Canton holds Day 1 lead at Class B state wrestling tournament

SIOUX FALLS — Canton holds a seven-point lead over Winner after Day 1 of the Class B state wrestling tournament. 

Canton had 72 points, ahead of Winner (65) and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (53). Bon Homme/Avon (47.5) and Tri-Valley (40) round out the top-five teams. 

Canton’s Aidan Kranz (190 pounds), Bode Walker (106), Cael Vander Broek (113), Chase Adam (215), Conner Giedd (157) and Gunnar Swenson (285) have advanced to the semifinals. 

For Winner, Apollo Willuweit (106), Legend Benedict (285), Mason Curtis (215), Roukyn Robbins (126), Ryken Orel (150) and Rylan Robbins (120) are into the semifinals.
