Class AA Boys Roundup - Harrisburg edges Watertown, plays Lincoln in semifinals

Harrisburg 65, Watertown 61

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Harrisburg defeated Watertown in the first round of the Class AA state boys basketball tournament Thursday.

Crayton Jibben led the Tigers with 19 points and three rebounds, Stellen Larson added 16 points and 12 boards, Myles Nour added 13 points and four rebounds while David Doe recorded 10 points and five steals in the win.

For Watertown, Carter Buisker had 23 points and five boards, Jackson McClemens recorded 19 points, six rebounds, three steals and a block, Jack Mack had eight points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks while Kaden Decker had six points in the loss.


Lincoln 69, Tea Area 44

RAPID CITY — Sam DeGroot’s 21-point double-double guided No. 1 Sioux Falls Lincoln over No. 8 Tea Area in the first round of the Class AA state boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

DeGroot finished with a game-high 21 points, 15 rebounds and two blocks, Brody Nour added 13 points, three boards and two steals, Brody Schafer tallied nine points and six rebounds, Sam Ericsson recorded nine points and five rebounds while Owen Duffy had six points and four rebounds in the win.

For Tea Area, Gavin Shawd led with 12 points and nine rebounds, Mitch Grant added 10 points and six boards, Lane Sieber tallied 10 points while Grifin Wiebenga netted seven points in the loss.


Sioux Falls Roosevelt 58, Brandon Valley 47 

RAPID CITY — A balanced scoring attack guided Sioux Falls Roosevelt over Brandon Valley in the first round of the Class AA state boys basketball tournament on Thursday.

Memphis Bylander led the Rough Riders with 14 points,  CJ Schmaus had 13 points, four assists and two steals, Bryson Skogsberg added 12 points, six boards, a steal and a block, Justin Bilal had seven points, four rebounds and three steals while Akol Thyab and Deondre Painter each had five points in the win.

For BV, Ayuel Deng, Briggs Knutson and Lincoln McInerney each had 10 points while Austin Dowd collected eight points and five boards in the loss.


Huron 60, O’Gorman 45 

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures to power Huron to a Class AA boys basketball tournament win on Thursday.

Huron’s Blake Ellwein finished with 16 points and six boards. Myles Ellwein recorded 15 points. Davis Chase had 13 points and four boards. Anderson Porisch recorded 11 points and 12 rebounds. 

For OG, Mason Clark recorded 14 points and Jaxson Weeldreyer had 10 points. Braylen Yellow Bird had nine points and Chace Hermanson recorded eight points.
