Parkston 58, Viborg-Hurley 51

PARKSTON — Allison Ziebart and Abby Hohn combined for 43 points and 15 rebounds to power Parkston to a girls basketball win over Class B No. 5 Viborg-Hurley at the Parkston Classic on Tuesday. 

Ziebart finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Hohn added 21 points and five boards. Faith Oakley had 10 points. 

Viborg-Hurley’s Coral Mason had 17 points and six boards. Estelle Lee recorded 12 points and four assists. Denae Mach added eight points, three rebounds and three assists. 

 

Dakota Valley 67, Corsica-Stickney 66

PARKSTON -- Rylee Rosenquist recorded a double-double as Dakota Valley edged Corsica-Stickney in girls basketball action Tuesday at the Parkston Classic. 

Rosenquist finished with 31 points, 17 rebounds and six assists. Peyton Tritz added 12 points, while Grace Bass had 10 pionts. Jorja Van Den Hul added seven points and six rebounds. Corsica-Stickney's Rachel Gerlach logged 19 points and four assists. Casey Tolsma posted 16 points, while Avery Broughton added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. Morgan Clites tossed in 11 points and Payton DeLange scored seven points. 


Mount Vernon/Plankinton 50, Miller 14

PLANKINTON — Emilee Fox and Maria Baker each scored in double figures to lead Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a girls basketball win over Miller on Tuesday. 

Fox finished with 15 points, while Baker scored 13 points. 

Miller’s Jaden Werdel scored eight points. 


Milbank 49, Dell Rapids 43

MILBANK — Maurina Street, Isabella Anderson and Tyra Berry combined for 42 points to power Milbank to a girls basketball win over Dell Rapids on Tuesday. 

Street led the Bulldogs with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Anderson added 11 points. Berry finished with nine points and five assists. 

Dell Rapids’ Haileigh Barnhart logged 11 points, five rebounds and four steals. Maggie Schmidt added 10 points and five rebounds. Liz Price posted seven points.  


Winner 56, Bon Homme 17

WINNER — Winner improved to 3-2 on the season with a routine home win on Tuesday afternoon. 

Bella Swedlund finished with 21 points and ten rebounds. Ellie Brozik netted 16 points, hitting 5-of-7, 3-pointers for the Warriors while coming up with four steals. 

Olivia Bures led Bon Homme with six points. Erin Heusinkveld finished with five points and five rebounds.


Tri-Valley 57, Garretson 42

COLTON — Two players scored in double figures as Tri-Valley picked up a girls basketball win over Garretson on Tuesday.

Paige Jewett finished with a game-high 23 points, while Lauren Grinde added 17 points.

Anna Jones led Garretson with 14 points.

 

Dell Rapids St. Mary 68, Chester Area 56

DELL RAPIDS — Dell Rapids St. Mary picked up a girls basketball win over Chester Area on Tuesday.

Ella Griffin and Madala Hanson each scored 13 points and four assists, while Hanson added six rebounds. Whitney Warwick recorded nine points, while Addyson Gilbert scored eight points. Brianna Griffin grabbed seven rebounds.

No stats were reported for Chester Area.


Boys basketball

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 67, Miller 37

PLANKINTON — Reed Rus logged a double-double to power Mount Vernon/Plankinton to a boys basketball win over Miller on Tuesday. 

Rus finished with 28 points, 18 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Mason Hetland added 11 points, while Blaine Bohr and Jordan Stoltz scored seven points apiece. Stoltz collected six rebounds. Zach Baker added five points and five rebounds. 


Dakota Valley 76, Platte-Geddes 41 

PARKSTON — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class A No. 2 Dakota Valley to a boys basketball win over Platte-Geddes at the Parkston Classic on Tuesday. 

Randy Rosenquist recorded an 11-point, 10-assist double-double. Isaac Bruns tossed in 27 points, while Jaxon Hennies scored 13 points. Joey Bryan had 11 points. 


Winner 69, Bon Homme 31

WINNER — Two players reached double figures as Winner improved to 5-0 with a home win Tuesday evening. 

Blake Volmer led Winner with 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and four steals. Finn Bartels scored 12 points in just eight minutes. 

Carter Uecker led Bon Homme with nine points. Landon Bares had seven points while pulling down five rebounds. 


Dell Rapids 55, Milbank 53

MILBANK — Dell Rapids had three players score in double figures as they pulled out a close win over Milbank in a boys basketball game on Tuesday.

Brayden Pankonen and Jack Henry led the Quarriers with 15 points each, while Camden Justice had 10 points.

Milbank’s Bennett Schwenn led all scorers with 17 points, while Garrett Mertens added 10 points. Wylie Mursu recorded 10 points and 10 rebounds.  


Dell Rapids St. Mary 53, Chester Area 46

DELL RAPIDS — John Pica and Ty Brown each scored in double figures as Dell Rapids St. Mary earned a win over Chester Area on Tuesday.

Pica led the Cardinals with a game-high 18 points, while Brown recorded 10 points. Dylan Mathis added 9 points, while CJ Smith scored 8 points.

Stratton Eppard led Chester Area with 17 points, while Jovi Wolf added 8 points.


Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 94, Lake Preston 40

LAKE PRESTON — Two players scored in double figures as Oldham-Ramona/Rutland rolled past Lake Preston for a boys basketball win on Tuesday.

Will Matson scored a game-high 24 points, while Orion Albertson recorded 23 points.

For Lake Preston, Josh McMasters scored 14 points, while Riley Casper added 10 points and eight rebounds.
