Girls basketball 

Hanson 73, Avon 43

MITCHELL — Hanson had five players score in double figures as it ran past Avon for a girls basketball win on Monday at the Corn Palace.

Alyssa Moschell led all scorers with 14 points and five rebounds, while Annalyse Weber had 13 points. Vanessa Doyle added 12 points, while Erin Dewald and Karlie Goergen had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Avon’s Courtney Sees had 12 points, while Tiffany Pelton recorded eight points and four rebounds.


Redfield 44, Groton Area 42

REDFIELD — Redfield turned a nine-point third-quarter deficit into a two-point girls basketball win over Groton Area on Monday. 

Camryn Rohlfs finished with 12 points and grabbed five rebounds. Gracie Fast finished with 11 points and eight rebounds. Katie Rozell added nine points and four rebounds. Ashlyn Clausen had six points. Chelsea Smith grabbed six rebounds and scored four points. 

Groton Area’s Allyssa Locke scored 10 points, while Alyssa Thaler and Sydney Leicht scored seven points apiece. Jordyn Penning added six points. 


Arlington 65, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 21

ARLINGTON — Hadley Carlson put in 29 points to power Arlington to a girls basketball win over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in girls basketball action on Monday. 

Carlson added nine points, six steals, four assists and three 3-pointers. Harley Johnson finished with 12 points and six steals. Grace Parry posted eight points.

ORR’s Julia Trygstad had seven points and eight rebounds. Alivia Spilde added six points and five rebounds. Alivia Bickett had four points and five boards. 


Aberdeen Roncalli 51, Sully Buttes 24

ABERDEEN — Class B No. 1 Aberdeen Roncalli topped Sully Buttes in a girls basketball contest on Monday. 

Morgan Fiedler finished with 15 points, while Olivia Hanson added 12 points. Jeci Ewart had eight points, while Madelyn Bragg had nine points, nine rebounds and seven blocked shots. 

Lydia Hill had seven points for the Chargers. 

 

De Smet 54, Dell Rapids St. Mary 43

DELL RAPIDS -- De Smet topped Dell Rapids St. Mary in a girls basketball contest on Monday. 

Kennadi Buchholz led the Bulldogs with 21 points, while Jada Burke tossed in 18 points. 

No stats were reported for Dell Rapids St. Mary. 


Beresford 49, Baltic 40

BERESFORD — Beresford picked up a girls basketball win over Baltic on Monday.

Beresford was led by Ella Merriman’s 23 points, while Kara Niles finished with 11 points.

Baltic’s Berklee Erickson finished with 13 points, while Mackenzie Allen scored 10 points.


Boys basketball 

Hanson 56, Kimball/White Lake 33

MITCHELL — Hanson rolled to a boys basketball win over Kimball/White Lake on Monday at the Corn Palace. 

Kade Waldera led the Beavers with 15 points. Ethan Cheeseman added nine points and 10 rebounds. Isayah Price and Jayce Slaba had nine points apiece. 

KWL’s Ryder Michalek scored 12 points and Dawson Miller added seven points. 


De Smet 60, Dell Rapids St. Mary 42

DELL RAPIDS — Kalen Garry and Damon Wilkinson each recorded double-doubles to lead Class B No. 1 De Smet to a boys basketball win over Dell Rapids St. Mary on Monday. 

Garry led the Bulldogs with 24 points, 10 rebounds and three 3-pointers. Wilkinson added 18 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots. Tory Holland finished with six points, while Kadyn Fast added five points. Rett Osthus posted four points, three rebounds and six assists. 

Dylan Mathis led Dell Rapids St. Mary with 16 points and six rebounds. John Pica added nine points and eight boards. Nic Gaspar finished with nine points and six rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 72, Tea Area 61

NORTH SIOUX CITY — Isaac Bruns had a big performance to lead Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win over Tea Area on Monday.

Bruns led the Panthers with 30 points and five rebounds, while Randy Rosenquist posted 18 points, six rebounds, four steals, and four assists. Jaxson Wingert added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

No stats were reported for Tea Area.


Arlington 69, Colman-Egan 52

ARLINGTON — Arlington used a big performance from Ryker Erstad to earn a win over Colman-Egan in boys basketball on Monday.

Erstad finished with a game-high 29 points, while Blake Madsen had 14 points and nine rebounds. Caden Letsche finished with a double-double of 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Colman-Egan’s Antonio Manzano had 17 points and seven rebounds, while Camden Schmidt finished with nine points. Ben Zwart and Jackson Zwart had eight points each.


Aberdeen Roncalli 56, Sully Buttes 37

ABERDEEN — Three players scored in double figures to lead Aberdeen Roncalli to a boys basketball win over Sully Buttes on Monday. 

Maddox May and Zee Mounga scored 14 and 13 points, respectively. Keegan Stewart added 10 points. 

Landon Hepker tossed in 17 points for the Chargers. 


Howard 70, Freeman 33

FREEMAN — Howard raced past Freeman for a boys basketball win on Monday.

Freeman’s Bradey Kaufman scored 12 points, while Tate Sorensen finished with eight points.

No stats were reported for Howard.


Estelline/Hendricks 53, Lake Preston 19

LAKE PRESTON — Estelline/Hendricks had three players score in double figures as they won a boys basketball game over Lake Preston on Monday.

Braxton Saathoff led all scorers with 17 points, while Dawson Bury had 15 points and Mattix Hausman had 10 points.

Lake Preston was led by Riley Casper, who finished with 14 points.


Waverly-South Shore 64, Iroquois/Doland 52

WAVERLY — Three players scored in double figures to lead Waverly-South Shore to a boys basketball win over Iroquois/Doland on Monday. 

Carter Comes tossed in 21 points, while Cooper Schmidt had 15 points and Troy Kneeland added 13 points. Dan Dalton and Landon Maag had six points apiece. 

Iroquois/Doland’s Haydon Shurson netted 26 points. Cameron Noethlich and Mason Tschetter scored eight points apiece. Diego Prieto added six points. 


Sisseton 48, Wilmot 40

SISSETON — Sisseton picked up an eight-point boys basketball win over Wilmot on Monday. 

Wilmot’s Trey Jurgens scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Brayden Ebben had eight points and 10 boards. Dennis Creadon had six points and Ben Kasuske scored five points. 

No stats were reported for Sisseton. 


Beresford 55, Baltic 44

BERESFORD — Beresford pulled away from Baltic for a boys basketball win on Monday. 

Andrew Atwood scored 20 points and Tate VanOtterloo tossed in 17 points. Ashton Tjaden had six points, while Isaiah Richards and Gage Lyle scored five points apiece. 

Baltic’s Corbin Wirkus scored 13 points. James Leffring scored seven points.
