Sisseton 55, Red Cloud 47

WATERTOWN — Krista Langager’s big game helped Sisseton to a win over Red Cloud and third place in the Class A state tournament. 

Langager posted 27 points and 12 rebounds to lead Sisseton. Hannah Leverson finished with nine points, five rebounds and three assists. Emalee Nielsen scored eight points while Chloe Langager chipped in with six points and eight rebounds. 

Maikole Carlow knocked down five 3-pointers on her way to a team leading 18 points. Ashlan Blount scored 11 points and dished out three assists while Lolo Carlow added nine points and five rebounds. 


Hamlin 58, Wagner 55

WATERTOWN — After reaching the championship game in each of the last two Class A state tournaments the Hamlin Chargers tasted victory with a hard fought win over Wagner. Three players reached double figures for Hamlin as the Chargers finished the season undefeated. 

Kami Wadsworth paced Hamlin with 17 points, seven rebounds, two assists and three steals. Brooklyn Branreit made four 3-pointers on her way to a 14 point night. Ally Abraham chipped in with 12 points, six rebounds and two assists. 

Ashlyn Koupal paced Wagner with 14 points and two rebounds while Emma Yost posted 14 points and three rebounds. Shaylayne Nagel scored 10 points while Lydia Yost added nine points. 


Sioux Falls Christian 46, Flandreau 43 (OT)

WATERTOWN — Sioux Falls Christian outlasted Flandreau in overtime for the consolation title at the Class A girls basketball tournament on Saturday.

Sioux Falls Christian’s Ellie Lems logged 19 points and four boards. Moriah Harrison added six points and six boards. Peyton Poppema had five points and nine rebounds. 

Flandreau’s Lizzie Pavlis posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Sadie Iott had 10 points and four boards. Claire Sheppard logged 10 points and eight rebounds. Lily Klein netted eight points. 


Rapid City Christian 66, Lakota Tech 53

WATERTOWN — Olivia Kieffer and Hayden Thorton combined to score 52 points to lead Rapid City Christian to a seventh-place finish at the Class A state tournament on Saturday. 

Kieffer wrapped up her career with 33 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Thorton pumped in 19 points while Alexa Ham scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds. 

Jodene Hunter led the Tatanka with 16 points, two rebounds and two blocked shots. Tawny Rodriguez finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds while Melina Shangreaux added 11 points and seven rebounds.
