BRANDON — On the strength of six region champions and 11 state qualifiers the Brandon Valley wrestlers garnered top honors at Friday’s Region 2A tournament.

The Lynx scored 235 points, ahead of Harrisburg (219.5) and Sioux Falls Lincoln (181). Sioux Falls Washington (125) and Yankton (116) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Beckett Rehorst (106), Brendon Oehme (113), Trevon Oehme (120), Braden Shoemaker (126), Elijah Schunke (190) and Navarro Schunke (285) all claimed region titles for Brandon Valley. 

Other region titles were claimed by Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Bentley Williams, Lennox’s Ramsey Williams (138), Dakota Valley’s Jackson Boonstra (144), Sioux Falls Lincoln’s Dawson Wallen (150), Vermillion’s Michael Roob (157), Harrisburg’s Logan O’Connor (165), Sioux Falls Washington’s Lane Knutson (175) and Vermillion’s Rollie French.
