O’Gorman 66, Sioux Falls Washington 62

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as O’Gorman outlasted Sioux Falls Washington in Friday’s Class AA state semifinals. O’Gorman will play Brandon Valley for the Class AA state championship at 6:45 p.m., MT, Saturday night.

Ruby Moore led the Knights with 23 points and two steals, Sydney Terveen added 15 points and four rebounds, Ellie Meyer had 11 points and two boards, London Backes added 10 points while Sadie Mehrman netted seven points and five steals in the win.

For Washington, Dana Harpe had 15 points and 15 rebounds, Layla Berte tallied 10 points and six boards with two blocks, Rylan Kennett totaled 10 points and four rebounds, Josie Biteler had eight points and four steals while Ella McKean recorded seven points in the loss.


Brandon Valley 73, Aberdeen Central 44

RAPID CITY — Alyvia Padgett and Gracie Salter combined for 54 points as Brandon Valley defeated Aberdeen Central in the Class AA state girls basketball semifinals Friday. The Lynx will play O’Gorman Saturday at 6:45 p.m., CT, in the Class AA state championship.

Padgett finished with a game-high 32 points with five assists and five steals, Salter added 22 points, five rebounds and three steals while Ava Kellenberger had eight points and three steals in the win.

For AC, Lauryn Burckhard had 15 points and five rebounds, Ava Yeska added 14 points while Taryn Hermansen totaled 11 points, eight rebounds and two steals in the loss.


Rapid City Stevens 70, Tea Area 52 

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Rapid City Stevens knocked off Tea Area in the consolation semifinals of the Class AA state girls basketball tournament. The Raiders will play Mitchell at 12:45 p.m., MT, in the consolation championship.

Hayden Thorton led the Raiders with 17 points, three rebounds and two blocks, Marley Seumanutafa added 12 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks, Mackenzie Schreiber had 12 points and eight boards, Jessa Griswold totaled 11 points while Haley Falcon had eight points, four boards and two steals in the win.

For Tea Area, Jay VanLaecken totaled 15 points and three rebounds, Emma Lingren added 11 points, eight boards and four steals, Anna Binde tallied nine points and four rebounds, Ellie Clayberg scored eight points while Jaycie Babb had six points in the loss.


Mitchell 57, Sioux Falls Jefferson 51

RAPID CITY — Four players scored in double figures as Mitchell outlasted Sioux Falls Jefferson in Friday’s Class AA state consolation semifinals. The Kernels will play Rapid City Stevens in the consolation championship at 12:45 p.m., MT, Saturday.

Nia Talley led the Kernels with 17 points and eight rebounds, Addie Siemsen added 14 points and four rebounds, Londyn Hajek had 13 points and three steals while CeCe Morgan collected 13 points and six boards in the win.

For Jefferson, Brinley Altenburg had a game-high 31 points and five rebounds, Brianna Kindvall had seven points and two steals, Ayleah Johnson tallied six points while Macy Bryant had five points in the loss.
