Burke girls coast to team title at Meet of Legends track and field meet

BURKE — The Burke girls and Winner boys coasted to team titles at Tuesday’s Meet of Legends track and field meet. 

The Burke girls piled up 328 points, finishing well ahead of Chamberlain (121) and Winner (120). The Winner boys tallied 230 points, finishing ahead of Gregory (166) and Platte-Geddes (146). 

In girls action, Burke’s Daytona Paris won the 100-meter hurdles (:17.16), the triple jump (32-10.5) and placed third in the 300-meter hurdles (:52.59). Burke’s Addi Hood won the 300-meter hurdles in :49.43. 

Emily Diekmann, Breckynn Pistulka, Hood and Sophia Bauld won the 1,600-meter relay (4:12.08). Braelyn Duerfeldt, Pistulka, Diekmann and Bauld won the sprint medley relay (4:22.07). 

Burke’s Paige Bull won the discus (136-2) and placed second in the shot put (37-6.50). Diekmann won the high jump (5-4) and placed third in the 100-meter hurdles (:18.01). 

Winner’s Keelie Kuil won the 100-meter dash (:12.97), 200-meter dash (:26.75) and 400-meter dash (:59.90). Winner’s Daisy McIntyre, Kylie Sachtjen, Livvy Audiss and Lilly Barfuss won the 400-meter relay in :51.82. The same foursome won the 800-meter relay (1:49.69). 

Corsica-Stickney’s Braylee Bordewyk won the 800-meter run (2:22.00) and placed second in the 100-meter dash (:13.04). 

Kimball/White Lake’s Autumn Baker won the 1,600-meter run (5:21.22). Chamberlain’s Grace Phillips won the 3,200-meter run (12:14.50). Gregory’s Dani VanDerWerff won the javelin with a toss of 111-5. Jones County’s BreAna Aske won the long jump (16-5.50). 

In boys action, Platte-Geddes’ Carson Vanden Berge won the 100-meter dash (:11.09) and finished second in the 200-meter dash (:22.99). Vanden Berge, Braxton Breukelman, Quincy Stephens and Hayden Sprik won the 400-meter relay (:43.83). The same foursome won the 800-meter relay (1:32.13). 

Winner’s Matthew Calhoon won the 1,600-meter run in 5:21.15. Winner’s Austin Blare was a double winner in the 110-meter hurdles (:15.77) and 300-meter hurdles (:42.76). Blare, Kellen Brozik, Jackson Bachmann and Karson Keiser won the 1,600-meter relay (3:31.14). 

Bachmann, Brozik, Jalen Tideman and Keiser won the 3,200-meter relay (8:46.40). Bachmann, Blare, Brozik and Kaiser won the sprint medley relay (3:40.77). 

Winner’s Shawn Hammerbeck (158-0), Jaxon Day (148-5) and Legend Benedict (143-10) finished first-through-third, respectively, in the discus. Hammerbeck added a second-place finish in the javelin (154-10) and Benedict placed second in the shot put (44-4). 

Corsica-Stickney’s Tate Tolsma won the javelin (166-2). 

Kimball/White Lake’s Lincoln Kranig won the 200-meter dash (:22.57) and teammate Park Sinclair won the 3,200-meter run in 10:31.88. KWL’s Chevy Fees won the long jump with a mark of 19-7.5. 

Platte-Geddes’ Quincy Stephens won the 400-meter dash in :52.56. Jones County’s Adrik Schoon won the 800-meter run, covering the distance in 2:03.76. 

Gregory’s Colt Keiser cleared 6-4 to win the high jump and teammate Eli Ekroth won the triple jump (38-5.75).
