Castlewood 51, Howard 47

HURON — Castlewood clipped Howard for a Class B girls basketball consolation semifinal win on Friday. 

Castlewood’s Madeline Horn logged 15 points and five rebounds. Mackenzie Everson added 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Presley Knecht and Gracie Haug had seven points. Lyndsey Archer logged six points. 

Howard’s Kate Connor had 17 points and nine rebounds. Canyon Kidd posted 10 points and five points. Abby Aslesen logged eight points and 12 rebounds. Rylee Rudebusch recorded six points and four rebounds.

Jones County 47, Sully Buttes 38

HURON — Jones County jumped out to a 26-10 first-half lead en route to a Class B girls basketball tournament win on Friday. 

Jones County’s Jadyn Jensen finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Mallory Valburg finished with 10 points, six rebounds and five steals. Emma Hunt logged seven points, while Peyton Rankin and Mallory Venard scored five points apiece. 

Sully Buttes’ Lydia Hill logged 17 points and five rebounds. Allyson Wittler scored eight points, while Stevie Wittler had seven points and seven rebounds.
