe Nichols led the Cyclones with 34 assists as well.

For SV, Emma Gorvin tallied 14 kills, Lacey Langland had 10 kills, McKinley Schwab totaled 17 assists while Cameron Uecker added 14 assists in the loss.


Brookings 3, Hamlin 2

HAYTI — Brookings clipped Class A No. 5 Hamlin in a five-set thriller Thursday. The set scores were 20-25, 25-23, 15-25, 25-23 and 15-10.

Brookings’ stats were not reported.

For Hamlin, Addie Neuendorf had 18 kills and 22 digs, Jade Thue had nine kills, Addie Jensen recorded eight kills and one block, Issie Steffensen had 40 assists, while Paxton Neuendorf added 20 digs in the loss. Jayce Trowbridge also had four aces in the loss.


Baltic 3, Colman-Egan 1

COLMAN — Baltic clipped Colman-Egan in four sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-18, 25-22, 20-25 and 25-23.

CE’s Finley Luze had 27 assists and 13 digs, Brynlee Landis added 18 kills, 17 digs and two aces, Caelee LeBrun recorded 11 kills and 13 digs, Mauryn Landis had nine digs while Hailey Voelker added eight digs in the loss.

CENTERVILLE — Centerville swept Menno in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-13, 25-13, and 25-21.

Lillee Schearer had 11 kills, nine digs and three aces, Izzie Eide tallied five kills, Tessa Eide recorded 18 digs, Haley Childress added 14 assists and four digs while Ashlyn Hagena added four kills and two blocks in the win.

For Menno, Kylie Guthmiller led with five kills, nine assists and 10 digs, Lexie McNinch recorded 17 digs, 16 assists, five blocks and two kills while Ashlynn Fergen added 12 assists and five digs in the loss. Madison Schaeffer added four kills and three blocks as well.


Ipswich 3, Highmore-Harrold 0

IPSWICH — Ipswich swept Highmore-Harrold in straight sets during Thursday’s volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-6 and 25-21.

Marley Gutmiller recorded nine kills, Jalyssa Hutson had eight kills and three blocks, Natalie Crissman added four kills, Brianna Geditz added 12 digs, five aces and five assists while Josie Knutson recorded seven aces and 19 assists in the win.

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Class A No. 3 Dakota Valley swept Yankton in straight sets during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-10, 25-8 and 25-7.

Claire Munch led the Panthers with 13 kills, 12 digs, four aces and two blocks, Sammmy Kimball added seven kills, Aubrey Worden had five kills and three blocks, Corine Kimball netted 12 digs and three aces while Maddie Munch recorded 28 assists, six digs and four aces in the win.

For Yankton, Elli Drotzman had three kills, Jordyn Kudera added five digs while Burkley Olson and Nora Schramm each had two kills in the loss.


Webster Area 3, Deuel 0

CLEAR LAKE — Webster Area swept Deuel in straight sets during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-14, 25-19 and 25-17.

WA’s Mallory Steiner had six kills and three blocks, Jaden Lorensberg tallied six kills, three assists and three aces, Madison Block tallied five kills, 12 digs and three aces, Chloe Mammenga added 18 assists and nine digs while Kelsey Braun dropped in four aces in the win.

For Deuel, Lauryn Peterreins had five kills, Camdyn Peterreins tallied four kills and 10 digs, Kamryn Kreger had three kills while Ella Kerkvliet led the Cardinals with 19 digs in the loss. Braylin Kreger also totaled six assists and an ace.


Bon Homme 3, Viborg-Hurley 0

VIBORG — Bon Homme swept Viborg-Hurley during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 25-13.

Taycee Ranek had 17 kills and 14 digs for the Cavaliers, Emma Balvin added six kills, four digs and two aces, Sadie Knoll and Danni Kotalik each had four kills, Jersie Schonebaum recorded 33 assists, seven digs and three kills while Olivia Kaul also had three kills in the win.

For VH, Olivia Hanson tallied seven kills and three aces, Presley Skonhovd added three kills and three aces, Lexie Wetering totaled 14 assists while Isabella Voog added 13 digs in the loss.

BOWDLE — North Central swept Gettysburg during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-12, 25-15, and 25-15.

Amree Vander Vorst had 17 kills and 13 digs, Ella Batie tallied seven kills and two blocks, Camryn Witlock added 19 assists, Ashton Heyne netted nine assists and six aces while Alaina Dosch and Linsey Geier each had 10 digs in the win.

For Gettysburg, Brynlie Ahlemeier led the Battlers with three kills and three blocks, Finlee Heien added six assists while Taylor Long totaled 14 digs and an ace in the loss.


De Smet 3, Deubrook Area 0

WHITE — De Smet swept Deubrook Area in high school volleyball action Thursday. The set scores were 25-20, 25-17 and 25-21.

De Smet’s Hazel Luethmers had 18 kills, eight blocks and an ace, Ivey Schoenfelder added 11 kills, Charlie McCune recorded seven kills, Brooke Jennings netted eight kills, 14 digs and five blocks, Megan Dylla totaled 46 assists, Aubree Blue had 17 digs and an ace while Harper Anderson added eight digs in the win.

For DA, Chloe Haines had nine kills and four blocks, Brynlee Hanson tallied four kills and two blocks, Kylee Johnson added three kills, eight assists and 10 digs, Makenna Ekern recorded 10 assists, while Neely Gustad totaled 13 digs in the loss.

CANTON — Canton defeated Canistota in four sets during Thursday’s high school volleyball action. The set scores were 25-19, 21-25, 25-18 and 25-22.
