SALEM —- Behind four individual champions the Canton girls dominated action at Friday’s McCook Central/Montrose Invitational.

Canton posted a score of 225 points, well ahead of Miller/Highmore-Harrold (125) and Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda (114.5). Mitchell (77) and Sisseton (56) rounded out the top-five teams. 

Winning individual titles for Canton were Jewel Gannon (100), Finley Evjen (120), Kori Wallner (185) and Natalia Long (235). Evjen defeated defending state champion Alexis Bryant of McCook Central/Montrose 10-0 in the championship match. 

The Doland girls finished seventh in the team standings but had two individual champions in Reganna Miles (165) and Kyla Logan (132). Logan edged Ipswich/Bowdle’s Sophia Knittel 10-8 in one of Friday’s top championship matches. 

Other individual titles were claimed by Liza Krueger, Groton Area (107), Frankie Kranz, Mitchell (114), Jocelyn Thomas, Lennox (126), Summer Githmiller, Sioux Valley (138), Maddie Feiock, Viborg-Hurley/Irene-Wakonda (145), Jaidynn Giedd, Kingsbury County (152).
