Class A Boys Roundup - Hamlin pulls away from Clark/Willow Lake in third-place game

Hamlin 61, Clark/Willow Lake 43

RAPID CITY — Boden Stevenson and Jackson Wadsworth combined for 39 points as Hamlin knocked off Clark/Willow Lake for third place at the Class A state tournament on Saturday.

Stevenson finished with 22 points and three rebounds in the win, Wadsworth added 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists, Aiden Abraham had 10 points and four rebounds while Trig Heinrich netted six points and four boards for the Chargers.

For CWL, Chris Bevers had 13 points, Sully Felberg added 11 points and four rebounds, Emmerson Larson netted eight points, Jakob Steen had six points while Bo Begeman tallied five points and seven rebounds in the loss.


St. Thomas More 63, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 40

RAPID CITY — St. Thomas More pulled away from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte for the Class A consolation championship on Saturday.

STM’s Wyatt Gylten finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Broeden Sales had 11 points and five rebounds. Baron Slusarski had 10 points and Max Speed totaled nine points. 

For CEB, Levi Elk Nation recorded 11 points and five rebounds. Damien Clown totaled eight points and Austin Johnson scored six points. 


Groton Area 61, Stanley County 43

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures to power Groton Area to a seventh-place finish at Saturday’s Class A boys basketball tournament.

Keegen Tracy, Karson Zak and Ryder Johnson scored 15 points apiece. Johnson added six boards. Zak dished out eight assists. Gage Sippel posted 13 points. 

For Stanley County, Paxton Deal finished with 16 points and four 3-pointers. Eddie Duffy totaled seven points, while Teegyn Breitag and Trevor Caldwell scored six points apiece. Caldwell had eight boards and Breitag had six rebounds.
