Ethan 34, Corsica-Stickney 31

MITCHELL — Ethan outlasted Corsica-Stickney for a Class B girls basketball tournament berth on Thursday.

Ava Lingemann and Madeline Bartscher scored 10 points apiece. Ella Pollreisz logged six points and Leah Klock scored five points. 

Corsica-Stickney’s Payton DeLange scored 11 points, while Avery Broughton and Sydney Spaans scored six points apiece. 


Wolsey-Wessington 58, Leola/Frederick Area 23

HURON — Mallory Miller and Leah Williams combined for 37 points as Wolsey-Wessington punched their ticket to the Class B state tournament with a win over Leola/Frederick Area on Thursday. 

Miller led the Warbirds with 22 points, four rebounds and four steals. Williams scored fifteen points, dished out two assists and recorded three steals. Mya Boomsma chipped in with eight points and four rebounds. 

Sofia Losure led Leola/Frederick Area with eight points while Chloe Arneson chipped in with six points. 


Viborg-Hurley 63, Lyman 34

SALEM — Three players scored in double figures as Viborg-Hurley picked up a win over Lyman on Thursday advancing to next week’s state tournament.  

Coral Mason’s double double of 16 points and 16 rebounds led Viborg-Hurley. Denae Mach had 15 points and six rebounds while Estelle Lee finished with 13 points, three rebounds and three steals. 

Makayla Scott led Lyman with 12 points and five rebounds. Jordyn Scott added 10 points while Skyler Volmer scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds. 



Sully Buttes 44, Harding County 26

GETTYSBURG — Lydia Hill and Calleigh Chicoine combined to score 30 points as Sully Buttes advanced to the Class B state tournament with a girls basketball win over Harding County Thursday. 

Hill led Sully Buttes with 19 points and five rebounds. Chicoine scored 11 points and grabbed two rebounds for the Chargers. 

Claire Verhulst led Harding County with six points and six rebounds. Kaylen Padden added five points and a steal for the Ranchers. 


Howard 61, Wessington Springs 40

HURON — Four players scored in double figures as Howard picked up a girls basketball win over Wessington Springs Thursday. 

Rylee Rudebusch led Howard with 13 points, four rebounds and two steals. Dakota Spencer scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds while Trinity Palmquist and Abby Aslesen each scored 10 points for the Tigers. 

Carissa Scheel led Wessington Springs with 13 points and nine rebounds while Kirstie Munsen added 10 points and eight rebounds. 


Castlewood 74, Timber Lake 46

REDFIELD — Maddie Horn and Mackenzie Everson scored 23 points apiece as Castlewood advanced to the Class B girls basketball tournament on Thursday.

Presley Knecht added 16 points and Lyndsey Archer scored nine points. 

Timber Lake's Shay Kraft netted 18 points and Jasmine Nash added 12 points. Carlie Lawrence scored eight points. 

 

Wall 74, Warner 64

 FORT PIERRE — Wall pulled away from Warner for a SoDak 16 girls basketball and advanced to the state tournament on Thursday.

Paige Kjerstad scored a game-high 31 points, while Nora Dinger added 17 points. Alexis Stephan scored 14 points. 

Warner's Ava Nilsson and Kendyl Anderson scored 11 points apiece. Kyra Marcuson had 10 points. Sophia Hoeft and Lauren Marcuson scored eight points apiece. 

 

Jones County 54, Centerville 37

CHAMBERLAIN — Jones County advanced to the Class B girls basketball tournament on Thursday. 

The Class B state tournament is March 9-11 in Huron.
