Wessington Springs 66, Gregory 50

MITCHELL — Three players scored in double figures to pace Wessington Springs to a Region 5B girls basketball win on Saturday. The Spartans advance to the SoDak 16 next week.

Avery Orth led the Spartans with 23 points and 11 boards. Kate Havlik added 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. Carissa Scheel logged 13 points and six rebounds. Kirstie Munsen had nine points, seven rebounds and four assists. Alyssa Grohs had nine rebounds, eight assists and three points. 

Gregory’s Jessy Jo VanDerWerff finished with 23 points and seven rebounds. Cassidy Keiser recorded nine points and six rebounds. Mya Determan added six points. Dani VanDerWerff had five points and seven rebounds. 


Parkston 62, Hanson 56

PARKSTON — Parkston outlasted Hanson in Region 5A girls basketball action on Saturday. The Trojans will advance to the SoDak 16 next week.

Parkston’s Gracie Oakley had 17 points and five rebounds. Abby Hohn added 16 points and seven rebounds. Mya Thuringer logged 10 points and four rebounds. Lauren Ziebart posted nine points and four steals. 

Hanson’s Eliza Oltmanns tossed in 22 points, while Karlie Goergen had 11 points. Alyssa Moschell recorded eight points and 10 rebounds.  


Timber Lake 66, Lemmon 53

TIMBER LAKE — Four players scored in double figures to pace Timber Lake to a Region 8B girls basketball win on Saturday. The Panthers will play in the SoDak 16 next week.

Timber Lake’s Jasmine Nash recorded 29 points and 17 rebounds. Shay Kraft added 17 points and nine rebounds. Carlie Lawrence and Kendyl Locken logged 10 points apiece. Locken had nine rebounds and Lawrence had three steals. 

Lemmon’s Allie Kohn finished with 21 points and five assists. Karly Riley scored nine points, while Madison Dauwen and Toree Maher scored eight points apiece. Jordyn Kohn had seven points and six steals. 


Wolsey-Wessington 60, James Valley Christian 35 

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 2 Wolsey-Wessington to a Region 2B girls basketball win on Saturday. The Warbirds will play in the SoDak 16 next week. 

Leah Williams and Mallory Miller scored 17 points apiece. Miller added six rebounds, while Williams had five rebounds. Mya Boomsma logged nine points. 

James Valley Christian’s Kaylie Robinson had 11 points, eight rebounds and three 3-pointers. Lily Hofer added nine points, while Alexa Goertz had eight points and nine rebounds. Rhayonna Hood scored five points. 


Viborg-Hurley 60, Scotland 22

IRENE — Four players scored in double figures to pace Class B No. 1 Viborg-Hurley to a Region 4B girls basketball win on Saturday. 

Charley Nelson finished with 21 points and Coral Mason added 18 points. Estelle Lee logged 10 points. 


Centerville 77, Freeman 62 

IRENE — Centerville advanced to the SoDak 16 with a Region 4B girls basketball win on Saturday.

Centerville’s Lillie Eide recorded 17 points, while Thea Gust and Mackenzie Meyer had 14 points apiece. MaKayla Heesch added 13 points. 

Freeman’s Ashlin Jacobsen logged 22 points and Kate Miller scored 15 points. 


Flandreau 51, Great Plains Lutheran 17

FLANDREAU — Three players scored in double figures as the Flandreau girls picked up a Region 2A win over Great Plains Lutheran on Saturday. 

Lizzie Pavlis led the Fliers with 19 points while Claire Sheppard added 13 points, six rebounds and four steals. Lily Klein added 11 points and 10 rebounds. 

Olivia Holmen led Great Plains Lutheran with six points. 

 

Castlewood 52, Arlington 48 

HURON — Three players scored in double figures to pace Castlewood to a Region 2B girls basketball win on Saturday. The Warriors will play in the SoDak 16 next week.

Castlewood’s Madeline Horn recorded 15 points and five rebounds. Mackenzie Everson added 12 points and 11 rebounds. Presley Knecht posted 10 points and seven rebounds. Kailyn Larson had nine points, while Lyndsey Archer added six points and five rebounds. 

Arlington’s Addalyn Steffensen recorded 17 points and eight rebounds. Jaelyn Huntimer added 12 points, while Harley Johnson posted eight points and seven rebounds. Jolyssa Steffensen had six points. 


Garretson 44, West Central 43

GARRETSON — A balanced scoring attack helped Garretson earn a girls basketball win over West Central on Saturday. 

Jordyn Williams led Garretson with 10 points and three steals. Regan Altman added 10 points and three steals while Sydney Olson scored eight points. Logan Bly had seven points and nine rebounds. 

Jazelle Jarding led West Central with 12 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Tessa Van Overbeke added 11 points while Aubree Miller chipped in with eight points. 


Northwestern 67, Wilmot 47

MELLETTE — Three players scored in double figures as Northwestern picked up Region 1B wil over Wilmot in girls basketball action Saturday. 

Adriana Ratigan led Northwestern with 22 points and nine rebounds. Tara Blachford finished with 14 points and four rebounds while Ashley Haven pumped in 12 points while grabbing 13 rebounds. 

Addison Heinje led Wilmot with 28 points, six rebounds and four steals while Ashlyn Ebben added 10 points. 


Sioux Falls Washington 51, Rapid City Central 38

SIOUX FALLS — Grace Peterson and Brooklyn Harpe combined for 34 points as Sioux Falls Washington picked up a girls basketball win over Rapid City Central on Saturday. 

Peterson powered the Warriors with 23 points, five rebounds and three steals. Harpe added 11 points and nine rebounds while Taylor Thompson had five points and 10 rebounds. 

Teila Jiron led Rapid City Central with 15 points, four rebounds and an assist. Leah Landry had nine points and seven rebounds. 


Spearfish 39, Brookings 33

BROOKINGS — A balanced scoring effort helped Spearfish earn a road win over Brookings in girls basketball action Saturday. 

Maria Bouman led Spearfish in scoring with nine points while Mya Kochuten added eight points and ten rebounds. Sophie Guthmiller and Kate Scharf each scored seven points for Spearfish. 

Gracey Sheridan paced Brookings with eight points. Logan Smidt and Tess Burns each scored seven points for the Bobcats. 


Brandon Valley 55, Mitchell 33

BRANDON — Hilary Behrens and Alyvia Padgett combined for 32 points as Brandon Valley earned a 55-33 girls basketball win over Mitchell on Saturday. 

Behrens led Brandon Valley with 22 points while Padgett finished with 10 points. The Lynx wrapped up their regular season with a 15-5 record. 

Sawyer Stoebner led Mitchell with 13 points while Allison Meyerink chipped in with nine points.
