Red Cloud 73, Wakpala 25

Red Cloud led from start to finish and coasted to a girls basketball win over Wakapla on Thursday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

A balanced effort for the Crusaders who had fourteen players reach the scoring column. 

Ashlan Carlow led the way with nine points. Raina Ghost Bear, Cheree Ferguson, Jade Ecoffey, Rhionna Brewer and Justina Pourier scored seven points apiece. Pourier added six rebounds. Allison Richards and Essence Tobacco scored five points apiece. Anjah Lamont grabbed eight rebounds. Red Cloud plays White River in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Ceymone Eagleman led Wakpala with 11 points while contributing five blocked shots. Antania Otter Robe and Tyrianna Hawk Bear had seven points apiece. Otter Robe grabbed eight rebounds. Wakpala plays Crow Creek in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


White River 59, Crow Creek 47

The Tigers opened bracket play with a double digit win on Thursday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Maleighya Estes had another big game with 33 points and 15 rebounds. Lilly Krogman and Tana Bear Heels each had six points for White River. Kelsey Morrison netted five points and Carlie Krogman added five boards. White River plays Red Cloud in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Crow Creek had two players reach double figures with Rozee Drapeau scoring 15 points and Angelina LeBeau adding 11 points. Audrey Drapeau added nine points, while Hannah Sazue had seven points and seven rebounds. Ronessa Sazue grabbed seven boards. Crow Creek plays Wakpala in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Lakota Tech 63, Dupree 33

Three players scored in double figures to power Lakota Tech to a girls basketball win over Dupree in Oceti Sakowin Bracket action on Thursday. 

Tobi Carlow logged 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. Jodene Hunter added 12 points, while Shayla Bravo recorded 10 points and eight rebounds. Moriah Morisette added six points and five rebounds. Tawny Rodriquez contributed six rebounds and nine assists. Melina Shangreaux added five points. Lakota Tech plays Custer in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Dupree’s Chloe Dupree finished with nine points and 11 rebounds. Daci Lends His Horse added eight points and four rebounds. McKadyn Chasing Hawk added six points. Dupree plays Rapid City Christian in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Custer 38, Rapid City Christian 35

Custer outlasted Rapid City Christian in a girls basketball Oceti Sakowin Bracket contest on Friday. 

Alice Sedlacek led the Wildcats with 14 points and nine rebounds. Josey Wahlstrom added 12 points. Allyson Cass finished with five points and six rebounds. Bailey Cass added eight points. Custer plays Lakota Tech in the bracket championship semifinals on Friday. 

Rapid City Christian’s Olivia Kieffer paced the Comets with 23 points and 17 rebounds. Savannah Armendariz added seven points and five rebounds. Haydon Thorton finished with four points and five rebounds. Sarah Enos grabbed seven rebounds. Rapid City Christian plays Dupree in the bracket consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Little Wound 59, St. Francis Indian 54

In one of the more competitive games of the day, Little Wound earned a five-point win Thursday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Taiyah Pourier and Angelina Brave each scored 15 for the Mustangs. Brave added five rebounds. Lalanni Janis finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Angeliyah Big Boy added five boards. Little Wound plays Lower Brule in the Makosica championship semifinals on Friday. 

Sharlee Kills In Sight led St. Francis Indian with 27 points and eight rebounds. Cante Anderson finished with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Kass Arcoren scored five points. St. Francis plays Pine Ridge in the Makosica consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Lower Brule 52, Pine Ridge 39 

Kharmon Wells and Julianna LaRoche scored in double figures to lead Pine Ridge to a girls basketball win in Makosica Bracket play on Thursday. 

Wells finished with 15 points, while LaRoche tossed in 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kaitlyn Thompson added eight points and seven rebounds. Jesse Estes added five points and five rebounds. Aralyn Defender had six rebounds and Hillary Goodlow added five boards. Lower Brule plays Little Wound in the Makosica championship semifinals on Friday.

