Girls basketball

Red Cloud 71, White River 53

Three players scored in double figures to lead Red Cloud to a girls basketball win over White River at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. Red Cloud will play Lakota Tech in the championship game of the Oceti Sakowin bracket on Saturday. 

Stevi Fallis finished with 15 points, while Jordan Derby posted 13 points. Sharissa Haas had 12 points and five boards. Raina Ghost Bear and Maikole Carlow had nine points apiece, while Ghost Bear had five points. Carlow dished out four assists. Jade Ecoffey had six points. 

White River’s Maleighya Estes tossed in 31 points and grabbed six rebounds. Rhea Tucker tossed in 17 points and added five boards. Lilly Krogman grabbed six rebounds. 


Lakota Tech 63, Custer 41

Shayla Bravo and Tawney Rodriquez combined for 21 points and 13 rebounds to pace Lakota Tech to a girls basketball win over Custer at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. Lakota Tech will play Red Cloud in the championship game of the Oceti Sakowin bracket on Saturday. 

Bravo had 11 points and six rebounds, while Rodriquez had 10 points and seven rebounds. Jodene Hunter and Tobi Carlow had nine points apiece. Carlow grabbed six boards. Shyleigh Richard added eight points and Vilique Fallis ahd six points. 

Custer’s Allyson Cass had 19 points and Josey Wahlstrom added 14 points. 


Crow Creek 73, Wakpala 39

Three players scored in double figures to lead Crow Creek to a girls basketball win over Wakpala on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Rozee Drapeau and Angelina LeBeau had 14 points apiece, while LeBeau had eight rebounds. Audrey Drapeau finished with 13 points. Nateela His Law had eight points and Maili Marks added seven points. Ronessa Sazue and Nataye His Law had five points apiece. 

Wakpala’s Ceymone Eagleman tossed in a game-high 28 points and grabbed four rebounds. Antania Otter Robe finished with nine points, while Tyrianna Hawk Bear had 12 points. 


Rapid City Christian 65, Dupree 51

Olivia Kieffer and Haydon Thorton combined for 31 points to lead Rapid City Christian to a girls basketball win over Dupree on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Kieffer finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Thorton had 12 points. Holiday Thorton added nine points, while Savannah Armendariz had eight points and six rebounds. Sarah Enos added nine points and Shelby Burkhalter had six points. 

Dupree’s Chloe Dupree recorded 26 points and 10 boards. Rylin Rousseau had eight points, while Taylee Jewett had six points and four rebounds. Daci Lends His Horse added five points. 


Pine Ridge 55, St. Francis 41

Lolo Carlow tossed in 23 points to lead Pine Ridge to a girls basketball victory over St. Francis on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Tristiana Brewer added 11 points and 13 rebounds. Cistin Two Lance finished with 11 rebounds, while Anpo Giago added nine boards. Alison Reavis had five points. 

St. Francis’ Sharlee Kills In Sight finished with 21 points, while Cante Anderson had 14 points and 11 boards. 


Omaha Nation 50, Tiospa Zina 43

Janissa Whitewater recorded 22 points in Omaha Nation’s boys basketball win over Tiospa Zina at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. 

Whitewater added nine rebounds and four assists. Maleah Miller added 16 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Kirstyn Miller had five points. 

Tiospa Zina’s Jaia Bursheim finished with 17 points and six rebounds. Kendaee Bissonette had 11 points and 12 rebounds. Jaia Bursheim had eight points and Latice Rodlund added nine rebounds. 


Lower Brule 56, Little Wound 38

Courtney Traversie had a monster double-double to lead Lower Brule to a girls basketball win over Little Wound at the Lakota Nation Invitational on Friday. 

Traversie finished with 25 points, 24 rebounds and three blocked shots. Kharmon Wells added 14 points, while Hillary Goodlow had seven points and six boards. Alley Wells had five points and four rebounds, while Kaitlyn Thompson had five rebounds. 

Little Wound’s Angeliyah Big Boy had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Taiyah Pourier and Tara Rouillard had nine points apiece. Lalanni Janis finished with seven points and five rebounds. 


Todd County 47, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte 41

Three players scored in double figures to lead Todd County to a girls basketball win over Cheyenne-Eagle Butte on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational. 

Bailey White Hat finished with 14 points and seven rebounds. Julisa Shaw had 11 points and five rebounds. Alexis Walking Eagle had 10 points and 10 rebounds. Wiconi Uses Arrow had nine points, while Wimayanwin Neck had five rebounds. 

CEB’s Shawnee Lawrence finished with 17 points and 11 boards. Cassie Carter added 13 pints, while KaiLoni Johnson finished with eight points and seven rebounds. 


Takini 55, Crazy Horse 24

Halo Waloke recorded a double-double to lead Takini to a girls basketball win over Crazy Horse on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Waloke had 15 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Jynea St. John added 13 points and eight boards. Amiyah St. John added eight points and 15 rebounds. Tulana Waloke posted five points and five rebounds. Sophia Brings Plenty scored six points, while Annatia Hayes had four points and five rebounds. 

Crazy Horse’s Lelanna Red Elk finished with eight points. Relaya Gotheridge had four points and seven rebounds. 


McLaughlin 38, Tiospaye Topa 32

McLaughlin edged Tiospaye Topa in girls basketball action on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Kimimila White Mountain finished with eight points and eight rebounds. Reagin Yellow Earrings finished with seven points, while Mercedes Chase had five points and four rebounds. Destiny Medicine Crow had five rebounds. 

Tiospaye Topa’s Leilani Bowker finished with 19 points and 25 rebounds. Adrianna Johnson added 10 points and Stace LaCompte had six rebounds. 


Marty 64, Todd County JV

Three players scored in double figures to lead Marty to a girls basketball win on Friday at the Lakota Nation Invitational.

Hawk Bair posted 24 points, while Jayla Bruguier added 16 points and four 3-pointers. Genesis Patton posted 10 points and nine rebounds. Nevaeh Medicine Horn had six points and Keya Ross added five points.
