Class AA Girls Roundup - O’Gorman claims third consecutive Class AA state championship

O’Gorman 59, Brandon Valley 53

RAPID CITY — Sydney Terveen powered O’Gorman to the Class AA girls basketball championship on Saturday. 

Terveen finished with a game-high 33 points and added six rebounds. Ruby Moore added nine points and three reobunds. Sadie Mehrman had eight points and six boards. Ellie Meyer added seven points. 

For BV, Gracie Salter recorded 18 points and 15 boards. Ava Kellenberger had 13 points. Alyvia Padgett posted 13 points and six boards. 


Sioux Falls Washington 65, Aberdeen Central 42

RAPID CITY — Dana Harpe and Josie Biteler powered Washington to a third-place finish at the Class AA girls basketball tournament on Saturday.

Harpe posted 21 points and three rebounds. Biteler had 17 points and six rebounds. Layla Berte and Rylan Kennett scored nine points apiece.

For Aberdeen Central, Taryn Hermansen had 14 points and nine rebounds. Lauryn Burckhard had 11 points and seven rebounds. 


Mitchell 59, Rapid City Stevens 55

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Mitchell edged Rapid City Stevens for the consolation championship at Saturday’s Class AA girls basketball tournament. 

Mitchell’s Addie Siemsen recorded 21 points. Londyn Hajek and Nia Talley scored 12 points apiece. Talley added 10 boards. CeCe Morgan posted 11 points and nine rebounds. 

For Stevens, Mackenzie Schreiber recorded 16 points and three boards. Marley Seumanutafa posted 13 points and four rebounds. Haley Falcon recorded nine points and seven rebounds. 


Tea Area 69, Sioux Falls Jefferson 55

RAPID CITY — Three players scored in double figures as Tea Area defeated Sioux Falls Jefferson for a seventh place at Saturday’s Class AA girls basketball tournament.

Tea Area’s Anna Binde totaled 19 points, three rebounds and three 3-pointers. Emma Lingren recorded 16 points and eight rebounds. Ellie Clayberg totaled 15 points.

For Jefferson, Brinley Altenburg had 24 points and nine rebounds. Brianna Kindvall had nine points on three 3-pointers and grabbed eight boards.