Pine Ridge’s Lolo Carlow finished with 14 points. Anpo Giago finished with 10 points. Tristiana Brewer had seven points, while Chancy Witt had five points and six rebounds. Patricia Carlow finished with seven rebounds. Pine Ridge plays St. Francis in the Makosica consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Todd County 57, Tiospa Zina 29

Todd County topped Tiospa Zina in girls basketball action in Makosica Bracket play on Thursday. 

Wiconi Uses Arrow finished with 15 points and four steals. Julisa Shaw added 13 points, while Bailey White Hat had 12 points and six rebounds. Alexis Walking Eagle finished with five points and nine rebounds. Wimayanwin Neck had six points and four rebounds. Todd County plays Cheyenne-Eagle Butte on Friday. 

Tiospa Zina’s Alexia Quinn and Hannah Ziegler scored nine points apiece. Quinn finished with four rebounds. Jaia Bursheim added five points and four rebounds. Tiospa Zina plays Omaha Nation on Friday. 


Cheyenne Eagle Butte 52, Omaha Nation 42

Two players from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte reached double figures as the Lady Braves earned a win in the Makosica Bracket play on Thursday. 

Cassie Carter led all scorers with 24 points. Shawnee Lawrence finished with 12 points while also adding four rebounds. The Braves play Todd County on Friday. 

Omaha Nation was led by Janissa Whitewater who finished with 15 points while pulling down four rebounds. The Chiefs move on to play Tiospa Zina in the Makosica consolation semifinals on Friday. 


Marty 80, Takini 19

Jayla Bruguier netted 29 points to power Marty to a girls basketball win over Takini in Paha Sapa girls basketball action on Thursday.

Deandra Garneaux finished with 16 points. Nevaeh Medicine Horn added 14 points and seven rebounds. Laci Middletent had six points and Hawk Bair scored five points. Marty plays Todd County JV on Friday.

Takini’s Amiyah St. John scored seven points and grabbed five rebounds. Takini plays Crazy Horse on Friday. 


Todd County JV 80, Crazy Horse 15

Lesleen Makes Room For Them and Julisa Shaw scored 23 points apiece to pace Todd County JV to a girls basketball win over Crazy Horse in Paha Sapa action on Thursday.

Shaw added six rebounds and Makes Room For Them grabbed five boards. Allie Wilcox finished with six points, while Peyton Leroy and Athena Dwarf had five points apiece. Todd County JV plays Marty on Friday. 

Crazy Horse’s Lelanna Red Elk had eight points and four rebounds. Amira Sitting Up grabbed five rebounds. Crazy Horse plays Takini on Friday. 


Santee, Neb., 51, Tiospaye Topa 31 

Three players scored in double figures to lead Santee, Nebraska, to a girls basketball win over Tiospaye Topa on Thursday.

Hehaka Frazier finished with 16 points and five rebounds. Tierahnee Tuttle added 12 points and seven boards. Paris Runnels finished with 10 points. Wendy Archambeau and Layla Johnson scored six points apiece. Johnson grabbed six boards. Octavia Bluebird added seven rebounds. Santee plays Oelrichs on Friday.

Tiospaye Topa’s Alexie Bowker tossed in 10 points and grabbed 18 rebounds. Leilani Bowker finished with nine points and 15 boards. Kaylynn Holy Bear had eight points. Tiospaye Topa plays McLaughlin on Friday. 


Oelrichs 51, McLaughlin 35

Molly Little and Tlea Rouillard combined for 43 points and 24 rebounds to pace Oelrichs to a girls basketball win over McLaughlin on Thursday. 

Little finished with 27 points and 15 rebounds. McLaughlin had 16 points and nine boards. Ameli Her Many Horses had six points and nine boards. Alyssa Palmier had six rebounds. Oelrichs plays Santee, Nebraska, on Friday. 

McLaughlin’s Holly Miller finished with 10 points, while Kimimila White Mountain had nine points and seven rebounds. Reagin Yellow Earrings had seven points. McLaughlin plays Tiospaye Topa on Friday.
