Sioux Falls Christian 61, Wagner 49

WATERTOWN — Three players scored in double figures to power Sioux Falls Christian to a Class A girls basketball tournament win on Thursday. Sioux Falls Christian will play Mahpiya Luta in the semifinals on Friday at 6:45 p.m. CT. The Chargers edged Mahipya Luta in last year’s Class A state championship. 

Lezlei Setzer finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Ruth Dvoracek added 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. Emory Lems totaled 10 points and six rebounds. Sydney Schaap had five points and four assists. Aubrie VanBeek recorded four points and eight assists. 

For Wagner, Ashlyn Koupal totaled 15 points and nine rebounds. Braxton Nedved had 12 points and four assists. Hannah Holzbauer had 10 points, while Hayden Knudsen had nine points and four assists. 


Hamlin 61, Lakota Tech 52

WATERTOWN — Three players scored in double figures as No. 1 seed Hamlin outlasted No. 8 Lakota Tech at the Class A girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Hamlin’s Addie Jensen finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds. Addison Neuendorf added 16 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three 3-pointers. Issie Steffensen totaled 11 points, three rebounds, three assists and three 3-pointers. Paxton Neuendorf had nine points, three rebounds and three assists. 

For Lakota Tech, Amelia Shangreaux had 15 points and three rebounds. Kate Robinson and Lizzie Robinson added 12 points and five boards apiece. Addison Goings had 11 points and three rebounds. 


Lennox 42, Sioux Valley 28

WATERTOWN — Lennox led from start to finish en route to a Class A state girls basketball tournament win on Thursday.

Lennox’s Bergan Musser finished with 13 points, nine rebounds and five steals. Tori Gerdes added 12 points and seven rebounds. Teagen Sturm totaled nine points and three rebounds.

For Sioux Valley, Masey Top totaled 10 points and three rebounds. Kailey Cradduck finished with six points and nine rebounds. Miley Keating added six points. 


Mahpiya Luta 65, West Central 42

WATERTOWN — Ashlan Carlow-Blount and Mya Mills powered Mahipya Luta to a Class A state girls basketball win on Thursday.

Carlow-Blount finished with 24 points, eight rebounds, six assists and six steals. Mills added 18 points on six 3-pointers. Dorthie Mesteth totaled seven points and five assists. Shania Ferguson scored five points. 

For West Central, Kacey Jaton recorded 14 points, six rebounds and three steals. Mackenzie Skonhovd added nine points, while Abbi Thornton totaled seven points and three rebounds. Ellie Knight recorded six points and five steals.
