SIOUX FALLS — A balanced scoring attack helped the Pierre girls earn a win over Rapid City Stevens on Thursday during the first round of the Class AA state tournament. 

Remington Price led Pierre with15 points, two rebounds, two assists and seven steals. Lennix Dupris had seven points and five rebounds while Ayvrie Kaiser chipped in with seven points and six rebounds. 

Isabell Higgins led Rapid City Stevens with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Taaliyah Porter scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Raiders. 


Sioux Falls Washington 48, Watertown 24

SIOUX FALLS — A balanced scoring attack helped Sioux Falls Washington double up Watertown in the first game of the girls Class AA state tournament Thursday. 

Brooklyn Harpe powered the Warriors with 19 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Grace Peterson added nine points and seven rebounds while Hannah Harpe chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, seven assists and five steals. 

Maddy Rhode led Watertown with eight points while Emery Thury added seven points for the Arrows. 


Sioux Falls Jefferson 50, Mitchell 34

SIOUX FALLS — A big night for Cierra Watkins helped Sioux Falls Jefferson earn a win over Mitchell on Thursday in the first round of the girls Class AA state tournament. 

Watkins powered Jefferson with 20 points, nine rebounds and a steal. Kassidy Larsen added nine points with Ashlen Johnson chipping in with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Addie Siemsen led Mitchell with 13 points and seven rebounds. Lauren Van Overschelde added 10 points and three rebounds. 

 

Harrisburg 53, Sioux Falls O’Gorman 41

 SIOUX FALLS — Sadie Mehrman and Hannah Eide combined to score 34 points as Harrisbug earned a win over Sioux Falls Washington in the first round of the Class AA state tournament.

Mehrman led Harrisburg with 21 points and two rebounds. Eide finished with 13 points and 10 rebounds while Kayleigh Hybertson chipped in with nine points and three rebounds.

Mahli Abdouch led O’Gorman with 12 points, three rebounds and four assists. Lucy Moore added 11 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Knights.
