Tea Area 80, Vermillion 79 (2OT)

VERMILLION — Tea Area upset Class A No. Vermillion in a Region 4A girls basketball double overtime thriller on Friday. The Titans advanced to the SoDak 16 with the win. 

Katie Vasecka led the Titans with 30 points and 10 rebounds, including a game-tying 3-pointer to send the game into overtime. Mara Grant added 28 points and 19 rebounds. Kendra McKinney added nine points, while Stella Peterson had five points. 

Vermillion’s Brooklyn Voss scored 19 points and Taylor Reuvers added 18 points. Brooke Jensen scored 10 points and Chandler Cleveland had 10 points. Leah Herbster scored six points. 

Lyman 44, Potter County 21

GETTYSBURG — Lyman advanced to the SoDak 16 with a Region 6B girls basketball win on Friday. 

Lyman’s Skyler Volmer finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, six blocked shots, six steals and five assists. Mak Scott added 18 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Jordyn Scott had six points and four steals, while Kelsyn Wells posted six rebounds. 


Brandon Valley 55, Huron 37

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Brandon Valley to a girls basketball win over Huron on Friday. 

Hilary Behrens finished with 12 points and four rebounds. Alyvia Padgett added 11 points, while Kennedi Deckert had 10 points. Ava Kellenberger scored nine points. Paisley Hoff had six points and seven rebounds. 

Huron’s Hamtyn Heinz finished with 10 points and four rebounds. Isabelle Ellwein recorded eight points and five rebounds. Kristen Janes and Heavan Gainey scored seven points apiece.


Sioux Falls Washington 46, Rapid City Stevens 35

SIOUX FALLS — Three players scored in double figures to lift Sioux Falls Washington to a girls basketball on Friday. 

Washington’s Brooklyn Harpe finished with 23 points and nine rebounds. Alexus Motley added 11 points and nine rebounds. Grace Peterson finished with 10 points. 

Stevens’ Taaliyah Porter finished with eight points and four rebounds. Isabell Higgins had seven points and seven rebounds. Macey Wathen, Gabbie Love, Finley Love and Halle Peterson scored five points apiece.
